The unit's broad, 7-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD uses thin-film-resistor construction to render smooth, vivid images. Built-in stereo speakers grant headphones-free listening, and the player comes with everything from AC and DC home/car power adapters to a convenient carrying case and a full-function remote control. The GVP7811 offers full compatibility with DVD-Video, VCD/SVCD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-encoded discs, Kodak Picture CDs, and JPEG image discs. Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output (through an minijack-to-Toslink optical digital-audio cable, not supplied) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Interlaced S-video and composite-video outputs simplify hookup with your home TV. Even better, the composite-video and stereo analog audio outputs are switchable as inputs, so you can use the GVP7811 as a monitor for a camcorder, VCR, or gaming console if you wish.
