Summary: Dolphins Was Good.
Review: But not great. When I buy an Imax DVD my expectation are high. Dolphins was good but not 5 star. To give Dolphins the same or better rating than the The Living Sea DVD is not accurate in my opinon. The story starts off well but it seems to lag from the meddle on. The Living Sea is a DVD you can watch time and time again. I do not feel that way about Dolphins. So rent and watch a nice film.

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: Dolphins Is a wonderful film with a wonderful musical score provided by Sting and Steve Wood. We purchased the DVD, and the soundtrack CD - and it is regularly in our CD player. Our kids love it !!! The cinematography is awesome. This film will put you in a good mood on a cold, winter day with it's visuals and island flavored music. You'll also learn so much about these most incredible creatures. I would love to see a sequel to this great documentary. I think it was actually nominated for an Academy Award. Do yourself a favor, buy the DVD and the soundtrack CD !!!

Summary: Great Soundtrack for a Spectacular IMAX Movie
Review: Dolphins was easily the best IMAX movie that I have ever seen. The cinematography is spectacular, and the soundtrack is excellent and varied. It is mostly Sting selections from his album "Brand New Day" adapted to an island beat--along with a few great non-Sting songs like Sea Of Light (my favorite track). If you are a Sting fan, you will love this CD. It also works the other way around; I (already an island music lover) became a Sting fan after hearing this CD. For relaxing music that makes you feel like you are in the tropics, get a copy of this CD.

Summary: MUSIC OF ATLANTIS BY ATLANTIANS
Review: Given his work on THE LIVING SEA and now with this soundtrack for another underwater IMAX classic, DOLPHINS, I am begining to believe that the fabled Sting is an Atlantian refugee. His music is so fine, so perfect and so appropriate here that it just must be a possibility.

The album features Sting songs I NEED YOU LIKE THIS HOLE IN MY HEAD, FILL HER UP, GHOST, and my favorite the classic WHEN WE DANCE. Like THE LIVING SEA, Stings work is beautifully complemented by the score of Steve Wood (quite possibly a fellow Atlantian).

Summary: Does it really matter if it's high resolution picture yadda?
Review: I am a huge fan of IMAX films in general and this is one of the best. The soundtrack (Sting) is awesome and Mr. Brosnan does a great job narrating. It is inspiring to see these intelligent creatures as they interact with humans and you quickly become unsure of who is the scientist and who is the subject.
Their intelligence combined with the perpetual smile make the dolphins seem more like distant cousins than a different species.
My 6 and 2 year old love this movie as well and the outreach value of science is made self evident. We may truly communicate with other creatures in the universe and won't it be amazing if we find them on our own planet?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Melodic, entertaining, and fun.

Summary: Why there is no widescreen format on my 2Discs Dolphins DVD?
Review: I bought this 2 Discs Dolphins DVD because there are both widescreen and full screen. Strangely, there is no widescreen option from the DVD menu. 16X9 widescreen option is missing from my Dolphins DVD. On the back of the cover, it stated there are both 16X9 and 4X3 format on Disc 1.

I have purchased other 2 Discs version of Macgillivary Freeman's series like To The Limit, Speed and Journey into Amazing Caves. I have widescreen option on my DVD menu on these titles but not for Dolphins. Is this manufacturing problem ? The barcode serial number of my Dolphins DVD is 14381-2334-2 and it is Region Code 1 NTSC.

Summary: Wow! Dolphins deserves 5 stars!
Review: I love dolphins, so I saw this in the dyna max theater as soon as I could!! It is really great. The music goes very well with the movie. It features a woman that studies dolphin communication, that teams up with a man that studies dolphin feeding habits, and a man that has a special bond with a dolphin named Joe joe, and lots of dolphins, of course! I dont own it on video yet, but I really want it!! A great movie for any one who likes dolphins.
