Summary: What they tell you is not what you get
Review: The description for this product is totally wrong. The description and technical details seem to be for a completely different DVD player. There is no headphone out jack, no headphone volume control, no zoom feature, no A/C adapter, no lithium ion battery and no car adapter. Instead of the car adapter, you get a box of parts and loose wire that were obviously intended to be used for a permenent in-dash installation by professional installers. Also there were NO instructions on how to connect the unit to the vehicle power supply. The instruction manual seemed to be for an in-home unit and offered no information for in-car use. I went to the Initial web site, but this item is not listed as one of their products. I sent them an E-mail for information on the unit, but I haven't received a reply. This may be a good DVD player, but I haven't been able to hook it up to see. ( I have 30 years experience in electronics, so it's not just me) . Recommendation: Don't buy this product until Amazon or Initial Electronics get the proper technical information and proper instructions.

Summary: Worst Compnay!
Review: This company has by far the worst customer service I have ever received. The product description states that this unit comes with the AC cord, but when you get the box, it does not. The instruction book states that it is optional, which would lead any moron to think that it is at least available.

When I called the phone number listed right on my registration card, they didn't even know about this model! They argued that the unit must not be made by them. The guy on the phone kept asking me if the unit actually said Initial on it and asked me why I thought they made it! When they figured out that this is indeed their model, they then went on to argue about the AC adapter. They said that it does not come with the adapter. I asked if I could buy the adapter, they said they don't make an adapter. I said it is listed in the manual, they argued again and said they don't make the adapter and did not know what I was talking about.

The guy helping me sounded high or drunk and was horribly rude.
There's much nicer units out there for just as good of price. I would suggest you find a more reputable manufacturer before buying.

Summary: What they tell you is not what you get
Review: [...] As I had suspected, this is NOT a portable DVD player. It is intended for permanent installation in an RV. That's why there is no battery, no A/C adapter and no D/C adapter. It utilizes a three wire, hard wired power system: One wire for 12 VDC to the battery, one ground and one wire to Accessory on the vehicle fuse box to switch the unit off when the vehicle is off. Also, there are no "feet" on the bottom to allow it to be put on a table etc.
If you are looking for this type player, then this may be the one for you. I've turned it on and I'm impressed with the features. Full function display on the unit front, including chapter and title and full OSD. It seems to be well made, but I haven't played it enough to really ring it out. And if your interested, it will play DVD-R recordable discs. Haven't tried DVD+R. I'm also impressed with the quick response I received from INITIAL. They were extremely helpful and courteous. I'm upgrading from 1 star to 4 stars based on the quick response I received form INITIAL, and my first impressions of the unit.
