Review: Joel and the bots are confronted by hideous musical numbers and the even more hideous Arch Hall Jr. Hilarious.

Summary: Ehhh...
Review: To start things off, I just want to say that Joel is NOT my favorite human on MST3K. That being said, I this episode was mediocre. The movie was a plotless and ridiculous big foot type movie with so many chances for amusing comments, you couldn't count them. Unfortunately, the comments that the boys made weren't all that funny. Some times they were funny, but this is perhaps the worst movie I ever saw and they didn't come up with half as much amusing things as I'd expect. I don't recommend this dvd.

Summary: It's Like "Manos" the Musical!
Review: I had the horrid horrid misfortune to see this movie sans Joel and the 'bots and it hurt, it hurt a lot. Towards the end I was thinking about blowing my brains out, I seriously wanted to hurt Arch Hall, sr. and I wanted to cut out Arch Hall, jr. vocal chords.

So for those reasons I assumed that the MST3K crew would be able to turn this trainwreck into a laughterpiece, and while there where some jokes that had milk almost coming out of my nose ("Hey where's they're collection of dead people?") and who could forget the disembodied voice going on and on about snake, it is still painful to watch Eegah.

I would almost argue that this movie is more disgusting than "Manos" (I say almost because I don't want to get beaten up.) Roxie shaves her Dad, does up his tie and then takes him with her to a party. Her "Boyfriend" isn't much better. At any time he breaks out into song and you can't help but join in with Joel and the 'bots for Eegah to beat him senseless.

Maybe it's just me, but this movie even with the crew going at it, and the thankful segment breaks (Which really are hilarious. Joel get's turned into the ugly teen in the movie) is still to painful to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public.

Whatever you do, do NOT watch Eegah without the MST3K crew there to help you.

Oh and Watch out for snakes!

Summary: Mike Nelson is Cool!
Review: I don't care what anyone says, when Joel Robinson was announced to be leaving MST3K I hesitated to embrace anyone else. But now, over 10 years later I look back and while i appreciate what Joel has given us, I applaud Mike and his understated enthusiasm. How funny the show was after Joel.
And yet, we are stuck with this TERRIBLE movie. Yes, I realize that Mike and "the bots" are subjected to MANY bad movies. I find this film to be one of the WORST! A bad caveman, weak plot, terrible actors, the blonde-stupid-singing-ugly guy and that ... Dune Buggy!!!
This movie smells to high heaven. Thank god Mike and the Bots are there to rescue us. Unfortunately, the stink of this film stays on your hands for a day or two after watching the film.

Summary: Watch out for snakes!
Review: This is another fan favorite MST3K episode that has been given a Rhino release. The DVD version features both the MSTied version and the uncut, non-MSTied version as a bonus. Here is a brief plot summary:

A rather unappealing young man (describe accurately by Tom Servo as a "cabbage patch Elvis") and his girlfriend Roxy have a run-in with a creature in the California desert. No one believes them, of course, but they convince Roxy's dad (played by directer/producer Arch Hall Sr. aka William Watters) to go check it out with them. After finding evidence of the beast,(one footprint) dad decides to take a helicopter into the mountainous region that they believe must be his home. He was right, and he gets nabbed by the extraordinarily ugly Eegah, played by the extraordinarily ugly Richard Kiel. Roxy and Tom go searching for dad, and after the most boring and un-fun looking dune buggy ride through the sand dunes, Roxy gets kidnapped as well. Despite his best efforts not to wet himself, Tom can't find the cave hideout where dad and Eegah take turns pawing at Roxy. She and dad eventually escape and find Tom, who then taunts Eegah by riding right by him in his dune buggy several times. They get home safely but Eagah tracks them down and attacks them at the worst pool party I've ever encountered, that has the worst band (fronted by Tom naturally) i've ever heard playing at it. Tom gets into a fight with some guy, who then gets thrown into the pool by Eegah. But in the end Eegah is shot several hundred times by the cops and he falls lifelessly into the pool. I can't say that I was terribly sad about it, but i wished it was Tom instead.

This episode has some really great moments. One in particular is when the microphone picks up the voice of the director or somebody saying "watch out for snakes!" as the gang is searching for Eegah in the desert. There are plenty of other great moments, and the host segments are all pretty good, too. I highly recommend this episode.

Summary: Bad movie, mediocre MST episode
Review: On this DVD you get 1) MST's version of EEGAH, lightly edited for content and/or running time 2) and the uncut theatrical-release version of the film, or in plain speaking, EEGAH. The uncut version is funnier than MST's version. The MST crew are just spinning their wheels here; they point out the obvious (Arch Hall is funny looking, and his songs are bad) and can't seem to take EEGAH to another level of entertainment, as they do in their better episodes (see, e.g., LEECH WOMAN, which isn't for sale). The DVD is worthwhile for the uncut EEGAH, and if you're hard up for an MST episode to watch, this one is serviceable.

Summary: Watch out for Snakes!
Review: This episode of MST3k is definitely one of my favorites! Who wouldnt like this one? Well, someone who doesn't appreciate the humor in such bad, bad films. But I gotta tell you. I genuinely like Arch Hall jr.'s songs in the film. If only those songs were on soundtrack! Too bad I can't enjoy looking at his face. He sure has a face for radio. Joel describes him perfectly when he says he "Looks like the bat from Ferngully". I guess they needed an even uglier person than Richard Kiel so that he wouldn't be upstaged! But that's saying a lot. All I can say is brace yourself for the shaving scene! There's just a whole bunch of oily actors and bad voice dubbing in spots! Blame Arch Hall Sr. for directing it. And thank Joel and the Bots for making it funny! So go buy yourself a copy of Eegah. Do it today!

Summary: Another Great episode to one of the best TV shows i've seen.
Review: The movie presented here " EEGAH" is about a Caveman who seeks
a Rich man's Girl while Arch Hall jr ( a 60's Leonardo Dicaprio
lookalike) must rescue her from the terrible Man-Beast. The movie
itself Stinks like Batman and Robin or Battlefield Earth derserving a Woof rating from critics but thanks to our Robot friends with Joel they can devour this terrible movie.
