Summary: Spooky, clever and funny
Review: Ash is back. This time he has to battle the evil dead in medieval times as he quests for the Necronomicon, the book of the dead, so he can get home. Cleverly scripted and imaginatevly directed, with some quite amusing wise-cracks and creative costumes. This DVD edition is THX mastered, so he quality is crispy and clear, and some of the sound effects will rock your living room. It also contains the orginal ending which is very grim and kind of spooky, the theatrical trailer, a documentary on the special effects department which is very interesting, and talent bios which are very radable. Above all, a worthy DVD disk that well worth your money.

Summary: The Medieval Dead.
Review: I remember that was the original title``The Medieval Dead`` for the special edition laserdisc version of Army Of Darkness. I seen this film for the first time at a theater in 1993, i was very happy to see one of the evil dead films in a big screen.I order the limited edition at Columbia House, now they tell me is no longer available, ... At least, i got the Director`s Cut on video, the tape is a bit dispointment, the only flaw is the film colors. I really the original ending removing the ending from the 1993 version. I will like to another evil dead film in the future, where the original ending left off. Fans of army of darkness, if you didn`t get the limited edition on DVD, get the tape on a limited edition director`s cut cover. If you don`t like the tape, go at the evil dead wedsite, they have all the scenes, they cut out of Army Of Darkness. Grade:A-.

Summary: One Liner Fun
Review: Army of Darkness, aka Evil Dead 3, is a symbol of independent horror/adventure/comedy greatness. For this third outing director Sam Raimi(Darkman)went a different direction than the previous two Evil Deads. It is formulated from the old Jason and the Argonauts adventure type movies. With Bruce Campbell as the super dead-destroyer spitting out some of the most memorable one liners, it only adds to the fun. You may have heard his lines stolen by the Duke Nukem video game series. With the original ending that gives a Planet of the Apes - esque doom finalle, its worth seeing. The fianl cut ending is a tad more entertaining and leaves you hoping for a sequal. A fine addition to any DVD collection.

Summary: Great Fun
Review: Army of Darkness is a classic in its own twisted sort of way. The gothic-style action hero Ash coolly spews out as many cheesy one-liners as Bogart ever did. The zombies are all created by now-old-fashioned techniques, such as costumes and puppets, as opposed to the newer computer-based technologies. The humor is all based on slapstick and coolness. Since the movie takes place in the Medieval days, the heroine is a bit on the easily-seduced side, that is, until she 'got real ugly'. It is in these ways that the rollicking fun of Army of Darkness may signify that the Hollywood classics never really died. Even Sam Raimi somewhat resembles a successful Ed Wood in the documentary. On the Director's Cut, I actually feel that the studio was justified in requesting a happier ending to be shot. Though it makes less sense, the originally-released ending left a more pleasant taste in the mouth, and the audience remembers more the comedy than the horror. With the depressing ending on, the movie seems to take itself a bit too seriously, and all of the slapstick humor is all of a sudden not as funny. Don't get me wrong, I was cheering for T. Gilliam when he beat Universal with his gloomy and Very appropriate ending, but this one seems to detract from the film's overall fun. Anyways, the other cut scenes are great (i.e. the full-length lighthouse scene), and it is pretty neat to see the original ending apart from the rest of the film. I hurried to buy the Limited as soon as it was no longer available, of course, which is excellent and wholly recommended in itself. Many of the in-jokes the makers previously shared only amongst themselves are explained in the commentary. A great buy for a good time.

Summary: Hail to the King Baby!
Review: WOW! This movie is without a doubt the best movie I have ever seen. Ash "THE MAN", played by Bruce Campbell, steals the show as he uses sheer toughness, unique fighting techniques, and savy pillow talking, to combat evil and of course, work the ladies. Ash a simple hardware store clerk, sneaks his way out into the country to an abandoned cabin. While trying to score on his babe Linda, Ash finds himself suddenly shot back through time by an evil awaked in the forest. Captured by Medeval locals, through skill and cunningness Ash is eventually proven to be the "chosen one" who must lead these simple people against the evil army of the dead. Director Sam Raimi brilliantly turns this story line into sheer comedy using exciting and commical action scenes coupled with over 50 of the best "One liners" ever heard on screen. I can not even begin to give this movie justice by attempting to put into writing all that it has to offer. I can only portray my humble opinion and advice. One must watch this movie more than once as it gets better every time you see it. The full effect of its clever hillarity does not even maximize until about the third viewing of the movie. With these words of wisdom I can only encourage you to rush out, grab the nearest copy you can find, and enjoy the ride.

Summary: Great fantasy comedy
Review: Continuing from the end of 'Evil Dead 2', Ash is now is slave in a medieval-like world filled with all manner of unpleasantness. This is a riot, with all manner of hilarious black comedy, including killer books, an army of skeletons (sadly sub-Harryhausen but funny anyway), Ash's evil twin, tiny versions of Ash, comic dialogue. Added to that is scenery just as imaginative and well-designed as that of the best dark fantasy film and you have top entertainment.

Review: One of my favorite films. Raimi and Bruce Campbell have once again combined bad horror (on purpose for those ignorant to the Evil Dead trilogy) and top notch sarcasm. You gotta love it. Ash is back and just as funny and I love how this movie is much like Evil Dead part 2 but yet was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. What a scenery change and yet there scripts still work. Bravo. Bring us Ash again PLEASE.

Summary: GROIN GRABINGLY GOOD!
Review: OH MY GOD! This movie is friggin' hysterical! It is true however that it is mainly a cult favorite. You have to have the sense of humor that most people don't seem to understand. Everyone I show this movie to says "that's stupid!" and nothing pisses me off more than that. They are the same kind of people that don't understand "The Far Side" or "The Simpsons". I definitely recommend this movie but you should be warned that it is not to be taking seriously. You have to have a good sense of humor. Also you have to watch the normal version because the Widescreen director's cut takes out a huge chunk at the end which is probably the best part of the movie. "Lady, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave the store".
