Summary: FANTASTIC BOOK, THE TRUTH IS FINALLY OUT
Review: Great book, it is truly refreshing to have such a truthful book availible.

Summary: One Great Movie
Review: This is the best movie I have ever seen. And to the guy who called this a mocumentary, the only thing Michael Moore is making a mockery of is this nation, and the stupid white men that control it.

Summary: Terrible "documentary"
Review: I would expect an award winning documentary to not be so incredibly one-sided and full of short sighted views on topics that the director twists and turns into something cicumstancial to warp the minds of easily swayed (or should I say "open") minds. Yes, Michael Moore, it is your right to voice your viewpoints, but why should any of us care to listen to them when they are too skewed to be thought of as educational enough to be the topic of a documentary.

Summary: Documentary?
Review: Michael Moore's "Black Box" politics ruined this film.It could have been truly great.Instead, the film is ridden with deceit and quasi-truths.Never was this more evident than in the segment of NRA president Charlton Heston where dubious timing and creative editing declassify this film to a vanity flick for Michael Moore and a mockumentary for us.Hollywood should seriously consider taking back his Oscar and and give it to someone who made a real documentary in 2002!

Summary: A documentary?
Review: I am all for creative artistry, but to create a blatant work of fiction and label it as true?

We may live in fictious times as moore claim but he is part of it rather than the champion of thoose alleging to want the truth.

couple things, you can not go to the bank and recieve a firearm, you make the deposit and they give you a certificate which you take to a federally licensed dealer who will then do the appropriate paperwork and NIC check and if you pass you then get the firearm. Healthcare is not free in Canada, I know a Canadian who loses exactly half of his income to the government for these "free" services.

It seems to me that this sloppy unwashed "artist" did indeed srtike a nerve, for those like myself this film is an outright attack on the conservative right. there is nothing wrong with that except for some reason they decided it was a documentary, I think a more appropriate term would be a video essay.

Summary: " Michael Moore: A Voice Crying in the Wilderness"
Review: "Bowling for Columbine" begins as a documentary about the Columbine High School massacre and turns into an examination of the American psyche that is as honest as it is insightful. In a country where 'the right to self-defence' has been traditionally identified with 'the right to kill', where six-year-old children pull guns on one another in class, and where the NRA responds to classroom massacres with pro-gun rallies that shamelessly target the communities that are still mourning, Michael Moore's humanity, sensitivity, and intelligence are qualities that cannot be praised enough. "Bowling for Columbine" explores the recent trend amongst American schoolchildren to take firearms to school and use them against their own schoolmates in a way which highlights important social issues such as, gun control, the power of the arms industry, and the connection between big business and the gun lobby in the United States.

Michael Moore asks that most vital of questions, "What is it that turns American schoolchildren into gun-toting killers ?". This proves a very difficult question to answer, and Moore has no intention of scraping the surface of this problem so as to ease the nation's conscience and avoid confronting the full implications of this cultural phenomenon. A less responsible documentary-maker would be content to point out the ease with which Americans can purchase weapons at will, or the fact that American youth is systematically desensitized by rock-music lyrics, violent computer games, or shocking video-nasties so they are more prone to violence than other children. Michael Moore, however, is not the man for a white-wash. By comparing American history with that of other countries, and tracing the role played by violence in each, Michael Moore seems to suggest that it is not the insecurity inbeded in American conscioussnes which is itself responsible for producing class-room killers, but the way various political and economic interests systematically cultivate this 'culture of fear' for their own profit. In the light of the present administration's so-called 'war on terror', "Bowling for Columbine" is a very significant testimony indeed.

Summary: I left the theatre in tears
Review: The people that call this "lies" do not live the same reality the rest of us do in 2003. If we are to heal this country, we'd better listen to the people in this film.

Summary: The Truth
Review: Michael Moore tells the truth and people find that hard to swallow.

Summary: What a Crock!
Review: One star would be generous.

Moore is a would-be activist with an agenda. Liberals love him, Conservatives hate him and most of us in the middle realize he's a nutcase who gets awards because they are given by Hollywood types.

The film is nothing more than another Moore rant. No attempt to really put things into perspective (except his own, very slanted one) and certainly ignores facts.

Moore is a gun-control advocate. Like all such people, he ignores that Murder, assault, etc. are all illegal NOW. So making more laws would do what? Make them MORE illegal?

Don't fund Moore. Let the DVD collect dust.

Summary: A so-called documentary
Review: Where to begin?? If you are a liberal (and liberal with the truth) then you will love this video. If, on the other hand, truth matters, don't bother with it.

An example: Moore juxtaposes scenes and speeches to suit his purpose. In one "scene" in which Heston is supposedly trashing the mayor of Denver, Heston's clothes keep changing each time the camera returns from a crowd shot--an obvious splice to confuse the viewers over what was really said.

Moore is against guns and he will use any means, including lies, to oppose them. He is also a glory hound and will use any forum to advance his name. Keep those two things in mind before buying this video.
