Rating: Summary: Die Edmond Oklahoma Die Review: I absolutely love this movie. It is on my top 10 of all time. I love it so much i can't watch it all the time because i don't want to ruin it or wear it out. It is a movie for adults actually. They are the ones who can truely appreciate it for what it is. A genuine masterpiece of utter perfection. And the music? What about the music? It's really spooky and cool! Watching Nightmare Before Christmas is like going on a really cool ride at Disneyland. It brings you into a fantastic world only equaled while dreaming. Thank you Tim Burton for creating this wonderful movie! Try watching the t.v show "The P.Js" if you like this type of animation.
Rating: Summary: No offense, buddy... but this is an awesome movie. Review: I recall a viewer from Edmond who thought this movie was "to" violent; it scared his/her little brother. This observation shows not only his/her lack of respect for cimena, but also his/her apparent inability to pay attention to simple grammar. Listen, man: I know that Edmond may be a sheltered Oklahoma town, but you've got to realize that your little brother is no film critic. If he's scared by it, so what? I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but what did you yourself think of the film? Eh? Why didn't you write something positive, like "Wonderful animation", before trashing it like it were "Best of the Best, part 2" or something? I loved the film. It inspired me. I like to think that I can never change who I am and that whatever happens to me is what happens. This film gave me respect for myself and my surroundings. I used to think poorly of Oklahoma. It's boring, but it's my town. Go to your Bible Studies meeting and stop blaming things on movies.
Rating: Summary: Grease over Elfman??? Review: It's beyond my comprehension that someone would actually pick Grease over Tim Burton and Danny Elfman. Nightmare is a great original piece of film.
Rating: Summary: A film buff's must see Review: Forget the kids. Sit back and enjoy this film for yourself. Although it's never lacking in entertainment or originality, it does owe a lot to the silent German expressionist films (especially "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari"). That being said I can only applaud Burton and his crew for daring to be different in this world of cookie cutter animation. If you look at the other reviews you'll find that they managed to offend a few of the viewers. Well I find that's usually true of a great film, and this is in every respect a great film.
Rating: Summary: Die Tim Burtons, die Review: I agree with the viewer of New York, the movie's problem is, that it's to violent (I don't mean like they use guns or has nudity), I'm trying to say is that poeple saw the movie because they though it was a kick ass movie, (that was shown on the preview)but then the theater showed the movie and I took my 4 year old brother(now 10) to see the movie that the new york times called "A Tim Burton's Masterpiece" turn out to be a kind of sick movie for young kids, after the movie my brother never wanted to see this bloody movie again, so guys, if you want to see a really cool musical just watch Grease instead.
Rating: Summary: Great movie! I love the music! Review: Unlike a few other critics, I loved this movie's soundtrack. I think the songs are haunting and original, yet still beautiful. Somebody said that the music is unmemorable, I disagree 100%. The music was fantastic. The movie was also very artistically done. The characters and settings were very unique. And I was surprised how Jack could show so much emotion even with no eyes. An incredible movie. (I know that's not a complete sentence. So sue me!)
Rating: Summary: This Is A Must Have - Not Just a Christmas Movie Review: This is definately a required movie. The issues addressed run from personal acceptance to social interaction and interpersonal relationships. A truly brilliant story with a very moving message. And it looks cool too!
Rating: Summary: Danny Elfman... .....MY HERO!!! Review: This film is a totaly completed masterpiece!!! I mean, anything by Tim Burton and Danny Elfman is high above the rest. But this!!! This takes the price! I've just found the script on the net now so I'm about to see the film again (for the 17th time, i think). AND THE MUSIC!!!!! Danny Elfman is a genius!!!!! Buy the soundtrack!!! AT ONCE!!!
Rating: Summary: Another Treasure From Tim Burton's Imagination. Review: This film was excellent, it tells the story of a skeleton searching for the answer to his "I want" voice. This reminds me of some of the themes in Saul Bellow's book, "Henderson the Rain King." The animation is beautiful in one of it's most tedious art forms-- stop-motion.
Rating: Summary: I'd see it over and over again Review: The Nightmare Befor Chritmas was a excellent movie, even if it is a little kids movie it was the bomb! How they did the whole movie was excellent
