Rating: Summary: Great Series Finale! just disappointed in the DVD... Review: i love friends but i was a little disappointed in this DVD. i thought it would have more on it than just the last episode like the montage of clips they showed when the series finale actually aired or maybe interviews with the cast, but i can't find any of that! all i could find is the theme songs for each season which isn't very exciting because i already have all the other seasons on dvd!! but of course the episode is great and does make me cry every time i watch it :)
Rating: Summary: Extravanganza Review: what the heck , this episode is the final episode and you people are not appreiciating it ,friends is the best ever !
Rating: Summary: Alrighty Then... Review: The whole idea of releasing just ONE episode for the price of $10 is outrageous. Then they try to make it seem worth your money by putting The Pilot on there as well. Ok then. Sounds like another way they're trying to make a buck off of one of the most widely successful sitcoms ever made. The least they could have done is put a bunch of making-of featurettes, gag reels and interviews with the cast on it! But obviously this is lacking the kind of stuff a real Friends fan is intrigued by! If it was $5 it might be worth it to see the 5 minutes extra footage on it. But then again maybe not.My second issue is what's the point of doing a review on something that you don't even like or watch just to express your hatred towards it? And better yet, post that review numerous times becuase we didn't think it was pathetic enough the FIRST time we read it. Grow up people. Write a review on something that you can be senseibly critical about.
Rating: Summary: Don't blame the DVD for the way the show ended Review: I wouldn't call it bare bones, but almost, considering it was a Friends DVD. The real problem with this DVD is that the season sets of Friends have set the bar so high I was expecting more, such as the whole 2 hour broadcast including the look back over the years, the Katie Couric interview with cast, and their appearance on Jay Leno show. (Pssst, to Warner Brothers, and whoever else is in charge, can you do whatever you can to get those onto the 10th season DVD set, pretty please? Maybe even the cast's appearances, first and last year, on the Oprah Winfrey show.) Still, it's not a total waste of money, especially if you don't feel like waiting for the 10th season set to come out. I've spent more money on things I've enjoyed less, such as dinner. As for the ending, I was actually expecting Ross & Rachel to go off to Paris together because of something Marta Kaufmann said. In response to a question about whether the writers would have to tailor Friends ending to keep it line with the "Joey" spinoff; she said "...if we send them [Joey & Rachel] off to Paris it's their problem to get him back." So when Rachel said she was offered the job in Paris, I said, hmmmmm, off to Paris for Ross & Rachel. Maybe they just didn't want everyone to say they were ripping off Sex and the City's ending. But I really wanted to hear Rachel say, "Hey forget the copy girl, we were on a break." That's the line I've been waiting for for 8 years, but you don't see my name in the writing credits so that's not what happened. Marta Kaufman said there would be no reunion shows, but I think we fans deserve one for a Ross & Rachel wedding. Hell, we earned it after spending 2 years waiting for Chandler & Monica's wedding after they almost got married in Vegas. Last of all, I don't understand why people who never liked the show were so busy watching it and hating it. For example, I never liked the "X-Files", therefore I didn't bother to watch it or trash the DVD's because of that. I really enjoyed this show, and even though I almost thought it should have ended a few years ago, at the actual end I felt a little like I did when a longtime co-worker moved on to another company far away. Goodbye "Friends" Break a leg, "Joey"
Rating: Summary: WHY BUY THE DVD IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHOW??? Review: And if you haven't purchased the DVD, why submit a review??? Is it just me or do these questions begged to be answered..... Anyway, I didn't really find anything new in this DVD, the extras included probably aren't worth the price if you aren't a huge fan of the show. However, if you plan on collecting the entire "Friends" DVD collection (as I am), then you'd probably want this to be a part of your collection.... I loved this show and I'm gonna miss this group of wacky and lovable characters a great deal. Thursday was the one night I'd veg out in front of the TV with my family and not worry about language or content. In my book, getting the opportunity to see over and over the moment where Ross finds out that Rachel did get off that plane is worth the price. And the added bonus of seeing Monica and Chandler's quest for parenthood turn into a twofer had this show ending just as it should have. As a hopeless romantic, I needed the show to end just as it did and the writers and producers delivered. In short, if you liked the finale and didn't TiVo it, I don't think you'll regret the chance to go down the "Friends" memory lane anytime you like. And with the state of TV today, and glut of sadistic reality shows, the "Friends" DVD collection is a good thing to have when you wonder why you spent so much money on that 52in Hi-definition television. The collection isn't over-priced like some (i.e. "The X-Files") and after watching any of the episodes, you're guaranteed to walk away with a smile. What more can you ask from a comedy series?? MY ONE COMPLAINT: I think that, instead of including the pilot episode (which diehard fans probably already have with the first season DVD collection), they probably should've included the hour-long retrospective that aired prior to the finale. Having a lot of my favorite moments all on 1 disc would be a nice thing to have. And as for the venom spewing non-fans, GET A LIFE!!! Some of the reviews submitted has obviously been written for the expresss purpose of trashing a show most of them admitted to not liking or even watching. I know that warm, fuzzy, & feel-good comedy isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I can't help but think that if those people looked at life with a positive view, and had real friends who genuinely loved and supported them, they'd see the value of our beloved TV "Friends" in a whole new light.
Rating: Summary: Friends Forever! Review: I'm a big fan of Friends so has soon as I heard the series finale was available on DVD, I immediately ordered it. I love it! It is defenitly going to be something a Friends fan would want!
Rating: Summary: FRIENDS fan forever Review: I was a tad disappointed by this DVD as I was expecting a little bit more from it, but I am nonetheless happy with my purchase as I am a true fan and I think it is definitely worth owning. I have all 7 seasons so far, the 'best of' DVD's, accessories, books, you name it! I am a 30 year old woman who found nothing more 'feel good' on TV than this show. Thursday night was something to look forward to. It was MY 'Seinfeld' except FRIENDS was a show about something. Something you could relate to, cry about or laugh at. I was so sad to see it end. Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross and Joey - you will be missed!
Rating: Summary: Friends Forever Review: First I must say that Friends will go down as one of the best sitcoms ever. Not THE best, but one of them. The comic timing and writing of the first few seasons is masterful. Now, on to the last episode. Was it the greatest episode of Friends ever? No. Was is the funniest? No. Was is the most heartfelt? Maybe. Was it good? Yes. The last episode did exactly what it was supposed to do... help us say goodbye to our six friends, and have closure. We didn't need all the characters to end up in jail ala Seinfeld, or have Ross wake up and find out it was all a dream ala Bob Newhart to make this a good episode. (Of course in my opinion it is still up in the air as to whether Seinfeld's finale was really that great.) What I liked about the finale is that they stayed true to their roots. They didn't go out and try to make something drastically different than how the show was for the last 10 years. It was Friends to the end, and that in it's own way is refreshing. I personally think that some of the extras on the disc are pretty cool. I like having the Pilot and Last episodes on one disc. And, the Rembrandt's Music Video is funny, and the montage of all 10 title sequences is cool. For under $10, if you are a Friends fan, you gotta have it. Now for all you people out there that reviewed this disc just to rip on the show, shame on you. You must be extremely bored people to get on here just to rip on a show that America has loved for the last 10 years. And, obviously no one is going to be interested in this disc if they haven't been a loyal fan of the show. So, I hope that you won't let these ignorant views dissuade you from buying this disc. Friends was a wonderful, brilliant show that will be with us forever.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Show Review: This was probally the best episode of Friend I have been watching it for 9 years missed about 3 episodes when they 1st premier and I really liked the show I was expecting a great episode I am not a cryer but me and even my dad almost cried.Beind a dude I loved Rachel and I thought Chandler and Joey were cool.I loved the ending when Ross and Rachel got back together it will be hard but I will survive they were all Friends we all felt like Friends with them. This was a great show and I will truly miss it comedies-sitcoms rule
Rating: Summary: This DVD is worthless! Review: Let me first say that I am a big fan of Friends. I bought this DVD today because I was under the impression that the "extended version" of the final episode would be better. Well, truth be told, I only noticed about 5 minutes of new material on the DVD. This was hardly worth the $10. The "several other bonus features" as described in Amazon's Editorial description were virtually non-existant. There was the music video for the Friends theme, and a retrospect of the show intros over the years. Ooooooh. Big deal. The "extended version" didn't have any real extras, and it was barely worth watching. I'm very disappointed with my purchase. (Also, it's not so "limited" of an edition. Meijer stores alone have 50,000 copies and they only operate in 5 states. You do the math.) If you already saw the broadcast, save your money. You're not missing much.
