Summary: I thought this movie was very cute!
Review: You've got mail is a very good picture! I thought it was so cute! To me it is the up to date version of Meet me in seattle. I though it was very cute the way they incorporated the internet into the movie for the internet has become a very important part of all our lives.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Renewal
Review: This film "You've got mail", is a high tech adaptation of the Doris Day/ Rock Hudson film "Pillow Talk". Glossed up with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, this version have lost some of the magic bought to us by the Day/ Hudson combination, but the Ryan/ Hanks combination served its full purpose. However, this film is way too cliche and predictable compared to "Pillow Talk". It follows the mishaps of two Internet "friends" who eventually meet and hate each other. This "Internet" thing is actually an advertising ploy for AOL. Anyway, it made some people laugh and that's what matters most in these "feel good" films.

Summary: Unenjoyable
Review: This movie played on the fact that we like seeing these two actors work together and we wanted a cool "e-mail" movie. Too bad it didn't work out. Something in this movie makes you think it was thrown together without much thought. It could have been great. The ending leaves you hanging. I disliked it very much.

Summary: Ignore the hype - just enjoy a simple film
Review: Just ignore the previous history of Hanks, Ryan, Sleepless in Seattle, etc, and approach the film on its own merits. It is an updated version of the 1940s film 'The Shop on the Corner' beautifully filmed and lit, and intelligently directed (yes, some of the director's touches are trademarks, but no-one attacked Hitchcock or Lean for this, did they?). The acting is excellent throughout the cast. The plot is improbable but far from impossible (like most good romantic comedies). If your idea of a good movie is something which *entertains* you will love it. If you cannot get your brain past the idea that a good movie should either (a) star Bruce Willis or (b) be in black and white and preferably in a foreign language, then you will hate it, but equally, you probably don't have much fun in life anyway, and don't deserve a film as nice as this.

Summary: FLUFFY GARBAGE
Review: This movie is possibly the worst movie I have EVER seen. It is a EXTREMLY fluffy piece of junk that should never have been made. I can't BELIEVE an actor as good as Tom Hanks could ever stoop this low.

Summary: YOU'VE GOT MAIL ... YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!
Review: Talk about a slapped together no brainer movie. Does Hollywood think it can throw together any concoction and spoon feed it to us? Apparentally they can with all the 5 star ratings this movie is getting. The writer, actors and those who rate this fluff ball 5 stars should be ashamed!

Summary: A wonderful surprise!
Review: After so enjoying Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle, I was certain that You've Got Mail would never quite measure up to it. It did in spades. The screenwriter's or the director's decision to to have Hanks utter his dog's name before Ryan sees who her AOL correspondent is was outstanding. It was at this moment that I knew that You've got Mail was another Sleepless in Seattle, if not more. Congratulations to Mr. Hanks and Ms. Ryan (in alphabetical order) and to the screenwriter, Mr. Coleman. I have always enjoyed his work. I thank them all for another fine film. That no vulgar language and no gratuitous sex (or for that matter, no sex) was used shows that Hollywood can, if it chooses, produce excellent films for all ages.

Summary: one of the cutest stories I've ever watched!!!
Review: I love this movie!! I especially love how well all the characters interact - they are real people. This is a favorite between my sister, my mother and myself - we cannot get together without quoting lines. I particularly enjoy the DVD format and the wonderful extras included on the disc, like the screen savers, the e-cards and the access to the screenplay on the website. Hopefully more DVD movies will start including these great features!!
