Summary: My own review
Review: I have something to say: I am a cross-dresser myself.Whenever I go out with my girlfriend and friends, epople would stare at me as though I'm an alien. Sometimes they would even say hurting remarks abt me aloud. I really don't understand why people can't accept us for who we are? Since we've already made this decision of becoming a cross-dresser, then let us just be as we are. Treat us like a normal person. I really do hope that there'll be a day when this society can accept people like us

Summary: Eye Opener
Review: I have to admit that after seeing Boys Don't Cry, I wanted to see the real thing. I was saddened by the documentary seeing Lana, Brandon's Mother, and other close friends. John Lotter made me sick to my stomach, seeing the real person or rather monster-in interviews. However, seeing pictures of Brandon growing up & looking happy made it real to me, very real. Something like this could happen to anyone of us just because we are different. Showing the actual house where the murders took place, outside & in, made me shudder. Seeing a picture of Brandon with a bullet hole under his chin and the stab wound in the stomach, laying lifeless made me cry. This was worth seeing. I sure opened my eyes. Brandon seemed so lighthearted & happy, loving and was just searching for a place to fit it. I think the documentary is worth seeing and also sharing with people you care about.

Summary: A Heartbreaking Story
Review: I have viewed The Brandon Teena Story about 5 times so far and I`am always left blown away by it. Brandon Teena was a person who wanted to be loved and accepted for who "HE" is and what he got was raped and killed for it. Its so sad. What really got me was that Sheriff Laux when Brandon reported the rape. This Sheriff didn`t care about Brandon and what happened, all he seemed interested in is the fact that Brandon is a woman underneath the clothing. He asked all those questions to Brandon, questions that were WAY out of line. It seemed as if Laux was getting off on it, it made me sick! Poor Brandon, what he went through. He got rape once physcially with Lotter and Nissen and then he got raped again emotionally by Laux. If it wasn`t for Laux, I believe Brandon would still be alive. Laux should have done his job and arrested Lotter and Nissien when Brandon reported the Rape. He didn`t, now Brandon is dead along with his two friends. Its so heartbreaking. No one should be treated the way Brandon was. Brandon will always be in my heart.

Summary: Very Powerful film
Review: I just watched this film and I was really amazed by it on several fronts. What's most effective about this film is how recently it was made after the murders. The screenplay is very well done, and the film makers have done an astonishingly good job of capturing the still present prejudices that are just beneath the surface of those involved in this tragedy in the community. The Sherif who interviewed Brandon after his rape left me with my jaw on the floor. I was just blown away at Brandon's treatment by this man, and was doubly blown away at the end of the film when it's revealed that this man has been elected to a higher office than Sherif. Just chilling. This film is a MUST SEE. The empathy one has at the end of this film for Brandon and his victimization is overpowering.

Summary: Disturbing
Review: I liked this Movie...BUT..It was very disturbing to me, That this actually happened to this poor Girl! It left me a little disheartened By How we treat people who are different. The story is slow at times..But A good rent!

Summary: Nice complement to Boys Don't Cry
Review: I saw Boys Don't Cry first, and because of that, the documentary did a good job of further fleshing out characters and background. I question whether it would be as effective on its own. One thing it does very well is shine a light under the rock to reveal the festering ooze that is life in rural Nebraska. The movie did a good job, but even an independent film glosses up the wretched stupidity on display here.

Summary: devastated!!
Review: i saw the movie over the weekend on cable and i was so upset by the end of the movie i could not sleep. during the moving i thought it was great that she could find someone that she could be herself with. i was really hoping that in the movie she wouldve been ablbe to be with the girl that accepted her. i can not believe or understand how some people can be so cruel and do those things to another human just because they dont agree with her lifestyle. if you see this movie is such and eye opener that we still have people in the world that could be so cruel just because they did not agree with her lifestyle. i see it this way, the people that dont agree with that type of lifestyle should just choose not associate with it. i think it gives no one the right to kill someone just because they dont like it. it is so scary that we have to live in such a dangerous world and hide who you truly are just because the public says so.

Summary: Understanding
Review: I was reading the other reviews and all of them trash on Falls City. I know that the people in my town were portrayed as white trash and lowlifes, and they really are the worst of the worst. However, judging the entire town by this documentary is unfair. Very few people in Falls City are actually so terrible. And you have to understand that the majority of the town is 60+ years of age, so they came from a different time when gender bending and cross dressing we're ever talked about. I myself am a lesbian and have never been the target of any violence, sure i've heard some insults, but nothing terrible... i just wanted to try to express that you can't judge an entire town by the worst of its population... thank you
