Summary: Gripping, thoughtful, but you need to know how to take Moore
Review: Typical Moore -- stinging satire, well-argued takes on the the gun-toting trigger-happy culture pervasive in the Unites States (albeit with some artistic license) that amount to appalling homicide rates, and even some facetious episodes such as a funny and largely true 5-minute cartoon summarizing American history for the uninitiated. Truly, you have to admire Moore for his story telling.

I have absolutely no inclination of getting into left or right wing accusations because it is a documentary, a polemic one -- and what is wrong with that? -- and does a terrific job of it. Websites and counter-theories abound re. how BFC is [false] or why Moore should be discredited. Well, Moore *is* an intentionally factious director/writer, so anyone not familiar with his ways is likely to feel gyped. But he always has very true, relevant, well-argued hypotheses and pulls out some of the most endearing footage to support them.

If this was a straight-on documentary, it would be on National Geographic or the Discovery channel. It wasn't. This was a "Hollywood movie", with good reason. That is what Michael does, and much to the chagrin of people like you (and me) he does it rather well.

The only thing that I find somewhat quaint, if not laugh-out-loud funny, is Moore being awarded the "Best documentary" Oscar, which confuses people into believing that this was your everyday documentary, and should thus have kept to the rigor and honesty expected of such productions.

If you know how to 'consume' Moore's movies/books, then this is a gripping treat. Take the message, take the idea, throw out the detail and the props. Highly recommended.

Summary: Left Wing Propaganda film
Review: Let me summarize the ideas put forward by this "documentary". First all people that own guns are crazy and paranoid members of state militias that sleep with 44 magnums under their pillows. Second the NRA is an evil organization hell bent on the destruction of humanity with weapons of mass destruction. Third there is something rotten in the town of Littleton with missles being shipped overnight while the "children" sleep. This is the real reason the columbine shootings occured because of the Lockheed Martin missle plant in that town. I mean if a factory in the town is producing missiles then of course the teenagers arent going to know the difference between right and wrong. And of course what left wing propaganda film would be complete without the notion that white people are evil. Yes white people killed the friendly native americans and took their lands and white people continue to this day to repress black people unfairly portraying them on shows like cops as criminals. GIVE ME A BREAK! Add to all this a painfully self righteous Micheal Moore and you have yourself 2 hours of one sided, factually innacurate liberal propaganda.........nothing more. I highly recommend you do not waste 2 hours of your life watching this......learn from my mistake.

Summary: A true wake up call for America
Review: Mr. Moore's documentary had me crying and laughing. He explores our culture with unfogged lens. This film should be shown in every high school in America.

Summary: Searching Between the Lines
Review: Yes at certain parts in the movie the arguments were obviously one-sided but I would argue that the only way to counter act hundreds of years of injustice in a 2 hour film is to have to skew some parts of the story. It is not perfect, and neither is he, nor do either one of them prove to be. The film does, however, spur healthy debate and requires viewers to read between the lines. Research EVERYTHING before you go along wiith it is more of the message I took from it.

Summary: Wake up America!
Review: The people who do not love this film are just as ignorant of who they are and who we are as Americans as many of the people in Moore's film. These Americans have succombed to the fear that Moore so brilliantly addresses in this film. America needs the courage to look itself in the mirror and try to change itself, rather than constantly pointing our [weapons] at everyone else. This is a historical landmark of a film and anyone that doesn't appreciate its message is a part of the problem!
God Bless Michael Moore and may he bless us with one hundred more films that help us look ourselves in the mirror and see ourselves for who we really are!

Summary: This movie kicks butt!!!!
Review: I absolutely loved this movie. I know a lot about how the media is screwed up, I've studied it, but I never looked at it in the why Micheal Moore did in this movie. Why are we so afraid of everything? We've been trained to be. This movie is great, makes you think, makes you laugh, and it the most entertaining documentary I've ever seen. If I had to only watch one movie for the rest of my life, I'd throw the Terminator movies out the window and opt for this. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Summary: A provocative & exhilarating movie
Review: Michael Moore is one of the great social commentators of our time. "Bowling for Columbine" poses some difficult questions about our society and the good Americans around us.

Summary: Honest Truth
Review: "Bowling for Columbine," is the most important movie completely of 2002. It sets out the voice of the common person. Rarely does any film, newspaper, or magazine do this. Furthermore it sets out to expose true facts that are frightening to a lot of people because the media never shows the entire story. Good job Michael.

Summary: Superb
Review: One of the best documentaries I have seen, and I have seen many. This makes you think. Why so? Why America? What are we so agresive and arrogant toward each other and the world? We have many problems that we should take care of. This is entertaining and thoughtful. This isn't mambo-jambo-freaky-don't-think movie. Michael Moore goes under the surface. If you like to know what is happening to your country, to you and your family than this film is the right one. Warning: This is an mind opening movie.. Because this film is simply magnificant created by a fantastic director like Michael Moore.
