Summary: My favourite movie!
Review: I loved this movie! It's now one of my favourites. I thought Bruce McCulloch did a great job directing this film, and acting in it. Natasha Henstridge was good, too, as was Luke Wilson.. I thought Janeane Garofalo was brilliant as well. I also liked Mark McKinney as the dog psychiatrist. I highly recommend this film for a laugh and for a good time! Two thumbs up!

Summary: Simply put, a "B" movie
Review: I would like to say that the Mark McKinney scenes make renting the video worth it, but there simply aren't enough of them to justify such a statement. The messages behind the film are a little too transparent to call it clever, the plot and dialogue are a little too trite to call it well-written, and the characters (with the exception of McKinney's dog psychiatrist) are too thin to be interesting. I loved Kids in the Hall (including Bruce McCulloch), but this movie left me as cold as all the rest of McCulloch's post-Kids work. If you like McCulloch's stuff, you may like this movie. Otherwise, there's not much point in seeking it out.

Summary: Seinfeld with a heart
Review: Sometimes movies just work better on television then on the big screen. Bruce McCulloch's Dog Park is one of those instances where without the expectations that paying 10 bucks brings to a movie, a small film's charm can come through.

The story here is really not much of one. Guy gets dumped, girl takes dog, guy walks around complaining about girl who gets dog, and guy then starts falling for another girl with other dog. Yet without an over-bearing plot, the fun of Dog Park comes through, as the characters are given the leverage to express whatever feelings they have about their dating lives. Luke Wilson brings a down to earth quality to his role as Andy, the down-on-his-luck romantic. Wilson gives his character a believable bewilderment about his continuing troubles with the opposite sex. The big surprise here is Natasha Henstridge, making her character Lorna someone who you could actually meet in a bar. Even though shes a knockout, the leggy blond is actually able to fit in nicely to the day-to-day quality of the film.

The dialogue is very sitcom like, but on the boob tube that's not a problem. Wilson's and Janeane Garofalo's characters, chat about relationships in almost the same way that Jerry and Elaine talked about dating on Seinfeld. The only difference is the characters are far more endearing. Garofalos natural likeability for example, is able to shine through in her small, yet very key role.

Dog Park has more sweet then funny moments, there isn't per say a laugh-out-loud instance in the movie. But Dog Park does have a brisk lightness to it with characters who you don't mind spending 90 minutes with. Think of it as a nice sit down with friends movie, that is much better than what is normally on TV.

Summary: supercool!
Review: The first thing you have to be familiar with to understand this movie is the writer/director Bruce McCulloch. If you understand his humour, then you will find that this movie is one of the absolute most genius and hilarious films recently released. I have nothing but praise for this film! I have been an admirer of Mr. McCulloch for years now, and I am happy that he is out there directing/writing and finally getting the recognition that he deserves. Janeane and Bruce make a great team, and fellow Kids in the Hall member Mark McKinney delivers the *perfect* attitude for the role of the "dog psychiatrist". I recommend this movie to anyone who appreciates odd-ballish comedy.

Summary: Not as good as I suspected
Review: The movie Dog Park was not good at all. I found myself crying in the theatre when I wanted it to end. The acting is terrible with the exception of Luke Wilson. The humor was stupid and unfunny It seemed that when the writer ran out of jokes he/she started to use slap stick and over used phrases. Most of the jokes have been heard in other movies, so the movie could be called "Dog Plagerism" I would not recommend this movie.

Summary: Amazingly Brilliant
Review: This movie is one of the funniest I've ever seen, but let me tell you, it's subtle humor. You really have to have the right sense of humor to get this movie. Bruce McCulloch is the funniest man alive and should be doing more movies. Mark McKinney is a hilarious, as well is Luke Wilson. This whole cast just works together so well. This movie is just a real funny, relaxed film. You can just sit back and watch these people's lives. I recomend this movie to every one. Bruce McCulloch my man, you have made an amazing movie. Keep up the good work, and hopefully you'll have a new one coming out soon.

Summary: What can I say...
Review: To fully understand the nature of this film, you would truly have to identify yourself with the comedic artistry of Bruce Mcculloch. This film is brilliant and unlike the common everyday "Hollywood" romantic comedy, it is original and almost anyone can relate to it. Bruce Mcculloch is truly one of the best writer/comedic talent of this generation. If you had seen it once and as closed minded as you are, didn't like, I strongly recommend that you watch some episodes from "The Kids in the Hall", then watch this film for the second time. You will notice that your mind is much more open and broader than the first time. You will then know that not only was I right, but the other reviewers as well...Believe me, you will truly enjoy this masterpiece! Brucio, you are a genius!
