Summary: Quantum leap from VHS. A must if you are a movie-buff.
Review: If you are tired of somewhat blurred, hazy VHS prints, this DVD player is a god-send. For a near-theatre experience, the picture quality and sound quality (depending on the specific movie) is truly amazing. I love watching foreign movies on this DVD player because it is extremely hard to get good VHS prints. Set up is easy if you get the Monster-cable kit.

Review: I have been very happy with this Panasonice DVD player. The discs load very quickly, the remote is easy to use. The picture is absolutely perfect. The quality rivals DBS systems. The only thing missing is a time remaining feature to show you how much of the movie is remaining.

Review: I have been wanting a dvd player for some time now and after the release of Alien Legacy i broke down and did some research. After about a week or so i decided on this player and could not be happier. The sound and picture is so much better then a vhs i feel simply blown away every time i use the system. So stop looking and buy this one (at a great price) you won't be sorry! P.S. Amazon's shipping is excellent!

Review: I had considered buying a DVD player for a long time and now that I finaly "took the plunge" I can't be more happy. My only quam is that there are not more titles on DVD released as of yet (i.e. Cheech & Chong's classic movies and Fast Times at Ridgemont High). What could the Studios possible be thinking?

Summary: Fantastic performance for the budget-minded
Review: This being my first foray into the DVD format, I chose Panasonic because of the high regard I hold their products, and this certainly didn't let me down. With picture quality that rivals the higher priced models, it's the perfect choice for thos who want to join the DVD revolution, yet don't have the budget to dish out $1000.The picture is absolutely fabulous and the sound quality is just as good. It's both DTS and Dolby Digital compatible, so once you get the equipment, it'll be ready for it. The S-Video, Component Video, and 2 sets of A/V outputs make it easy to hook up to any home theater system. Plus, if you're a true audiophile, it even hase Coaxial and Optical Digital cable outputs as well. The on-screen menus are also very easy to use. This is a great choice if you're thinking of going DVD!

Review: I purchased the Panasonic basically because of the price(my budget!)and the features. I love the clear, crisp picture quality and the virtual surround sound feature that's included. You feel like you're in the theater. I would advise anyone thinking of buying a DVD player to purchase a big-screen(32or bigger)TV first,with at least 500 lines of resolution. That way you can really appreciate the picture quality.

Review: This player lacks a built-in Dolby Digital (AC3) decoder, but includes most everything else you'd want in a player. The picture quality is great, the menu system excellent, it includes component video outputs (for those fortunate enough to own TVs with such ports), and disc access is very fast. Hard to beat at this price point.

Review: (Corrected and updated) Like most here, I had no problems with my A-120 DVD player for the first 10 or 11 months of ownership. Then I started getting consistent "NO PLAY" messages at about the 1-year mark, with occasional errors in play plus minor pixellation or noticeable minor audio glitches. I thought at first it had to to with dust or disk errors (even though I am a light renter, and take great care of the ones I own). But the player soon had to be coaxed to play almost anything I owned -- only by repeatedly opening and shutting the front tray could I get it to sometimes play a disk in spite of this. Horribly frustrating, especially for an appliance that's in flawless condition, and seems way too new to me to simply conk out after light use. But it's dead. Now it won't play anything at all, and I'm definitely an unhappy camper. Panasonic reps were rude and basically told me to "buy another one." Um... no. Like I told Panasonic, I think I'll just try Sony next time instead... a really disappointing experience, from a company I used to trust. Stay away from Panasonic unless you can afford to replace what doesn't work the first time.
