Summary: It Get's Better Every Time
Review: Yes, I went to see this movie simply because it was a "gay" movie. However, it turned out to be much better than I thought it would. I had read reviews in magazines, all of them at least liked it if not loved it. Still, I was a bit leery of a movie with Tori Spelling in it. Boy did she suprise me. I honestly couldn't think of anything wrong with the movie. I thought it was incredibly sexy (the scene with Mark standing behind Gabriel at the piano) romantic (pretty much the whole movie) funny (too many parts to list, but especially Tori's blow up at the end) I thought it was well acted, well written, and felt "real" to me. It didn't hurt that the leads were both good looking. However, this movie should not be considered just a gay movie. It is simply a romantic comedy, and as they go, this was one of the best I've seen - and I'm a major critic when it comes to movies, so it's really hard for me to find one that I would give a perfect score to. I guess if it was out of 10, I might be able to find a reason to take away half a point, but I doubt it. So, if you want a great date movie - honest - then get this one. I promise that by the end both of you will be feeling better than you did at the beginning. So who knows? Maybe what Gabriel and Mark ended up having at the end could happen to you.

Summary: A Simple Yet Incredible Film
Review: Sometimes a movie really surprises you with its simplicity. Sometimes a movie facinates you because of its complexity. With the film, Trick, you get both. I can not begin to explain how this movie does this in such a charming manner. The script is clever and intelligent. The direction is relaxed yet self assured. The acting is wonderful. Campbell is charming and Pitoc is outstanding as the two leads who start out as a one night stand and perhaps begin a serious relationship. And how that relationship develops is such a surprise to both of them is what makes everything so believable. When people fall in love without trying, it brings such warmth to the heart. There's so much more I can write about this film, but the best recommendation I can give to it is that since I bought the film, I have watched it at least once each day, simply because it makes me feel so good and gives me such hope. SEE THIS MOVIE, IT WILL WARM YOUR HEART!

Summary: Nicely Done!
Review: I like this movie. The two leading actors are actually straightin real life - which actually makes it even more appealing. The storyline in this movie could happen to anyone, gay or straight - in my view, what was achieved here is way beyond a gay-themed movie.

Summary: what a movie
Review: This is little too much that people say a word, Gay, on this movie. Yeah, well, this movie is about two gay boys meeting on night at subway and tripped to gay community just to get off for one night sex. But, it has much more charming attractions such as witty scripts and sweet but very realistic love story and excellent acting by Christian Campbell, Jp pitoc and Tori spelling, and good music too (did I say good music? Ever romantic piano and musical tunes that I've heard) that can not be overlooked simply because of gay nature and I guarantee that this movie will make you feel good whatever your sexualities are after watching.

Personally, I loved this movie very much. I rented and watched more than 10 times a week and reluctantly returned it to video shop . ..and finally, I bought three of these movies and give as a present to my brother and a best friend of mine who always forced me to watch straight people's love story, for example, wedding singer or never been kissed, making me all the time squirming.

One of the best movies. Don't buy it. First rent it watch with your girl or boy friend and then decide it. You'll love this one.

Summary: Cutest film ever!
Review: Fine Line Features really grabbed a gem when they produced this film. Mark is absolutly beautiful in this film. DVD still is an excellent feature durring Mark's go-go dancing scene.

But, the story itself is what really makes this film so wonderful. I've have shown this film to many of my friends and each one of them has a big, beaming smile on their face whenever they talk about "Trick". The story is one that many people can realate to: One guy wants to be with another guy, but something is keeping them from being together. However, with enough perpetuation, the obstacle can be overcome and bliss can be obtained.

This film is so cute! I've seen it at least 5 times since I bought it 2 weeks ago.

Summary: it's NOT GAY movie
Review: Trick was the most touching, amazingly charming, neat, witty and full of hopes movie that I have ever seen. I usually don't write a review for a movie or music wasting my precious times. But, this time I have to say about something that I really appreicated and had a good time of it. Anyone whoever contributed to this movie well does deserve to hear praise from us.

No matter what your sexuality is, this is recommendable to anyone. Actually, it's too much to call it a gay movie. I mean, being a gay...well, what's the big deal? I hate seeing people think being a gay so special... I mean you don't watch Wedding Singer just because your are straight or you if you are gay, don't feel wacky whenever you watch men and women are kissing, right? Then, this movie shouldn't be avoided just because some gay materials, then you gonna miss a lot.

Summary: Hidden pleasures
Review: Suggested to me by friends, this movie was a very pleasant surprise. Tori Spelling is wonderfully obnoxious as the self-absorbed aspiring actress, and she sets the tone for two leads trying to find a night of love, or maybe just lust. Christian Campbell is great as the struggling musician: tender, naive, with a touch of hardness he displays once with his trick in his apartment. Partly in self defense, partly out of frustration, he asserts he was just looking for sex, not a lover. John Paul Pitoc comes across very well, giving a mixed performance for his first feature. There are glimpses of a natural comedy sense, and touches of inexperienced actor which make his performance more realistic. He is the hunk who can pick up anyone he wants, but chooses the slightly nerdy musician. He is piqued by the talent at the piano, as well as the potential for a real friend/lover. He is tired of tricks, even though that was his intention at first. And what can you say about Clinton Leupp. Faaabulous. Together with Spelling's interruptions, Leupp adds a moment of brilliance as the bitter ("absolutely") drag queen who is just trying to "save" Gabriel from a hustler. All in all, this movie was a delight, much better than many such efforts from the gay community. Even better is that none of the leads is gay, proving that you can accept a variety of roles without worrying about being typecast. Directing is very well done, music is fun, acting is above standard. I watched it three times before reluctantly returning it to the video store.

Review: Good comedy! not like most gay movies where it's about BEING gay rather than living life. :) Romantic! Funny! Fresh!

Summary: nice try
Review: There are pleasant surprises in this film: Tori Spelling's comedic ability, some nice original music, a pretty cast, and a premise fraught with comic possibilities -- two cute New York City guys trying to find someplace to have sex. But it would take much better writing and character development to make this into the zany farce it tries so hard to be. Nice try, though, and there are rewards. Gabriel (Christian Campbell), an adorably nerdy aspiring song-writer with a quirky smile, picks up Mark (John Paul Pitok), a darkly seductive and well-muscled Go-Go Dancer (do they really still call them that?), on the subway. This is his fantasy man (justifiably so) come to life. The two head back to Gabe's apartment where they find his bubbly, self-centered best friend (Spelling), an actress, printing out 150 resumes. That's planning for a LOT of auditions, n'est-ce pas? It's the first in a looong string of frustrating attempts to be alone and, while there are some funny moments to be sure, the comedic results are questionable. The straight roommate shows up with his own trick and throws them out. In their continuing quest for privacy they encounter a Broadway Queen, a drag queen, and other characters, each more self-absorbed than the last. And they call the 70's the "me" decade! Absolutely no one notices that Mark and Gabe, holding hands and fidgeting and hinting, just might want to be alone. Gabe cannot blow his horn and just say so. It's like an extended sitcom episode. To top it off, after an entire night of getting to know Mark, with some lovely private moments along the way, Gabe insults him by acting like it's still just a trick. Mark, in reel life, is much more forgiving and sweet than a gorgeous hunk is apt to be in real life, so it looks as if things will be alright. Worth watching just for the cute cast. Only deserved three stars, but that bumped it up to four.
