Summary: Pride & Prejudice DVD
Review: Although I love the story and actors, I find it unfortunate that the DVD has been produced without an option for subtitles in English for the deaf and hard of hearing. If anyone knows of a version I can buy which has subtitles as an option, that would be wonderful. My other favorite Jane Austen, Persuasion, has subtitles and I watch it all the time.

Summary: my opinion: better than vhs
Review: I actually like the dvd better than the vhs because the colors are more vibrant and you don't have to change out the tapes every 45 min. It's a great movie to have on in the background when cleaning the house or folding laundry. I highly recomend it.

Summary: Its a forever movie
Review: I loved this movie, and never get tired of watching it. On bad days from work, It unwinds me... and makes me laugh. And, Colin Firth, need I say more, he makes the heart pitter patter. HE is 10 stars!!!

Summary: Enchanting
Review: This is possibly one of the best movies I have ever seen! Although it is quite lengthy, the story makes you want to watch it from beginning to end, no matter what time of day it is. I honestly, recommend it to anyone who is a Jane Austen fan and would suggest it to those who aren't as familiar with her work, for I have found that even they are captivated by this fabulous movie.

Summary: This is one addiction you can afford to have
Review: This rendition of Jane Austen's novel superb, simply amazing! When I first read the novel, I was so taken by it that I immediately started reading it once more after reaching the last page. And so began hopeless addiction to the story. This screen adaptation is probably the closest a movie/series will ever get to capturing the essence of the book or what the author had in mind. The story was retold to perfection and the actors played their roles so well that Jane Austen's characters will be forever immortalized in their faces. Mrs. Bennet was superb, Elizabeth outstanding, and who could forget the annoying Mr. Collins? And ladies be warned! you will fall in love with Mr. Darcy! I watched the tape version countless times but I must admit the DVD set takes the tediousness out of the whole process. All in all this is quite the collector's item and well worth having. Viva Pride and Prejudice!

Summary: This is the best!
Review: I first saw this BBC production when I loaned it from my local library and then I became hooked. I now have it taped so I can look at it whenever I wish. I have always heard of this version ever since it was shown on A & E for the first time and it was a huge sucess. I have read Jane Austen's novel but prefer this great adaptation instead. The story between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett is just so damn intriguing it blows me away sometimes. This film is what I consider a really romantic film, the looks that Mr. Darcy sends Elizabeth's way all the time is so enthralling and romantic it's unbelievable. You can seen him falling in love with her throughout the entire film. It is true to the novel about 95% but who cares, I just LOVE it!

Summary: Appreciation for the Classics
Review: I don't read Jane Austen but the movie was good. Mrs. Bennett is trying to get her two oldest daughters Jane and Elizabeth married off. Jane is in love with Bingley, a newcomer to their town. Elizabeth is turned off by Darcy because he is aloof. She does fancy his half-brother who is outgoing and courteous towards her. But things aren't what they seem above the surface.
The title speaks for itself. Each one has too much pride in oneself and assumes the other is not of their expectation. However, as people get to know one another, they do realize that they have something in common or like what that person is.

Summary: The Best Ever!
Review: I thought this DVD was really good. I really got me more interested in "period" style movies, and now I can't get enough of them! I highly encourage anyone who is thinking about this movie to watch it, I know that you will fall in love with it!

Summary: Delightful Adaptation of a Great Classic
Review: I have heard this movie described as the best adaptation of a book ever made - and I think it is no exaggeration.

They of course start with a great story - a classic romance greatly enhanced with its sublte humor. Like any great classic, it's hard to put your finger on only one "moral", but it is filled with timeless themes of justice, integrity, honor, and, of course, romance. But the movie brings it to life with great acting, incredible costumes, beautiful scenery and well-chosen buildings and settings (they even had a period chef working to make sure that the meals were just right!).

I could go on and on, but here is a great deal of cultural, literary and entertainment value all in one movie that will be enjoyed again and again.
