Review: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is one of my all-time favourite Horror films but it looks sooooooooo weak in colour, it takes every chill and thrill out of the film and makes it look like the SESAME STREET HALLOWEEN SPECIAL. Duane Jone's face looks like expired chocolate and the zombies look like normal people. Turn your back on this one, Horror fans and see the B&W version instead.

Review: First time I saw this movie I was ten, it was even on TV and it scared me. Romero defines the cannibal zombie flick. If you love the classics you gotta see Night of the Living Dead.

Review: If you like horror then you should go to Blockbuster and rent this movie. It is very suspenseful. This is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. I thought that the special effects crew did a good job on making the zombies back in the late 60's. Well, anyway I think you should watch this movie if you like horror.

Review: It's in black & white? Big deal - in fact, it enhances this film with it's grittiness. Black & white has always been the perfect format for the horror genre`. Low budget? Hey, it didn't hurt this movie one bit. Great acting. Splendid direction. Original story, envied (and - unsuccessfully - copied time & time again) story. Horror CLASSIC. George Romero is at his best with his zombies - His social satire and visual humor is outstanding, if subtle at times, and when he puts humor away, he'll make the hairs on the back of your neck creep, crawl and damned near jump right off your skin! Enough said, if you havn't seen this movie watch it as soon as you can. And check out the sequals (it was originally planned as a trilogy) to this flick - Dawn of the Dead, & Day of the Dead (the latter being the weakest of the three, but never-the-less, a great, gory time!

Review: Of all the vhs copies out there this collector version is the best! The clarity of video and sound is great. Re-mastered from the original film! I almost felt as if I was watching it for the first time! If you love this movie, this collector's version is the one to get.

Summary: Ignore the rest, this is the best!!!!
Review: The quality of this film and its extra features on DVD totally justify the purchase of my DVD player. This should be thought of as the "official" release of NOTLD, and you are an idiot if you purchase any of the cheaper versions. The detail of the picture quality is amazing, especialy if you've seen it before, most likely at 2am on a local TV station. It looks like a different film, as if you're watching it for the first time. The fact that its not letterboxed seems like a minor complaint. The extras are what really make this edition stand out, however. The audio commentary tracks(two of them!!) are a real treat. The first track, featuring George Romero, John Russo, Karl Hardman(Harry Cooper) and Marilyn Eastman(Helen Cooper) is the best, as it provides alot of production stories specific to each scene. They also have a great time naming each of the zombies, who doubled as crew members. There is a scary 30 seconds after the Washington DC scene where the audio track suddenly cuts out, but it comes back. The second commentary track features Barbara and Johnny(Judith O'Dea and Russell Streiner), the cemetery zombie(Bill Hinzman), Tom(Keith Wayne), and a few others. Their conversation amazingly manages to cover different ground than Romeros group, as many alternate stories are dished. It sounds like you're eavesdropping in on a high school reunion. Its interesting to note as well that Mr. Romero seems almost bored at the beginning of his audio track, but is drawn out of it as the film goes on. His comments, as well as Karl Hardman's and Judith O'Dea's, are the most illuminating. The commercials included (made by Image Ten) are really funny, unlike the terrible "parody" Night of the Living Bread. Thankfully its only about 10 minutes long. The trailers are creepy, featuring the most ominous voice over you've ever heard. So thats it then. If you are a genre fan with a DVD player you have no excuse to not own this special edition. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money.

Review: Yup, George Romero is a genius, and there is no denying it. Well, some denying it, but anyway, this movie rocks because it is not just about zombies, but about our society. Watch the movie and you'll see. What? You don't own it yet? For shame!! Order it now!!!

Review: I loved the movie. It was awesome! The blood and gore was sweet. And the way those two guys turne dinto zombies. Plus the dad started going tothe mom when he was a zombie, "Your brain, it smells so rich and spicy!". I encourage every horror-lover to watch it!
