Summary: Great! Couldn't be any better!
Review: I have this same exact DVD player, except it's 8". It works awesomely! The battery life is amazing! The picture is extremely clear and the sound couldn't get any more better. I played "Spiderman 2," half of "Men in Black 2" and about half an hour worth of CD music on it, and it still hasn't given me a warning about low battery! That's approximately 3.75 hours! And I only charged it for the recommended charging time: 4 and a half hours.

Summary: Does it can play VCD?
Review: I just bought one. Before I bought it, I read customer reviews that said it can play VCDs as well (though not officially supported). Unfortunately, I can not play VCD on mine. I have a good collection of VCDs, but none of them can be played.

I appreciate if anyone can give me some clue.

In general, I like it. Every other thing works fine.

Summary: Best choice for the price
Review: I just purchased my third Polaroid PDV-0700 as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old. I purchased two in January (at $60.00 more each) for my 11 and 13 year olds. We love these machines. Polaroid was the third brand name we tried. The other two caused trouble right out of the box. Poloroid was also the only one that included all connector wires for electricity, auto power source, and to hook it up to your television for larger viewing audience. They also include a splitter so two sets of headphones can be used at once. The picture quality is great on both, but be sure you adjust it when you begin the first movie. The settings right out of the box are not the right ones for good color and brightness. Sound is OK if you are in a room by yourself, but in the car or a noisy house, use headphones, the stereo sound then is great. I've read reviews that say this machine is not durable enough, that a fall from a low table to the floor broke it. Duh, this is a piece of electronic equipment, not unlike a television. You wouldn't think of dropping your television and expect it to still work. We keep these players in the padded leather carrying bags that we use to hang them in the car. It holds all of the wires and remote as well and we've not ever come close to dropping one. One did have trouble with the picture freezing up and we did have to return it. Although we had to send that machine back for replacement, the replacement has worked fine. The other other one will not play our MASH collection for some reason, but they are the only DVD's that we have trouble with. I didn't purchase the extended warranty with the first two because I bought them through Best Buy and their extended warranty isn't as good a deal as Target's. The manufacturer gives only a 90 day warranty on labor charges. The one that was defective needed replaced in the first 90 days and Polaroid (actually it's Pettus Consumer Brands) replaced it promptly after I called for instruction, then followed the instructions for return that they gave. This time I purchased the Target 3-year replacement plan for 19.99. Compared to Best Buy, this is a remarkable offer. If you are in the market for a good but inexpensive DVD player, this is your best bet.

Summary: Broken Case
Review: I love the DVD player, however suddenly a hairline crack in the case developed. Yesterday I opened the screen to watch a movie and the lid was partially disconnected from the unit. Two screws were out we were able to push the unit back today, however it won't close and keeps popping out. The screws must go inside as we can't see where to put them.

Even through all of this, the unit continues to play movies. The review for playing is 5 stars. I am so disappointed the case is made of plastic. It couldn't handle the opening and closing of the monitor. The review for this is a 1.

Summary: A great price and full featured...you can't lose on it.
Review: I love this thing, and it's about half the price of others on the market...yet it's made by Panasonic! It comes with everything except headphones (allows two people to listen at once) and a carrying case. Even has the car cigar adapter to save the battery. Great pic, 7" widescreen, sound OK without headphones but with stereo headphones it's really really good. Remote is also included and great when you plug it into a TV to view a DVD from a distance. They thought of everything for this one.

Summary: Great buy for the money!
Review: I picked up my unit from a local Best Buy for $250 (not including tax). Note: THIS UNIT ALSO PLAYS .MPG FILES!! This is great for me since I record shows on my computer via my ATI TV Tuner card. Now I can simply record my shows (in the .mpg format) and burn them onto CD or DVD when I'm on the go!

Summary: Relief
Review: I purchase our Panasonic 7" DVD player 2 days before going to San Diego with my 2 kids ages 10 and 3. Even though the plane had a movie for the kids to watch, they were not big enough to see over the seat in front of them. They bought their own DVD to watch and it kept them entertained for the 2 hour delay. By that time, we had a lay over and had to stop for @ an hour. During that time, I charged the battery pack and we were on our way for another 3 hour flight. The quality was GREAT! The only problem was that the volume doesn't go up that loud. The kids had ear phones on which was a help. I would recommend this product to anyone that travels by plane, air, etc.

Summary: Poor Quality, DO NOT PURCHASE!
Review: I purchased this DVD player for my husband for Christmas, I thought the price was great and the description of the product sounded good. On Christmas day we opened it up and as soon as we flipped the screen open, the hinge cracked!
I definitely would not recommend this product!

Summary: One of my "best buys!"
Review: I purchased this item mainly for my young son, who is addicted to the "Baby Einstein" series of videos. He is also at the age when he hates being confined for very long and needs distraction.

After wrangling with an old Playstation and my old TV from my college dorm room (which only had a coaxial cable input on the back! No RF plug inputs! I wasn't in college THAT long ago!) to try and set up his room for DVDs, I decided that it would be best to purchase a portable DVD player since we take frequent long car trips to the lake house in WI, and we have a few hotel trips planned this summer. Getting to take a shower and do my hair in the morning was starting to be more and more impossible, even though I started gating my son in his room with his toys, because he was bored in there without me (I'm not that exciting, or so I thought.)

So I looked at what was available online from Best Buy and decided that the Polaroid was the right price and had adequate features. It worked great right out of the box, has fine picture quality (I'm not a real connoisseur or anything, but I can certainly stand to watch movies on the thing), and fine sound quality as far as I can tell.

Since this item is mainly for my son (and my daughter who will arrive in June), I think it is more than adequate, and I'm happy to report that the young one is now happy and occupied enough in his room with Baby Einstein for me to shower, dress, blow dry and make myself up without so much as a whimper.

If you're a serious movie viewer who really demands high picture and sound quality, you'll probably want to go with a higher-priced model with better features or a bigger screen. For kids, though, the Polaroid is fine and I'm really excited to travel with it. I'm just trying to figure out how to affix it in the car so that it won't fall over. Other than that, we're looking forward to many years of use from this product!

Summary: Poor quality, lots of problems
Review: I purchased this player 1 year ago for my wife. We had used it very little (and very gently...the kids don't use it)for a little over 3 months when the small button/switch for the screen broke. I returned it to Best Buy and after some pleading with the manager, he exchanged it for another one. We used it very little, maybe six times since then (on vacation last summer) and now, after 9 months, it doesn't work again! It seems the LCD screen wiring is broken as I can only get a picture on the scren by wiggling the left side of the hinge area. I'm very disapointed by the problems/quality with this product as compared to the cheaper APEX unit I bought for my teenage son WHICH STILL WORKS GREAT. Don't buy this player unless you have money to waste and need a good source of frustration.
