Summary: Michaels Movies are better than the TV episodes
Review: I think Michael does his best work in the longer format of a movie rather than his TV series. Still there are some real winners in this series, especially in the second season.

Summary: Michael Moore Sold Out
Review: I used to have respect for Michael Moore before he sold his soul by endorsing a pseudo-republican military man for president. How can someone who proclaims such loyalty to progressive causes throw his support behind a former general who was the commander of the very war Michael Moore criticized as being a "slaughter". He rightfully and harshly condemned the unilateral aggression of this country in Kosovo, but then praises and endorses the man who prosecuted it. Not only is this hypocritical, but it clearly shows that money and fame have gone to his head. He is now more concerned with supporting the Establishment candidates and could care less about whether that person has any true beliefs and convictions about core progressive causes.

Maybe he meant what he said when these were filmed. I believe he did. But NOW he is all talk. He backs up his talk by endorsing a candidate who admits he voted for republicans ranging from Nixon to Reagan to Bush Sr. WTF?? Unless he can back up what he says with endorsements of people who are not in direct contradiction with what he claims are his core beliefs, then I have to conclude he is just milking us all for our money and patronage of his books and films at this point.

I will not buy any more of Michael Moore's works unless I am convinced he is not a fake. If he was truly anti-war, he would not endorse a general who many consider to be a war criminal when there are so many other TRUE anti-war candidates who can win! He is obviously trying to cash-in with US (the little people who buy his work) and climb the social ladder wtih THEM (the Establishment Elite who handpicks generals to run for president). Imagine if Flush Limbaugh had endorsed Arlen Specter for President in 1996! That is the equivalent, and I am sure his fans would have left him too!

MICHAEL MOORE SOLD US OUT! Bring back the OLD MICHAEL MOORE!!

Summary: Love Moore, not crazy about this
Review: I'm giving this 4 stars because there are a few REALLY COOL things he does on these shows like putting the mayor of New York's face on blow up dolls in a porn store and sending that chicken guy into Disney World. However, most of the things he does is pointless and drag on too long. You can only watch Michael get thrown out of a building so many times before it gets boring. There are better ways of handling things. I love Michael's movies though and I can't wait for the new one coming out this year.

Summary: entertaining, yet frightning
Review: I've just seen the first season (2 disks) but the show is truly inspirational. Hilarious at times, but in a scary way. Gonna start on season two tonight.

One down note...he seems to lose focus a bit during the second half of the first season. His targets aren't as well defined (so...just why was he bulldozing shacks in Montana anyway?)

Summary: We love non-fiction
Review: If you love non-fiction in all it's "Awful Truth" then get this. If you like living in a world of fiction and you belive corporate American is looking out for what is "best for you" than I recommend you do not watch this, for it will only upset you. Michael Moore cannot fight these corporations alone, so after watching The Awful Truth I hope you take some action. Remember the action can be a simple one, such as voting or writing a letter to some company.

Review: if you want the truth then listen to it no matter how awful.

Summary: Sherwood Forest in Times Square
Review: Michael Moore is a very unique individual,film-maker,and writer. Not because of what he believes in, as I am sure there are millions out there who share these beliefs(his chart topping books and films attest to that),it is rather because of his more than a decade long unrelenting dedication to get his message through to as many viewers and readers as he possibly can, with a rare sense purpose, irony, and poignant sarcasm.
He is concerned about many issues that he finds are wrong with American society, from guns, corrupt politicians, greedy corporations and unfounded or distorted myths about minorities be it African Americans or gays.
The Awful Truth is his successful TV series, produced for UK's channel 4, and in which not only he addresses yet again the issues he feels so strongly about, but most importantly and this is vital, he CONFRONTS them as well in any way he feels possible,of course all dressed up nicely in his unwavering humour.
I see Michael Moore as a sort of modern day Robin Hood, for although he does not steal from the rich to give to the poor,he rather exposes, embarasses the priviledged few and present it to the ordinary man and woman. For example the episode where he tries to help the illegal Mexicans who were about to be deported because the hotel they worked for informed the INS on them after they formed a union (and not before!) and succeeding in not only keeping the illegals in the country after petitions, but getting his own back at the hotel for violation of health and building codes, this was a triumph for the underdog against the double standards and exploitation they faced.
Or the episode where he stages a fake funeral for a dying man who needs a life saving transplant his insurance company refuses to pay for, while exposing the huge profits that company made. When the comapny finally agrees to cover the operation and the patient in the audience greets Moore with tears in his eyes, this too is a huge triumph.
In this sense I see him as a modern Robin Hood.
Awful is the last word to describe this wonderful series..It will make you laugh your head off, while opening your eyes and thinking..hard..

Summary: Good Stuff
Review: Michael Moore pushes to show people the truth about this country. He's been doing it for over 10 years and is an acclaimed author as well as director. This guy breeds controversy like no other person out there. Some might hate him because he never went to college and criticizes those who went to ivy league schools. Some might hate him because they can't handle his views. And some just hate him because that's what Bill O'Reilly tells them to do. This box set will open your eyes to the truth. It will also make you laugh, very loudly at times. I recommend this box set very highly as well as everything produced by Mr. Moore.

Summary: Michael Moore is Dishonest and Misleading
Review: Michael Moore's series is just another attempt to create inflammatory sentiment towards conservatives because of his left-wing liberal beliefs. I do believe that it is a useful function in democracy for opposing forces to check one another through vigorous debate. However, it is clear that Michael Moore is guilty of the very thing he accuses: He distorts the truth to suit his own political purposes.

In fact, he has even admitted that his documentaries are not based to reflect pure historical accuracy - but rather, tailored and edited piece by piece to fit his own agenda. If this is the case, let's accept his work for what it is, a piece of theatre with maybe entertainment value, but no serious political value.

Summary: Awful and out there
Review: Sometimes the sarcasm is unbelievable, but oh so effective and NEEDED. If anyone thinks what Moore is doing is wrong or that his methods are dishonest, they should remember that the greatest dishonesty is that while ALL those issues are out there, happening on a daily basis, everyone (that can do something about them) keeps pretending they're not.

This is for open-minded people, free-thinkers, or the ones with the potential to be that and finally start using the greatest weapon of all: their brains... That's what Moore is about.
