Review: This disc does a great job taking you through both the audio and video setup steps for your home theater.The dvd menus are layed out nicely, allowing you to quickly navigate to the setup procedure that you want to perform. The disc includes red, green, and blue plastic filters for use in calibrating the color level, which turns a job that used to be guesswork into a quite accurate yet easy procedure, all without lots of scientific test instruments. The instructions are a extremely easy to follow. Each video setup section starts out with a description of what you are going to see and how you are going to adjust your video controls to make the correct settings, then shows the real test patterns. When done, you simply move on to the next chapter and continue the process. Overall, an outstanding dvd -- Highly recommended.

Review: This dvd is a complete waist of time unless your a profesional video specialist, otherwise you will have to take notes that you can refer back to when the test patterns are finaly shown.There are also numerous test patterns that im sure are useful and while they do tell you what they are used for they dont tell you HOW to use them.Futher unless you have expensive video test equipment even if they did tell you how to use them you wont be able to.The people that rated this product high are either experienced video calibrators or are nuts.Dont waist your money.

Review: This DVD is a must have for any serious home theater enthousiast. I found the video to be a very helpful overview of the principles of home theater systems. The video and audio calibration sections were very easy to use. (There is even a test to set proper black level without needing a DVD player that will pass a blacker than black signal - something Video Essentials does not provide). There are even a couple "hidden" Dolby Digital trailers and a Dolby Digital story chapter for you to enjoy. You must buy this.

Review: This is a definite must-have - test patterns/tones were very useful. Even more impressive to me was the fact that when I did have a question concerning the subwoofer set-up, my e-mail was replied to within 24 hours and very specifically and clearly explained. The info on the Dolby Digital story was also entertaning and informative.

Review: This is a wonderful tool for fine-tuning your receiver and calibrating your TV. It comes with a Red, a Green and a Blue filter so you can go relatively deep on setting your equipment, as far as your TV allows you to do so.
It also has a Home Theater guide for "dummies", which helps a lot of people understand this wonderful thing.
Unfortunately it is only related to Dolby Digital. There is no DTS features available.

Review: This is by far the absolute necessity for any home theater afficionado. Anytime I change anything I go straight to this to make sure everything is in sync. I recently got a new tv and wanted to make sure it was set correctly(factory specs are always horrible). I was supposed to borrow my friends Avia DVD but he apparently lost it. It was a sad and scary moment thats how important this is. I bought my own and felt stupid for not having it already. Anyway, the only caveat I found is my new tv is a DLP and this DVD isnt updated for that kind of technology. However, it just seemed that some of the problems that occured with older sets no longer apply to DLP so less things to worry about. Get this disk, it will change your whole experience.

Review: This is one of the most important DVDs in my collection. Why? Because it provides the tools and knowledge to tweak my television to perfection! I can't recommend it enough. It goes beyond the old favorite "Video Essentials" by providing clearer explanations and easier to use test patterns. This title will help lead you on the path to audio/video nirvana!
