Summary: Snake Rules
Review: Wow,now this was a good movie. It had good actors a good plot(altought it was a little bit too much like Escape From New York),fine actors and i love like the character of Snake Plissken(And i also like Kurt Russel who playes him).John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors after James Cameron.Carpenters movies are all good(Except Starman) and have this kind of dark feeling to them.Snake doesn't even care what happens to the rest of the world and when he has to save the U.S he must be forced to do it.Theres also many good sidecharaters like "Map to the star Eddie"(Played by the wonderful Steve Buscemi).Truly an excellent movie.

Review: A movie this horrible is not only judged by how much money one wasted, but also how much of your life was taken away forever. I am now dumber for watching it. LED ZEPPELIN RULES!

Review: When Escape from NY was released, even I was not born. EFNY was not so good to me, but EFLA is different. It even makes EFNY more valuable. It's parody of the first one, but more powerful, interesting. The dialoges is synical, but funny. Kurt Russel created really special character. I love the ending of this movie. You can also enjoy performance of other good acters like Peter Fonda and Pam Grier. John Carpenter is one of the greatest director.

Summary: Average at best
Review: This is a fun movie to watch, but hardly a worthy of the 5 star reviews listed here. For Carpenter's best work watch Escape from New York or The Thing. With L.A. he's seemly trying to repackage the same ideas for a generation too young to remember those movies when they were new. Why is Escape from New York not widely avaliable on DVD like L.A.? It's a crime!

Summary: LET'S DO IT MY WAY !
Review: ESCAPE FROM L.A. is, in my opinion, John Carpenter's most important movie to date. At last, he has become one of the major american directors in spite of the fact that he usually works on fantastic or sci-fi material.

Snake Plissken is a rebel. He doesn't want to be part of the new America that years and years of intolerance, bigotry and stupid wars have created. It's not difficult to understand that John Carpenter is hiding right behind Snake and has a great time criticizing this future society not so different from ours.

And we, the audience, are not forgotten. Remember the scene when a fanatic crowd wants Snake Plissken dead and waits with vicious pleasure for the basket-ball death game ? WE are that versatile crowd, who, in the same manner, shouts Snake's name after his triumphal 10 points run. How many of us have ceased to believe in Carpenter's genius after two or three average movies ? A lot, I'm afraid.

In one word, John Carpenter is back.

A DVD for Peter Fonda

Summary: Snake is back!
Review: This was my favorite film of 1996. Excellent action, humor, and story. A worthy sequel to Escape from New York. Highly recommended.

Summary: Snake gets re-introduced
Review: This movie was made for fans of Escape From N.Y., but were too young to see it on the big screen. Essentially a remake of the first film with a bigger budget, the real magic here is in the character of Snake Plissken. The world is supposedly 16 years older than when we last saw Snake, and he hasn't changed one bit. He still doesn't care about anyone but himself, so stay out of his way. Snake was one of the first popular anti-heroes and deserves every inch of his cult status. Unfortunately, some of the effects don't translate real well to the small screen, but keep in mind that this movie is just plain fun. Also, the ending still sends chills up my spine every time I watch it.

Summary: The Best Sci-Fi Satire Since ROBOCOP
Review: John Carpenter created one of the most original and exiciting futuristic action films back in 1981 when he made ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, and fifteen years later he released a sequel called ESCAPE FROM L.A. that's just as good, if not better. ESCAPE FROM L.A. is quite an action film, though it occasionally has a few cheesy moments. What really lifts this film up though above other action films is its incredible sense of humor. There are several ironically funny scenes throughout the film that make you realize that this really isn't an action movie about the future, but more of a satire of the whole thing. Not since ROBOCOP has a film combined humor and action so well, and for that I tip my hat to John Carpenter for pulling off another great film. If you liked the first ESCAPE, or are just a John Carpenter fan, make sure you see this movie.

Summary: SNAKE RULES
Review: I love SNAKE PLISSKEN. He's my favorite ever movie character. And this is the movie to see him in. It's cheesier than NEW YORK but livlier and funnier.
