Summary: Citizen Kane? Casablanca? No, this is the BEST movie ever.
Review: From the first moments of the opening scene, it becomes apparent that this is not the average film. The Crow is an amazing feat of story telling that is at the same time disturbing and mesmerizing. Since seeing this movie for the first time, every other movie has been a let down. Saturated in Drama, Terror, Suspense and some moments of Humor, The Crow is the best of it's and any other genre(except maybe that of kids movies) I have seen this movie at least a hundred times, and I'd see it a hundred more.

Summary: This movie Rocks
Review: I realy like this movie which is oveious because I actually baught it... I liked this movie because of the plot, justice for victims; and the dark humor that is prsented trhoughout this movie. I know many people who agree that this movie is one of the best we have seen; and regularly sit around and quote lines from it in our daily conversations. The acting is fairly good, and the dark photography is spectacullar. The costumes are great and the makeup is in all respects interseting. The music in this movie rocks, both the score and the soundtrack. This movie is an all around good movie . the only reservations I have about it are I would not recomend this to young veiwers under the age of 14 or so, because of stong language and violance. Most of the violance in the movie is justified though... any - way this is a very good movie.

Summary: Dark, gothic and nightmarish...just what it should be
Review: I saw this movie when I was 16 and just loved it. It was so dark and edgy. Why don't they make movies like this anymore? I loved Brandon Lee's martial arts action, but also his human emotions as Eric Draven. I could really feel Draven's pain at his horrible losses.

The DVD gives me DTS 5.1 which I adore. The picture was very good and dark.

Just one note, it's not set in Detroit. It's set in Los Angeles.

Summary: Greatest Film Ever Made
Review: "The Crow" is the one film of all time that I actually like more than the book it is based on. "The Crow" is based on a comic book written, drawn and created by James O'Barr. The Crow was an underground comic book made into a film. Brandon Lee did wonderful portraying the part of Erik Draven. The music most of all is the most "Crow like" music being jazz and blues. Besides the rock n' roll, the jazz and blues set the mood for the movie with the gothic atmosphere of graveyards, churches and the ghetto of Detriot. The movie is fresh and deserves an Oscar for its cinematagraphy and production designs. And most of all, what makes this movie good is how it is rated R. If it were PG-13, it would be terrible over terrible. The bad language and violence set the mood of a gritty ghetto and the tortured soul of the Crow. The brief nudity is just opinional.

"The Crow" is probably one of my most favorite movies of all time. I enjoyed it fullly and I hope you do too.

Summary: A True Classic Masterpiece Remastered to the Max
Review: How many of you remember "The Crow" when it first came out on DVD. If you do, chances are that you were very disappointed with it, like I was. It didn't have any extra features, but that's not what upset me so much. What really got to me was how horrible the picture looked. The quality was terrible. It was as if they just copied over the VHS and just put it on DVD. It was bright when it was supposed to be dark. Talk about a let down. But now, everything has changed.

Now, a new and improved version is out, and it is outstanding. It was like seeing the movie for the first time. The picture quality was more than satisfactory. When it was supposed to be dark, it was dark, and when it was supposed to be bright, it was bright. The sound quality was also a big improvement, now that you can watch it in DTS if you have it. There were even some scenes that I could've sworn that I had never seen before. That goes to show you how much better this version is.

Although Amazon doesn't go into detail about the special features, believe they are there. Tons of them, I should say. There's two disks in this collection, so that pretty much lets you know that there are plenty of extras lurking about. A very big improvement on that front.

Here's the story for those who haven't seen "The Crow": Eric Dravin and his girlfriend, Shelly, are brutally murdered on Devil's Night. Eric was shot and thrown out of the window, while Shelly was horribly beaten and raped to death. A year later, a hypnotic crow comes about and starts pecking on the tombstone of Eric Dravin. He digs out of his grave and is back from the world of the dead, and he wants vengeance for the murder of him and his girlfriend. He plans to make everyone who was responsible for the crimes pay with their lives. Dressed in black, with white makeup on his face, he begins his quest for vengeance and justice in this dark adventure.

This still reamains a favorite to me. It is a masterpiece, or at least that's how I feel about it. The movie has everything. Action, drama, suspense, and much much more. The acting is great, the script is outstanding, and the look and feel is better than ever in this new transfer. Believe me, I know it's a pain to rebuy DVDs, but if you are a true fan of the movie and still only have the older version on DVD, get this one as soon as possible. You will not regret it.

Summary: A dark gothic tale of unearthly justice
Review: This is a wonderful flick. The all-pervasive dark overtones are mesmerizing - unearthly justice, love that transcends the grave & an overall style that is rarely seen on the silver screen. It's one of the precious few that I enjoy every few years.

Summary: A Legend: Brandon Lee
Review: After Brandon Lee's tragic death, "The Crow" marks his best performance and will never be forgotten. As a happy, rock singer, Eric Draven (Lee) is murdered along with his girlfriend on Devil's Night. One year later, the man is brought back to life by a crow and vows to get revenge on the gang that killed he and his would-be wife. Venturing into the night, Draven puts on black clothing and puts paint on his face to resemble a mime. He puts his murderers through torture and ultimately gets revenge. Talk about justice. He uses all sorts of things as weapons! He can't die, he's invincible. Oh yes. A police officer with his own problems helps the immortal. Ernie Hudson plays the cop. He's cool. You also have a bad guy with long, brown hair who is also in love with his 'sister'. Twisted souls. He avenges his girlfriend's death and gains a friendship he once had with a little girl. She really needs a different haircut. Aside from the silly girl, the movie kicks major rear. Brandon Lee is a legend. This movie is the darkest comic book movie since "Batman" and it's extremely violent. Not for all tastes, but this movie packs a punch and will make anyone fire it up!

Summary: Brandon Lee's last movie a HIT!
Review: Brandon Lee was assigned the job to take the lead role in this movie as Eric Draven (Lee), a dead rock star of a band called Hangman's Joks. He and his girlfriend Shelly were murdered on Halloween and comes back from the dead 1 year later so he can seek revenge against the gang of killers that murdered him. He comes back and dresses in white and black make-up to diguise himself. Great action, adventure, and excellent classic. Buy this movie if you like action-packed thrillers.

Summary: Awe-ful Goodness....
Review: It is appropriate that Brandon Lee's last film should be so magnificently memorable and meaningful. I think I know why this film is so deeply stirring. Here is the essence of the shaman hero returned from the realm of death to correct profound injustice, profound imbalance. The return from the realm of the dead, the crow as spirit guide, the mask, the music (yes, it would have been more appropriate if he was a drummer, but when does a drummer ever get any recognition....) Here is the age old tale of profound evil generating an equally profound response. Yes, there is a lot of violence in this film, yet somehow it doesn't come across as either gratuitous or self-righteous. Eric Draven has returned to show the conscienceless the true evil and pain that they cause others- right before he sends them to their true judgement.
I've had people tell me that they won't watch this film because they don't like dark and negative images. I tell them that just the "Mother is the name for God" scene will change their minds.... There is a term that is used in this film, "awful goodness", that is a perfect description of the Crow- Awe-ful Goodness.
I always watch this film on the night that it centers around- Oct. 30th- Devil's Night. I consider it to be a treat. Afterall, it is my birthday....
