Summary: An 80's essential
Review: What a deep, moving story of two star-crossed lovers. This is the "Key Largo" of the 1980s.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Disappointing.
Review: It is not that Rourke and Basinger dont give good performances. Rourke is very believable as the perverted, rich exec and Basinger good as the art dealer who is disgusted yet strangely attracted to Rourke's twisted changes in behavior. I think what is lacking is the identification that the viewer makes with at least one character. Unless your a sadist or masochist or at least interested in that sort of thing you wont be able to identify with either of the leads. There may be some identification with Basinger as being so lonely or desperate for change in her hum drum life she puts up with Rourke's wierd and unerotic approach to sex. The two highlights of the film are Basinger's striptease and at the end of the film when she decides she has had enough of Rourke. The end is the most understandable part of the film. Still interesting and worth checking out but not the best from either Mickey or Kim. Some trivia: Jaqueline Bisset was asked to do Basinger's role but she didnt want to expose herself to that degree.

Summary: Mislabeled Trash
Review: The box says that this video is a "story of a love affair that breaks every sexual taboo." I think not. Mickey Rourke doesn't even take his shirt off until one-third of the way into the movie. Except for an occasional glimpse of Kim Basinger's boobs, there is nothing to see. This video has a long way to go before it breaks any taboos. Dull, boring plot.

Summary: Man Who Can't Feel His Feelings Loses The Love Of A Lifetime
Review: So many people miss the main point of this movie because it's so stylish and aesthetic -- the film shows graphically what happens between men and women when men quash their feelings. It comes out in obsessive ways -- pushing the boundries of physical relationships to the point of insanity. This film is superb ~ It should be seen from another paradyme. Ps. This is also a GREAT soundtrack, great music from an eclectic array of artists including Brian Ferry, Cory Hart and others.

Summary: A stunning, daring journey into sexual obssesion
Review: After watching 9 1/2 WEEKS, I realized that the movie is very serious about it's subject matter. Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke develop perfect sexual tension, and the movie turns out to be both erotic and interesting. It's also not campy and has some smart dialogue.

Summary: This movie describes American Sexuality to a "T".
Review: This movie shows viewers what they want to see. The "bad" side of sex. Which how many people out there can say that they have never had a dominating fantasy, or a fantasy of being submissive? It portrays HUMAN NATURE. People who say this movie is awful, or it was too "graphic" are just not comfortable with themselves, or haven't had a date for 4 years. The movie is good, very good. I own the un-rated version, and I watch it at least once a month. I know EVERY WORD to it.

Summary: What a disappointment!!
Review: I should have listened to the people who watched this video and didn't like it. It was poorly done with a dry, almost non-existent plot. Watched it once and it went to the dumpster!

Summary: ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVE!!
Review: Seductive. 9 1/2 weeks explores the often overlooked side of human sexuality, power exchange. Elizabeth finds herself drawn into the darker desires of John, but can she give herself over to his all encompassing love? A must see for any off beat enthusiast.

Summary: Mickey Rourke, a HUGe star
Review: Wow! What a flick! My arms are still aching now! The scene on the stairs was pretty engrossing. About the 100th time of viewing i was well into my stride. Nice!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wild Man I mean wild.
Review: Its been along time since I have seen this movie, but when I did I thought it was pretty wild. I think I would like to see it again.
