Summary: You get what you pay for!
Review: This DVD player is one of those items that looks great from the printing on the box but ends up being a huge disappointment when you actually use it. I found that it would briefly freeze up during parts of a movie with lots of simultaneously loud audio and fast-moving video, like action scenes. The other annoyance was the remote, with all the buttons being the exact same size and laid out in a rectangle. Good luck finding the play button with the lights dimmed! This one's going back tomorrow...

Summary: Decent DVD player
Review: Got this about a month ago and help out on my review to test it out..When I first got it I didn't realize it was so small....may have been looking at the bigger version...but no matter...small is nice. The first couple DVDs didn't play...when trying to read it a "?" appears...That can be frusturating..and then the tray wouldn't open to let me get the disc out! I had to "tap" it on the sides a couple times for it to pop open...the first fews weeks some DVDs didn't read or play for some reason...and some did..

My guess the DVD has to be in pristine condition(no scratches or smudges of any kind on the DVD) or it won't play..or it seems.
So give it a nice cleaning before hand for better luck...
It's a bit noisy though, but I usually have the TV loud, so it drowns it out..:)

I haven't tried playing any Cd's or or CD-Rs or any jpeg Cd's though..just use it for DVDs

So to conclude...doesn't always play certain DVDs..for reasons that it may not be in good condition or whatever...I have a better, more expensive DVD player in the living room that seems to ignore scratches and whatnot...cause it's more powerful...
But what do ya expect on a 50 dollar DVD player? :)

A bit noisy at times...but over time you'll be able to ignore it..

It's very small, so that means portability..can take it any where..probably can fit it in a purse..:0
just needs a TV with a/v jacks..and plug it in..that's nice

But be warned, if the DVD player can't read the disc, it may get stuck...if so, I just lightly tap in on the sides a few times until it opens..worked every time for me.

And also there may be a feature to turn off the region code, so you can make it region free..I've done that, but haven't tried any over seas DVDs to see if it works though.

But overall, when the DVDs do play the picture is nice, haven't seen any poor picture quality up to this point of any of the 12 DVD movies I've seen in it so far...

So for being only 50 bucks(I paid 46 dollars), and its compact size..it's a pretty decent buy for your bedroom TV or whatever...

Hope I didn't ramble on to much...lol

Summary: very good unit for the price you pay
Review: Easy to set up and to use,the player is connected to a
multisystem TV and so far I had no trouble to play
any DVD, PAL or NTSC. I would buy it again any time.

Summary: Value for money and versatile.
Review: We just bought a CH-DVD320 from Target which is identical to CH-DVD300. Its a nice little player which can play DVD, VCD, Home VCDs burnt with Nero etc. I also modified the 'Region Setting' on the player which will allow me to play all region DVDs. The modifications can be found in the review written by John Bryce. Thanks John. The player can also be played in countries where the voltage is 220V instead of 110V. Thats perfect because I can take it with me when I travel. Go ahead and buy this player.

Summary: Funny
Review: I've only had this DVD player for a few weeks but it's worked just fine....because I used common sense and matched colors when connecting the cables.

Summary: don't bother
Review: The first DVD I tried viewing got stuck half way through. I tried everything but had to eventually finish the movie on my lap top(with no problem whatsoever). Playing other DVDs was hit or miss. Some played some didn't. I will say that wieving mpg picture files was no problem and it played cds OK. I haven't tried mp3s yet and I don't plan to. This baby is going back. Sure the sticker price was low, but you get what you pay for. So do yourself a favor. Spend the extra bucks on a name brand you trust. Because when it seems too good to be true. It is.

Summary: Not compatible with all DVD disks
Review: I bought this unit due to its size and the listed features on the box. I've played a number of DVDs in this player and only about half play without issue. A number of the disks won't play at all. I wish I had done more research before buying this. As it is, the player goes back to the store and I'll be looking for another small DVD player.

Summary: Worked after I did some research on how to set it up.
Review: The dvd player was set up with the yellow plug in one of the three video out slots. It played fine the first time. The second time it was played the picture was black & white. I did some research and found that this was a common problem. Then I found a review by "rahgolden" who stated to read the instruction book and place the yellow plug in the yellow slot. I did as instructed and dvd player works fine.

Summary: Worked less than a week
Review: I purchased this unit because it is small and would fit in the van. Researched it, saw it's good & bad reviews and took a chance. I tested it before wrapping as a Christmas gift for my son and it worked fine but had some short pauses. I figured at the price this was acceptable. Within a week it is locking up on DVD's it played fine 2 days earlier. Never tried it on CD's. It is going back tomorrow for a different brand. Purchased it at a local store.

Summary: Run away!
Review: Bought this to play raw MPG files downloaded from my ReplayTV. It jumps, skips and locks up playing MPG2 video files. When playing commercial DVDs containing Japanese Anime it does not use the language selected from the DVD menu. This is a piece of junk, garbage. Works OK as an audio CD player though.
