Summary: Even at the bottom, The Beatles are still at the top
Review: First of all, I'd like to say, if it's The Beatles, how bad can it be? I mean, honestly, even when they hit their personal rock-bottom, they were still at the top! And Magical Mystery Tour proves this. The only Beatles product to be overall unsuccessful, it still thrills me every time!
Magical Mystery Tour was the first 100% Beatles movie. "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" were basically set up for them by all the official people, the camera crew, Brian Epstein, Richard Lester, etcetera. They were (as Paul McCartney said about "Help!") "almost extras in our own movie." But with Magical Mystery Tour, we learn what The Beatles can do, not what Brian Epstein can do for them.
The best scenes are (obviously) the music segments. The movie's high point is "I am the Walrus." AWESOME song. The horrible let-down about that scene is that during that trippy fade-out, instead of lots of colors and weird pictures, all that is shown is the bus moving along ever so s-l-o-w-l-y with a bunch of guys dressed in white walking behind it, plodding along extremely slowly. BORING!!! I expected cool, psychedelic pictures, but all we get at the end of "I am the Walrus" is a bus that seems to be out of gas and have a flat tire.
The other scenes are cool, except for the spaghetti dream, with John shoveling piles and piles of red, slimy spaghetti onto Aunt Jessie's plate. Ugh. DISGUSTING!
The rest is cool, but quite silly. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to buy!

Summary: WEIRD BUT GROOVY!
Review: This film has to be one of the most underrated films. First of all, a lot of people said there's no point or plot to this movie, but who cares.... ITS THE BEATLES!!! I think its a cool time piece. This came from the same psychedlic minds of John, Paul, George, and Ringo that brought you "Sgt. Pepper". It has beautiful scenery and color. And the scene where John is shoveling the spaghetti onto Ringo's Aunt's plate is just awesome. It was an actual dream that John had and it came true. Who wouldn't like to go on a Magical Mystery Tour with the Beatles???

Summary: Tragical Mystery Tour
Review: Even for die hard Beatles fans, MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR is very hard to watch. LET IT BE is way easier to watch than this. It is very disjointed and confusing. When it was first aired on the BBC, it was shown in black and white so, it must have been even worse for the tele audience. It's great to see the four Beatles together, however, apart from the musical sequences, there isn't much here. The bus tour isn't very interesting, the other characters besides the Beatles are repulsive, and there really isn't a story or plot. In the BEATLES ANTHOLOGY, Paul McCartney mentions that film students, who went on to become some of the top directors in the industry, took great notice of this film...I don't think so. Luckily, A HARD DAY'S NIGHT and HELP! are out there to help people forget about one of the Beatles' flops!!

Summary: like VH1, but really late at night!
Review: 1) This a Beatle Movie
2) Don't expect much else!To be perfectly honest, as far as story goes, this movie [is not good]! Keeping that in mind, and not looking for much more than a parade of music videos strung together by a very loose plot, it's fantastic (for music alone). Don't get me wrong, most of this movie is more than enjoyable, but it can't be taken seriously, and shouldn't. That's the point. Give it a view, it's fun. Great Scenes:
1) Aunt Jessica's dream (lots of food, lost of spaghetti!)
2) Blue Jay Way
3) Flying
4) Death cab for cutie

Summary: wild and psychedelic
Review: This is one of the beatles best! When it first came out it didn't go over as well as "a hard day's night" or "help" but it has become better over the years because it shows the wild sixties and what a movie made by 4 people on lsd should be (wild and crazy)! I would recomend it to anybody who dosn't have to understand every part of a movie.

Summary: Flawed but magical
Review: Largely a project of Paul McCartney's, (who was advised to junk it but refused) this hour long travelogue was savaged upon it's release to television. Occasionally dull and more often than not disjointed, the musical sequences save the day, and you won't see a performance of "I Am The Walrus" anywhere else. Film seems to hold up much better today in the age of music videos and as a landmark of 1960's psychadelia. Beatle fans and 1960's buffs are sure to enjoy this more than a casual viewer.

Review: Great DVD to own, The Beatles are having fun here on a bus, weird but great to see the Beatles in 1967 I think. I really enjoy the zany-ness of this project & I love the songs & i don't take it too seriously, it's just a film.

Summary: Great music sequences, not enough of George...
Review: If nothing else, this 'movie' has some of the best musical sequences ever. 'I Am the Walrus' is hilarious and 'The Fool on the Hill' is one of the few instances where Paul was actually cute. 'Blue Jay Way' is strangely entertaining, especially for me, a George fan. 'Your Mother Should Know' is funny, especially watching John fall over at the end and Ringo stepping out of the beat (Ringo! You're the drummer! Get it right!) 'Flying', admittedly, freaks me out, but I still like the tune itself.
However, the rest of the movie is not up to par with 'A Hard Day's Night' or 'Help!' There are funny bits and I enjoy the irreverance, but the lack of any scenes with George, my favorite Beatle, rather pissed me off, to say the least. In truth, he has six lines of dialogue in the whole movie, while Ringo talks nonstop the whole time. John narrates and Paul is basically in charge, but George seems to linger in the background.
Otherwise, it's quite clever and despite it's lack of plot, enjoyable. But....more George!

Summary: why does everyone hate this film?
Review: Ever sence I was young I have herd that this was a BAD film. Last summer I rented it from a video store----and I liked it! This 'IS' the best Beatle film! I wouldent exactly say "think of it as a smarty art film". But..... I just loved the color tints douring shots of firlds and what not--the odd restraunt scene (with John as a waiter!)--the singing of "TOOT-TOOT-TOOTSIE" with all of the passengers--the ending "finaly" scene--the apperence of the Bozo dog do da band -the music video type sequences-and alot of other things! just get it--you wont be disapointed-if you keep an open mind.
thares no plot---its a documentary(of sorts)--its just fun
