Summary: Technically ok, horrible content
Review: I am sure children (and some adults) might have fun watching this dvd, but I didn't. Actually I had problems watching it through until the end, I got so bloody angry. Technically the material is ok (picture quality actually great in places), but putting a human spin on everything with "funny" voice-overs should be considered close to criminal, as it depicts a view of nature and wildlife that is seriously wrong. Wildlife "documentaries" should try present facts and explain how nature actually works (or simply show it and leave it to the viewer), not increase our misunderstanding by adding human feelings and reactions to animals. Leave that to Disney & co., they can do it much better. In addition I got the feeling that several of the scenes were staged, the camera & mike(s) were placed just too perfect for it to be an incidental shot. And if this is the case one has to wonder about putting young animals through experiences like these just in order to make money. I thought about it, and didn't like it. At all. If you buy this one, don't show it to your children. They have enough of a tough job learning to understand the world without you putting them on a wrong track.

Summary: Fun nature shows for all ages
Review: Professional production, good camera work, and a high quality encoding (minimal artifacts from the MPEG compression), and comedic "voice-overs" of the animals in various situations. If you are looking for a nature/animal "documentary" style (with humor) DVD for your children (or yourself) this is an excellent choice. Summary: Much more violent than you would be led to expect
Review: Unless you are the type of nature lover who enjoys the Trials of Life videos, there is nothing at all to recommend this movie. There are some truly brutal scenes which both my husband and I found horrible to watch. I wouldn't let a child see this in a million years. It's so disturbing that I would worry about scarring them. In addition, all the scenes are extremely staged-looking with ridiculous sound effects and jokey voice-overs. I had really looked forward to seeing this (based on the title) and it was a disappointment in every way imaginable.
