Summary: Made a big impact
Review: It's quite a while since I saw this movie, but it made a big impact on me at the time. I particularly liked Kubrick's use of classical music. I am keen to purchase a VHS copy but it would have to be in the PAL format - suitable for Australia

Summary: A great movie loosely based on an even better book
Review: Kubrick did take a lot of freedom with his interpretation of Burgess's bizzare parable of a futuristic society dominated by chaos, but threatened even more by the extreme measures taken by a reformed government to control and eliminate crime. The garish costumes and haunting sound track add greatly to this masterpiece. Even the slowest student at an under-funded vocational school should be able to understand the message within the film. It is not hard to grasp, despite what other reviewers may have said. My only complaint is that Kubrick was never able to complete the audio commentary track for this disk, and that it was not released in an uncensored form. As far as I know, the full film has not been seen in the US since its theatrical release under an X rating. This is an excellent film that I would recommend to anyone.

Summary: A WORK OF ART AND A WARNING TO SOCIETY!
Review: Although Alex was undeniably evil inside, it was society which allowed him to release these psychotic fantasies. In an age where genetic manipulation, human or animal clones are possible, people who don't know God, kids who take drugs and steal for kicks, this highly stylised film is more relevant than ever.

Summary: Excessive Rape and Violence?!?!
Review: One of Kubricks greatest, but where do people get the ideas to state that the movie is excessive in it's rape and violence. Burgess created a character that was the extreme of society putting the choice of free will to it's ultimate test.

Summary: Best Twisted Movie I've ever seen....

Summary: One heck of a movie
Review: I think this movie is very descriptive. I had just seen it a couple months ago. I wasn't around back in the 70's since I'm only 13. I recommend this to anybody who is looking for a great movie. One of Stanleys besy.

Summary: DAMN THIS MOVIE IS TRUTHFUL!!!!!!!
Review: PURE SOCIAL COMMENTARY ON THE WORLD. I can see a few of the reviewers missed the point COMPLETELY. This movie is SO TRUTHFUL and so real. A great performance by Malcolm Macdowell helps to swallow this epic story. Stanley Kubrick is at his best with this most outstanding film. ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fantastic movie
Review: The bad reviews (what few there were) of this movie really annoyed me. So in response: Kubrick is not against punishing criminals. He is presenting the audience with a moral dilemma: are the scientists attempting to "rehabilitate" Alex any better than Alex himself? And if Alex doesn't have a choice between good and evil, can he be considered good? Another amazing thing about the movie is that it is still one of the most shocking films ever made. Personally, I count it as the second most shocking film I've ever seen, right after "Happiness."

Summary: One of the best ever
Review: From start to finish, this is one of the best films ever made. For everyone's taste, it's not, but for sheer power and brisance, it's one of the best movies ever.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Too ridiculous to be taken seriously.
Review: This movie was far too enigmatic and incoherent to string together. The music lent itself well to the story, yet one that is laughable. I believe that somewhere in its inner recesses lies a meaning as profound as in 2001, but I could not allow my self to see beyond the silly sets, costumes, and actions. Any movie filled with characters who have purple hair and wear their underwear over their pants is not a good one, even if it was directed by Stanley Kubrick.
