Rating: Summary: A must-see, for sure ...! Review: A brilliant combination of diverse display formats (8, 16 etc. mm.) prevents boredom all the way the video through. Sometimes topped by excellent back-stage intermezzi. The sound recording quality is among the best.
Rating: Summary: Alanis diehards will love it Review: A choppy documentary type production. I thought this was going to be one full concert but it isn't which was rather disappointing. Still OK, but not as good as I expected.
Rating: Summary: garbage DVD Review: As a fan I found this DVD soooo disappointing that i asked my dad about 20 times "how can anyone enjoy watching this?". There's certain parts where it sounds real good but then it skips to another concert where it sounds HORRIBLE. If they'd picked songs from different concerts and shown the entire song from one particular concert and another song from another concert and so on it would've been an amazing DVD i'm sure but like this it isn't worth watching. Director should've checked out the Metallica DVD's first (unfortunately they hadn't been released by then i think :(....) before making something like this.
Rating: Summary: Jagged Little Pill Live hurts to swallow Review: Content of each track is intermixed cuts from several performances. No continuity in either the video or audio. Painful to watch or listen to. Stick with the CD releases.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy this for the music! Review: Cybil must have been in charge of the audio track. One minute the sound is awesome and the next minute it sounds like the microphone was moved 100 yards away. Jumping between different concerts is ok for the video but all the power of Ms. Morissette's voice is trashed on this DVD. I feel completely ripped off!
Rating: Summary: Very disappointing. Review: I actually expected to see and hear Alanis sing the songs. But the performances are all chopped up and what little you hear on this is home-video quality sound. Maybe ok for some, but I expected a professional production and got amateur hour.
Rating: Summary: Be Wary Review: I bought this and I am a big Fan. I thought that this DVD was targeted at a very niche market as it is not one that can be put on and just enjoyed as a CD can. This title requires concentration or it just seems to be a jumble of low quality clips inter-mixed with high quality Concert footage. Overall this DVD runs more like a Quentin Tarantino film than a "Live" Concert DVD
Rating: Summary: All that glitters is not gold. Review: I bought this DVD thinking it would be an Alanis Morissette concert in its entrity. Alanis is my favorite singer, and I couldn't get home fast enough to watch this DVD. A great deal of the video is just a bunch of silly shots of the band traveling around acting like teenagers. There are a lot of songs, but the presentation is horrible. During the same song, it skips around to as much as five different venues. A song will start out in a big, glitzy arena, and just about the time you are getting into the music, it will skip to an outdoor concert with lousy sound, then it may jump to the MTV awards show, or a video, or an acoustic set. This is so annoying, and just makes it impossible to enjoy the music. I would not mind seeing Alanis in different venues, but please leave each song in only one venue. Considering the potential of DVD, it would be really neat if you could pick the song, and which venue you would like to see it in. I wish Alanis would come out with a concert on DVD that was just one show from beginning to end.
Rating: Summary: Buy it if you're a die-hard fan Review: I bought this tape because I thought it'd show all of her videos of her songs. It didn't. It wasn't a big dissappointment, although some scenes in there have horrible shots and audio recordings. If you're a big die-hard fan of Alanis Morissette, you gotta buy it, just because it's Alanis. But if you're not, like me, it's really nothing to get hyped up about. Buy the video for kicks if you want, but don't expect some awesome clips in there.
Rating: Summary: This video RULES!!! Review: I bought this video as soon as it came out! I watched it through twice in a row. Alanis amazes me in concert she seems to be thinking of nothing eles but what she is singing at that very moment. She is my most favorite singer in the world and she will probably stay my favorite singer for a while.
