Summary: Game is Sold.....
Review: This film is a must for a player in the game or anyone interested in the dynamic lifestyle of a rarely seen culture. The extra 30 minutes of footage is tight. Pimping ain't dead, they just scared. This is a tool for making bread. A person can put the knowledge spit in this video into use in all facets of his or her life.

Summary: Perfect Compliment to "American Pimp"
Review: This film is the perfect compliment to American Pimp, the fine Hughes Brothers documentary. The pimps featured here are extremely compelling to listen to...and you can't take your eyes off of them.

Get this and American Pimp. Both will give you a balanced outlook on The Game. I'm sure your minds are full of negative images and opinions on Pimps. So watch it anyways. If you hate Pimps, you'll still hate them afterwards...but you just may understand afterwards. And that's what it's all about.

Summary: BRENT OWNES PLEASE EMAIL US WE LOVE YOUR FILM
Review: This film is vastly superior to American Pimp, and shot for less than half its budget. Kudos to Mr. Owens. We own a video store in Canada and on behalf of all of our clients who we have forced to watch your film, we want to extend a warm thank-you to Brent, for this great movie.

Brent, if you should happen to read this, please send us an email, at wyattpam@storm.ca as we would really like to see your other documentaries, particularly the one about the Bronx.

Summary: Don Magic Juan IS the KING!!
Review: This is a documentary on the world of pimps and prostitutes. Two of the pimps featured in here, Don "Magic" Juan(A FORMER pimp) and "Snooky"('98 Pimp of the Year) to me stand out. Don Magic Juan is so unbelievably hilarious! He was in a store talking to a young man who was reading a book all about pimping, and Don Juan sais to him, "Hey man, go to school, study hard and get yourself a good job, don't do what i'm doin'. 'Cause when you start pimpin' man, WHEW!! Hey man, it'll be more work usin' your mind than it would be liftin' this whole building! I mean, Pimpin' ain't easy but I know somebody's gotta do it!" I don't know, me personally, that one kept me laughing for about a week straight. The pimps in this documentary speak very blatantly. Sometimes, it can come across as very harsh and cold hearted to someone who's not familiar with pimp lingo. But what attracts me to this documentary is the flashiness of the way the pimps dress, the way they talk, and how they come right out and tell you, "Yeah, I do that, yeah I do this!!" And come on, what guy doesn't fantasize about having five female celebrities all to themselves the way these pimps have women for them? The other pimp in this movie to look for if you want to be royally entertained aside from Snooky and Don Juan is Mr. Whitefolks.

Summary: If you don't like the movie maybe your a hoe.
Review: This is a first hand perspective into the world of pimpin. If you have no respect or interest for pimping, pimp game or just an open minded curiousity in wanting to learn more about just what pimpin in the modern age is then you have no business writing a review or anything else about this movie. I don't like hockey, Nelly and alot of other things, that being said your not going to see me writing reviews for something I have no knowledge about or any interest in. So for all of those who have watched this and didn't think it was all that or just not a just account of what pimpin is so be it ....at least you tried. But for those who have never seen it and are writing this out of word of mouth shut up and get over it. Stick to what you like and those of us who like this movie will keep on keeping on. People make movies of whatever they want nowadays. If you actually watch the movie you might learn something and you can see just how bizarre and sometimes sad this private underworld is.

Hey critics, are you sure you never made any movies. I bet you have.

Summary: Pimps N Hoez
Review: This little documentry here is sorta nice some females in it and the focus on the pimps can get boring at times but this is a good video to watch. Ice tea also makes his pimp appreance but if your looking for a tape full of females try Luke Freakshow vol 3

Summary: I can't believe these people are real.
Review: This movie exposes an extraordinary underbelly of American culture that I heretofore thought only existed in Hollywood blaxploitation movies. The documentary itself is woefully underdone - as one reviewer detailed, it makes little mention of violence, drug use, law enforcement, stds, etc. - and might have been better served exploring other facets of the prositution business rather than the various pimps' world views. However, this missing aspect doesn't necessarily detract from the overall impact of the film, because, as I state in the title to this review - I simply cannot believe that these people are real! (I clearly remember seeing "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka" and laughing out loud at the THOUGHT of a "Pimp of the Year" contest, not, of course, realizing that such a thing actually exists).

There are many amazing, disturbing, frightening, hilarious, and, honestly dumbfouding aspects to this movie. First, the clothes - too bizarre to describe. Pink suits, plaid suits, alligator shoes, purple bowler hats - they look more like costumes than clothes. Very entertaining. Second, the jewelry - almost impossible to believe how much gold is on display. One pimp wears a four-finger ring with a 6-inch statuette on it - no kidding. Third, and most importantly, the vernacular. The various pimps and prostitutes employ language unique unto itself that, if not so entertaining, would be frightening. If anything, it only exposes the obvious - that among people involved in street walking and street pimping, education is not the top priority.

However, seeing this world for the first time, I was fascinated. This movie is worth viewing, if only to see what's out there.

Summary: Pimps -n- Ho's
Review: This movie has to be one of the oddest documentaries I have ever seen. The film focuses on the relationships between pimps and ho's, the lifestyles, the amazingly flamboyant outfits and jewelry the pimps wear, and of course the annual pimp awards! It was a strange reminder of the worlds that exist in a seemingly normal city. There was also an interesting cameo by Ice T. It was a blast to watch!

Summary: Not as entertaining as it could be.
Review: This movie isn't the how-to guide some of the other reviewers have suggested it is. Instead, the movie concentrated on the lives of various pimps, focusing the camera on them as they talk about their lives.

I didn't really care for the approach, for several reasons. It allowed the movie to gloss over sex (which was limited to shots of women dancing), gloss over the seamy side (drugs, abuse, and STD's are only briefly mentioned), gloss over instructional details (hos tend to have low self-esteem, it unsurprisingly claims), and gloss over the obvious contradictions (brief shots of decked-out pimps living poor in the ghetto).

Instead the pimps talk themselves up. They never get outside the cliches, and come off something like the first few minutes of a COPS episode, extended for an hour and a half. Which would be OK if they were more fun, but aside from the surprise of seeing an old Oakland rapper, the people interviewed get boring very very quickly, and their segments all last far too long.

Anybody looking for real pimp info should look elsewhere. And for a more fun look about this All-American sport, try out 70's blaxploitation movies like "The Mack," or a Too $hort Album.

Summary: I don't know about this one
Review: Watched it for 3 days and felt I didn't really get my moneys worth. So I am reselling it and hope that someone wants it. I won't be surprised if they don't. A waste of money.
