Summary: Herbert West is Marvelous
Review: Herbert West, an ex student of worldy reknowned Dr. Gruber, finds himself in a bloody horrible mess. He creates his own reagent to bring the dead back to life. With this power, West begins his experiments on lab animals until there is no lab space left. He "will now need new[nooo]lab space." West gives an Oscar caliber performance in the suspense thriller from 1985. Dr. Hill, West's current teacher, displays a stunning performance all for not. Hill is soon beheaded by West as a result of blackmail. Hill was planning to kick West out of school if he didn't hand over his notes and the reagent. Dean Halsey is thrown into a wall by a reanimated subject and ultimately receives exploratory surgery,under the authorization of Dean Halsey's daughter.

Summary: Funny Gore Flick
Review: How they took HP Lovecraft's short story (which is one of the SCARIEST short stories ever written, in my opinion)and came up with this, I'll never know, but there's no denying the entertainment value.
This has some outrageous scenes, like the decapitated head performing cunnilingus on a woman strapped to a table, and the exploding eyes, and the re-animated cat. It is easy to see why this has such a huge, loyal cult following.
Now to be fair, what I'm about to say has not been mentioned by the other 106 reviewers, leading me to believe that this only occured with my copy, but I was not able to move the arrow on the main menu, so I missed out on the extra features. Like I said, I proably recieved a defective copy, but it may be wise to investigate before purchase.

Review: Re-animator is definently one of the greatest horror film of all time, if you haven't seen it then what are you waiting for BUY IT NOW. The film's story is based on a short story by H.P Lovecraft it stars Jeffery Combs as doctor West and Barbra Crampton as Megan who gets in a very comprimising and weird situation lol will get to that later.

Dr. Herbert West has created a green fluid that when injected in a dead body gets to be reanimated, as soon as he arrives back from Switzerland to Miskatonic University he starts to conduct some experiments with his partner dr. Kane on some dead bodies in the hospital morgue, in a very cool scene one of the corpses goes crazy and starts to bite of the deans fingers off. There are alot of gorey special effects that are just amazing since they didn't use any CGI computer fx like a talking decapitated head and alot of blood and guts get spilled in this film especially the massacre in the hospital towards the end will either make you laugh or leave the room in digust.
Alot of the violence is mixed up with humor in this film like which reminded my of the first evil dead, when the headless corpse is holding its decapitated head and gets down on megan who is tied to a table completly naked, you just have to see it unbelievable.

I suggest you watch this film as a double bill with dead alive but only if you have a strong stomach and if you have watched other horror films like the romero living dead trilogy.

Summary: The BEST horror movie of the 80s
Review: Re-Animator has to be the best horror movie of the 80s next to Evil Dead. The movie has tons of gruesome special effect to spare with a classic scene involving a head and a woman. A nerdy scientist brings back the dead corpses with a neon-like liquid in a needle causing them to turn into zombies and then the fun starts when the scientist re-animates a dead cat and the cat comes back and that scene is hilarious and the classic scene with the severed head and the woman strapped to the woman is so outrageous that it is so hilarious. The gruesome stuff in the movie is a man's head is decapitated with a shovel,eyeballs being exploded,a dead man's head being peeled so you could see the skull. Though it is the best horror movie, it isn't really recommended for squeamish viewers. Also recommended:Dawn of the Dead(1978),Dead Alive,The Toxic Avenger part 1 and 3,Evil Dead 1 and 2,Zombie(aka Zombi or Zombi 2),and Basket Case.

Review: THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST HORROR/ZOMBIE MOVIES OF ALL TIME, IT ACTUALLY HAD THE BALLS TO BE RELEASED UNRATED, WITH OTHER MOVIES SUCH AS RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD AND DAY OF THE DEAD COMING OUT AT THE SAME TIME IT HAD ALOT TO LIVE UP TO, BUT AS A FAN OF ALL OF THESE MOVIES RE- ANIMATOR WAS TOPS. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE TAKE SOME TIME TO DO SO, IT IS TRUELY ONE TO BE LOVED AND WILL WITHOUT A DOUBT LIVE ON FOR YEARS. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF PETER JACKSON'S DEAD ALIVE, YOU WILL LOVE RE-ANIMATOR. TRUST ME.

Summary: "Re-Animate Her"
Review: One of my all time favorite horror movies next to day of the dead, Zombie, dead alive, etc. A good horror for fans of the undead or just a quick scare. There are some very gruesome scenes such as decapitation by shovel, eyeballs exploding, attacking intestines, and it seems when ever you see the Deans daughter, about five or ten minutes later she's naked. I also highly recommend Bride of the Re-Animator.
