Summary: Groovy!
Review: Director Sam Raimi is one of the greatest visual stylists working in American films, and Bruce Campbell deserves to be one of our biggest movie stars. Not for horror fans looking to be scared -- more of a hilarious spoof of horror films. END

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: not a remake, reason
Review: People, are calling this a remake, when it is really not. The reason why it seems like Ash is coming back to the cabin, is that Mr. Raimi could not get the footage from Evil Dead 1. He had to recreate the footage, with Ash going to the cabin with Linda. End of story END

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not as good as number one
Review: This horrible remake of the first Evil Dead is awful i mean god, they could have stuck to the original story line i recommend you torch this and rent the first one, oh and don't even consider Army of Darkness, it sucks even worse. END

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Undeniably a true classic.
Review: Working in a video store, I often hear this:"I'm looking for a good horror movie." My reply is "Have you seen Evil Dead II?" One of the highest rented films in the U.S.and U.K., dir. Sam Raimi is a TALENT to be reckoned with. Truly a classic. Laugh or scream, there's plenty of ENTERTAINMENT packed in there. And, after all, the point of filmmaking is to entertain. Enjoy! END

Review: A remake of the first evil dead. It's more comical than the first installment as ash the chainsaw bearing triger happy badass battles more of the evil dead. I thought it was a great movie and am glad it is now avable agian. Army of darkness picks up were evil dead2 leaves off it was almost called evil dead3 but universal studios wanted the movie to stand on its own.Hope you injoy it as much as I did. END

Summary: Ranting and raving over the movie that wouldn't die!
Review: Finally, our prayers have been answered! With a loyal legion of fans willing to fork over hundreds of dollars for a high-quality copy of this horror/comedy classic, The Powers That Be have re-released it, in WideScreen no less!!! Bruce Campbell is Ash, our um... hero, battling the forces of evil in this sequel/remake of the classic Evil Dead. On a weekend getaway with his sweetie, Ash goes back (?!?) to the cabin from the original movie. There he finds the Necronomicon, the Book Of The Dead. Going through records left behind by the scientist who had lived in the cabin before his demise, Ash unwittingly awakens the 'spirits out in those woods'. Right off, his girlfriend is killed, and comes back as a zombie, bent on doing the same for Ash. Well, he decapitates her with a shovel, and his weekend just goes downhill from there... ;) The daughter of the couple (a scientist herself), her man, and a couple of unwilling backwoods 'assistants' show up, finding Ash with blood on his hands, and both of her parents dead. (Can you say, 'bad first impression'?) Convincing them of his innocence takes precedence over escaping for a while, with devestating results. Featuring some of the most brilliant one-man acting scenes on film, this movie is a must have for anyone interested in either the horror or comedy genre. There _is_ a bit of gore, so it may be best to loan the kiddies to the neighbors while you watch this laugh one minute, scream the next classic!!! HIGHLY recommended! END

Summary: One of the best Horror films ever made!
Review: Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell came flying out of the back woods of Michigan with their original and extremely low budget Evil Dead. This new release of Evil Dead 2 is the sequal/remake of the first film with more gore, more humor, and more money! Bruce Campbell plays the ill-fated Ash, who is hunted down by a demonic force known as the Evil Dead. As our bumbling hero, Bruce Campbell is the King of physical comedy and self mutilation. Sam Raimi is as imaginative a visionary as he is a talented director. At one point we are thrown in the point of view of the Evil Dead as we chase Ash through the bowels of the cabin in the woods where the horror takes place. On moritorium for several years, this movie was known to sell at auction for over a hundred dollars. Now it's yours for only $14.98! END
