Rating: Summary: This Movies Has It All Review: Cheech Chong in multiple roles. Salma Hayek as a stripper/vampire (a combination that rivals peanut butter and chocolate as far as I'm concerned). George Clooney as the epitome of cool. Quentin Tarantino as the epitome of psychotic. And Harvey Keitel as a mean "mm-hmm mm-hmm" servant of the lord. You couldn't really ask for much more from a movie than this. The dialogue during the first two-thirds of the movie is diamond-like in quality. The action in the final third of the movie is riproaring. This is truly a movie that is not afraid to be totally cool and bad right down to the bone. And if I hear one more person tell me that it's really bizarre how the whole first half of the movie has no supernatural elements and the second half of the movie is like a totally different movie, I'm going to give up on humanity altogether. For one thing, I have no idea why that should matter. These same people probably loved Pulp Fiction, which had how many storylines? And for another thing, it's actually unusual to have such amazing character development in a movie about vampires before anyone gets killed. I LOVE this movie! I love this movie enough to have the movie poster framed, hanging in my living room. If you don't have a copy of it already, buy it, and cherish it for the true cinematic gem that it is.
Rating: Summary: Hollywood¿s Great B-Movie Review: Some of the reviews here are written a little too seriously. While this is by far a good film, it nevertheless achieves its original intention. Quentin Tarantino owed a script to these special effects guys, therefore this movie was the result. With his good buddy Robert Rodriguez as director, famous for his kinetic and often ludicrous action sequences, this movie is an over the top romp. You can't take this movie too seriously because its just not that kind of movie. It's fun eye candy. Selma Hayek in a bikini doing a snake dance? If that isn't gratuitous, I don't know what is. And then there's the extra gory violence. If this movie was made by a special effects company, then you have should expected no less. I had a really good time watching this movie, especially the scene that invovles a ... monologue (Very, very funny). So grab your favorite date, turn off the lights and enjoy these two hours of fun.
Rating: Summary: Fast Forward To The End Review: This is not a deep movie. It doesn't have a intricate or creative plot. Therefore, do yourself a favor and fast forward through the first 2/3 of the movie and get to the strip club b/c that is where all the fun begins. I'll fill you in on the what you miss so at least you understand who the characters are. The notorious Gecko Brothers (George C. and Quentin T.) rob a store, leave a trail of destruction, hijack a mobile home from a disgruntled minister and his two children and make a break with them across the Mexican border. From what I wrote you might think that there would be a lot of action...wrong. Aside from the brief opening shot out the rest is boring, long winded dialogue that acts as filler until...they come upon a raunchy bar/strip club in Mexico and, of course, stop for some entertainment. Little do they know that it is really a lair of some rather nasty and thirsty vampires. Salma Hayek makes a brief appearance here as a very sexy vampire. I say brief b/c once the sun goes down she ain't so sexy. With the sun down and the exits sealed, it is "go" time and the Gecko brothers, their hostages, and the other biker type scum in the strip joint go head to head with the noctural predators. The movie earns all its stars right here. Had the first 2/3 of the movie been like the last third this would easily be the most action packed gore fest of all time. Seriously, blood and gore flow in such ways I cannot possibly give it justice through a written description. I'm tempted to give it a higher rating but I resist b/c after seeing the ending I cannot help but be disappointed and irritated that the rest of the movie was soooo lacking.
Rating: Summary: EXELENT! an A+ horror film. exelent cast. Review: EXELENT VAMPIRE MOVIE! and this is from a guy who has seen many. directed by robert rodregiez (i had not heard of him before this but damn can he direct a movie!) and written by Quinton Tarantino (pulp fiction, Jackie brown, Reseviour dogs), its a A+ horror film wich is NOT easy to achive. STARRING- George Clooney (O' brother where art thou, Batman and Robin, One fine day), Harvey Keitel (resevour dogs), Quinton Tarentino (you know), Cheech Marin (Up in smoke, Still smokin) and many other fine stars of today. The plot starts out with bank robing brothers (george clooney, quinton tarantino) who despratly need to get across the boarder to Mexico due to being on Texas's "most wanted list" so they highjack an RV (owned by Harvey Keitel) into Mexico only to find themselfs in a strip bar of blood thirsty vampires! A BEAUTIFUL FILM. PUT ON A MUST SEE LIST!
Rating: Summary: BEST MOVIE EVER Review: George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino star in this gangster/vampire crossbread that is, without a doubt, the best movie ever made. What sets this horror movie aside from others is that rather than killing off central characters from the start Scream style, it dedicates the entire first half to character development. This allows the audience to begin to actually care if a character dies or not. The story centers around a violent pair of outlaw brothers named Seth and Richard Gecko and an unwitting family they kidinap to help get them and their loot across the Mexican border. Once they get their they go to hide out in a sleazy bar where they stumble across an ancient den of vampires. Clooney and Tarantino, who spent the summer before shooting began together so they could interact in a believable way are one of the best on-screen duos in history. They are very diffrent and Clooney's(Seth) charm and charisma are the exact opposite of Tarantino's(Richard) menacing and creepy performance as a sex-offending dork from hell but even though the opening sequence characterizes the two as unrepentant killers the viewer still can't help but root for them. This is one of the rare movies that you can watch over and over again and not get tired of it. I would highly recommend you check this movie out as long as you can stand a little violence and bad language.

Rating: Summary: Pulp Fiction Meets Fright Night Review: I'm a big fan of Tarrentino's work, though he gets alot of bad rap I believe him to be one of the most talented writers alive, starting with Resevoir Dogs, he wrote Natural Born Killers, and Four Rooms, Desperado, and finally coming to From Dusk Till Dawn. This movie was a rocker, holding any clues or hints that there would be deradful horror in the last hour. Teaming up with horror man Robert Rodriguez, they put together this very well made horror movie about two criminal crazy boys [George Clooney, Quentin Tarrentino] who are on the run for Mexico, They kidnap a family on road [Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, and the son]and they come to a bar called the T**ty Twisters, they find that the bar is infact an eledged trap for feeding time for the vampires that inhabit it, they have to become a team with their hostages to survive, not to mention a couple other cast members; Fred Williamson, and the Sex Machine. You actually grow to admire the Gecko brothers [Clooney, Tarrentino]and Tarrentino's fine writing, alot of sick and twisted but also real features you'll see, along with bloody vampires nawing on humans, and a sided 4 man battle over a bloody severed body part battle ground, that turns to chaos. The movie was very well put together, starting out with 2 Pulp Fiction guys that run into a bunch of Fright Night vampires, the idea was to act upon the impressionable idea that Stephen King does himself in his novels, that to draw the audience into the story so that they indeed care about the characters and them BAM! vampires come along, you put the characters in this altered world of life and death. This movie is especially good on DVD, the sound is ausome along with the bonus materials, and the wide screen.
Rating: Summary: From Dusk To Yawn Review: From Dusk Till Dawn is an awful movie. It is really bad. It's a shame. It had a lot of great, talented people in it and a promising premise. It completely went out of control. It was too much!. It was too much to the point where you lose hold of it and completely lose interest immediatley. An awful, awful waste of a movie.
Rating: Summary: Worth it Review: Many argue that this film is only good up until the point that the horror starts and this is true for some people but being a big fan of Tarantino & Rodriguez I had to enjoy it, and the movie was very entertaining and well written and directed but it is not for everyone if you are into Tarrantino and Rodriguez and you enjoy crazy gory action horror then it is definite and the dvd's themselves are almost worth it they are packed with features including a behind the scenes film called full tilt boogie it is pretty good
