Summary: Stay away from Panasonic!
Review: Customer Service - the Panasonic website claims this is very important to them. I had my home theater only 3-4 months when a VCR tape got stuck. I has now been at the service center for almost 4 months! When I am lucky enough to get a response from Panasonic (which is rare), they make promises of completion and/or replacement. But promises won't play the DVD's my family would have liked to watch together over the holidays. When we finally got through to the customer service center on the phone, they had the nerve to hand up on us twice. IF YOU WANT A COMPANY TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS - STAY AWAY FROM PANASONIC!!! I have truly given up hope of even getting my home theater back from the Panasonic service center.

Summary: Panasonic, where are the optical inputs!!!!
Review: I recently bought this system and have no complaints except for the lack of a 5.1 optical input plug.

It only has RCA (red & white) input plugs. 3 pairs of them so that you can connect a VCR, Game system #1, and Game system #2.

The sound is very good because the system has its own sound processor with multiple options such as Hall, Party, Soft, etc.

It also has a zoom option of 6 different sizes. So you can reduce the black lines on widescreen formatted movies. It is important to note that some more expensive home theater systems made by other companies, do not have any zoom feature. Even some Sony models do not have zoom.

A Tip for great picture = In the display menu, there is an option called "ANIMATION" and it gives very sharp life-like picture to regular movies.

Summary: Great sound....lack of ability to use it!
Review: I recently purchased this unit from a local retail store. After getting it home and setting it up i turned on the built-in radio first. It sounded pretty good...nice bass and treble...good sterio 2 channel sound. Next I tried a dvd (minority report) and was amazed by the life-like surround sound. Next i wanted to try my xbox and digital cable. This is where things started to go wrong. The Panasonic SC-HT670 as no digital optical inputs (required for Dolby surround from the xbox and my cable box). As I investigated this further, i also found that this Panasonic unit has no coxial digital inputs for dolby or dts sound either. In fact, it has no digital inputs at all!!!!!!!! So I can't get digital quality (dolby or dts) sound from my xbox, cable box, or any other device i own. Dolby surround is only possible from the built-in dvd play that comes with the unit.

In conclusion, spend a little bit more money and get a system with digital inputs that will work with your other a/v components.

Summary: Worth every bit of the $317 Price tag.
Review: I went and bought this home system from Wal-Mart today for a price of $317 and change after taxes and had it set up at home in about an hour. At first it would only play sound out of the speakers while playing DVD's, CD's or listening to the radio. I had to go back to Wal-Mart to buy a extra audio cable to get sound out of the speakers when watching normal TV. But believe me it is worth it. The sound is great when playing DVD's or watching TV. The radio feature is also an awesome feature. You can hit the radio button when a commerical comes on and listen to your favorite radio station then when the show comes back on just hit the TV button. It holds 5 DVD's which is very useful when watching shows like The Dukes Of Hazzard on DVD. Just put all 3 disks in and sit back and enjoy. The display is very nice to look at. It tooks some reading the instruction book to understand everything the remote does but I can now control my TV and VCR along with the console that comes with the system. The only thing I don't like about the remote is I can not find a button that is channel recall where you can and go back and forth between 2 channels with the push of one button. The only bad thing about the DVD player part is you can not load more then one DVD at a time. You have to put a DVD in close it then open it back up to put in another DVD. I keep my pictures that I take from my digtal camera on a CD and you can put in the CD with pictures in the DVD player and look at them on your TV. It comes with plenty of feet of speaker wire to put your speakers just about where ever you want them. It also looks very good. You can adjust the volume on the center, sub, & left and right surround speakers which is a nice touch. If you like to have friends or family over to watch movies this system is a very good one to get, they will be impressed. I have an X-box and if you have the unit turned on to TV you will hear the sound through the speakers. There is quite a bit of stuff to the system so buy yourself one and enjoy.

Summary: The System in Which I Am Well Pleased
Review: My wife and I bought this Panasonic Home Theatre Package August 16, 2004 for my birthday and we are completely content with the purchase. The set up was simple and the surround sound is spectacular; and all of this (and so much more) for a very reasonable price. You can buy with confidence this simple system which allows for a myriad of adjustments and sound combinations that will bring enjoyment to movie night at home.

Summary: Mixed thoughts
Review: The sound quality was amazing, eventhough I didn't get crank it up to a good level. DVD player portion broke after 2 days, would only display "wait" as soon as it was turned on and could not do anything except oddly being able to change the equalizer mode. Had to manually pull out trays to get my dvd's back so that I could return the unit. I will give it one more shot because of the namebrand, sound quality and good price.
