Summary: Disappointments
Review: This is an excellent 8th installment to an exceptional series by Ric Burns.That said, I was seriously disappointed that the DVD did not include as a bonus item the interview that Ric Burns gave on September 28, 2001 on the Charlie Rose Show and even more upset that the Port Authority film, "Building of the World Trade Center," (shown on that evening's Charlie Rose Show) was missing as well. Given the fact that it is thanks to Ric Burns' documentary that the Port Authority film still survives, it is especially appropriate to include it with the volume of the series dedicated to the World Trade Center. There is also some unnecessary footage included as bonus material. The segment, "Intimations of Mortality: Empire State Building Crash," was cut by the filmmakers when this part of the series aired on television on October 1, 2001. The seven CD set, which went on sale before September 11, 2001, does include this sequence so there is little reason to duplicate it here.
