Description:

RCA's compact DRC108N DVD player is ideal for the bedroom or dormitory. Featuring a distinctive silver cabinet only 14 inches wide, the progressive-scan player includes DVD, VCD/SVCD, and JPEG image CD playback and can be used to listen to MP3- and WMA-encoded music CDs. The player's MP3/JPEG combination play lets you use an MP3 file as a soundtrack to a digital photo slideshow, while the supplied unified remote control operates most RCA and GE-branded entertainment components (DVD/TV/VCR).

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DRC108N stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

Composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television, and you have the option of routing the player's composite- or S-video output to one set and the component-video outs to another simultaneously. Other playback options include 6-disc bookmarking, single-disc resume, which lets you pick-up where you left off on your most recently viewed DVD, parental lockout control, and picture zoom.

This player also has great sound: you'll enjoy a simulated surround-sound through any 2 speakers (including those on your TV), and a 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter ensures optimum decoding of all disc formats.

A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.
