Summary: ReAnimator fans will cringe...
Review: Long before Herbet West creeped us out in the 80s, there was Dr. Bill. Bill has been doing some creepy things up at the cabin in the mountains, and this time, he's taking his fiancee up there with him. In an unexplained speeding frenzy up a winding road, they crash; Bill survives, but, well, only SOME of his girl Jan does.Bill scampers away from the burning mess of the car with a bundle, and we quickly realize it's Jan's head he's hiding in his jacket. Once he gets to the cabin, he sets Jan up with lots of tubes and percolating things and administers her this life-giving 'neck juice.' Is she happy to *somewhat* still be alive? Hell no! She's a freak now and ain't proud of it. The remainder of the film is Jan mocking Bill's eerie assistant and bitching at Bill. Funniest scene: Bill's method for shutting up Jan. Mike's first episode as the test subject of the 'Mads is definitely worth watching. Crow & Servo do their best to break him in, and it's a really great episode. Fans who find themselves missing Joel should know that, as the series head writer, Mike wrote many of the skits and lines Joel spoke, so while the host changes, not a lot else does. The Invention Exchange--a basic component of Joel shows--is slowly phased out, but Mike's invention is definitely a good one. A cameo at the end by Mary Jo as Jan is hilarious, and as is normal in most of the Mike episodes, Mike manages to tick her off too. Bill is creepy and easily unlikeable, especially when he goes trolling for a body for Jan! EWWWWW!!!! A must-see for Mike fans!

Summary: HISTORIC EPISODE
Review: This is Mike Nelson's very, very, first episode! And it's great, Mike almost seems natural right away, however he seems much more cheery and happy, when he seems more deprest like Joel in the later episodes. But I like Mike and Joel equally, I like the different voices of Crow equally, but Murphy as Servo butchers Weinstein (the original Servo voice) however, if it weren't for Weinsten, Mike Nelson wouldn't exist on the show... (visit the info club site for details) Getting back to the movie, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, is not half as bad as many of the other movies they riff (Manos, me and my brother have shot better movies at age ten with an 8mm cam.) and I've always like the series since I was little, but I'm now here at 14, and have just recently (2 years) LOVED it. Anyway, it's a great, historical episode, and Mike Nelson is interesting to watch in this one. Note: I am "Carol's" Grandson, not Carol

Summary: Just a normal Tuesday for Cher...
Review: Even though my favorite episodes are Pod People and Mitchell, this one is a close third. As Mike's first episode on the SOL, the bots have been training him for his first experiment. Mike fares pretty well on his first movie. However, most of Mike's quips lack the cynicism that we have come to expect, know and love from Joel. At one point, he says: "You sleazy...You know, I don't like this guy anymore! That's it!" Don't get me wrong, he is still hilarious. Tom and Crow are at the top of their game in this one, rattling off sarcastic lines almost faster than one can catch them. "Can I have that back? Yeah, I kinda need it; it's my NECK!" "It's nice and all, but I want something sleazy." "Well, she can't have a cardboard body, I've ruled that out." During one of the host segments, the bots convince Mike to share a painful thing from his past, which is sad or funny, depending on your point of view. The movie ends strangely, Mike remarking, "Oh, I get it! It was a comedy!" Anyway, the guys are "visited" by the character in the movie, who gets mad at Mike.
So, buy this episode, 'cause it's good.

Summary: The Brain That Would Not Die
Review: Without a doubt one of if not the funniest MST3K shows. This one simply deals with a woman who loses her head (literally)in a car accident with her fiance. He keeps the severed head, and attempts to find a new body for the girl. How does he do it? There are ways.
What makes this movie funny is that the movie is so bad. The movies actual ratting was 1/2 star. Unlike some movies, this has continuous talk, and is easy to make fun of. A must see.

Review: "Um, doesn't she need lungs?"
"No. She has neck juice." Mike Nelson, in his first episode as an actor, seems to fit right in in this lousy '50's sci-fi "shocker." This time, the movie isn't that bad, but Mike and the Bots find plenty of memorable jokes. The movie itself is about a mad scientist who gets into a car crash only to have his fiancee decapitated. So he rushes on over to his cabin and put her in magically revitalizing fluid (or "neck juice" as Crow so sensitively put it) and she becomes a nagging housewife, minus everything below her neck. This is a nicely done episode, not really one of the best, but it's a quintessential look at how the show works. For somebody just getting into the series, I would advise you to either watch MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000: THE MOVIE or this episode first. After that, you'll be begging for more!

Summary: Very, very funny. Old sci-fi movies can make anyone laugh!
Review: As a huge fan of MST3K, I enjoyed this episode a great deal. If I'm not mistaken, it was the first episode starring Mike Nelson, who took over for Joel Hodgson.
The film they watch follows the series of a few days of a doctor with a bad case of the Frankenstein syndrome. His passion for trying to bring life back to dead tissues reaches an ultimate point of weirdness when, in a speeding drive to his cabin, his car crashes and his fiance is torn apart in the process. Staring at burning car, he reaches in with this jacket (with a comical "Take this honey, it'll keep you warm" from Crow) and pulls out what the boys identify with disgust as a head. He takes this to the cabin and then decides he must find a body for the head he has rescued.
I highly recommend this movie. If you like MST3K, and even if you don't, you can't help but laugh at least at the "Neck juice" jokes if nothing else.

Summary: Jan in the Pan is My Hero
Review: This movie is a royal stinkburger but luckily Mike and the bots are there to make it interesting. This one has all the makings of a funny episode. This one has mike on his virgin voyage through one really bad movie but good thing Crow and Servo are there to help. The movie itself is the story of Jan in the Pan and her really sick man. He keeps her head alive with brain juice and then he goes to the Moulin Rouge to find her and tries to find her the sleazies fifties housewife body imanginable. Where is Nichole Kidman when you need her. In the mean time Jan developes a pyscho bond with the beast in the closet. I gues she really wanted him to come out. So anyway she orders this thing to kill. It is really bad and funny at the same time. It may not be Manos but it's still funny.

Summary: The Best TV Show i've seen.
Review: Since 1996 when i saw the Movie and the Show, i instantly got hooked into the TV Show. It became one of the Best TV Shows i have seen with Sonic The hedgehog, Swat Kats, and Transformers.
The Movie here " Brain that Wouldn't Die" is a 1962 classic
So-Bad-It's Good movie, it deals with a Man who's Finace is
decapated in a Terrible Accident and her Head is brought back to life with a special Liquid but soon she has deadly results.
The Movie on this Disc not only has the MST3K crew but it's in the Uncut form with the Gore, and i think this film has been one of the inspirations to 1985's Horror Comedy " Re-Animator". Great TV Show, by far one of the Best TV Shows i've seen in my lifetime.

Review: How can anyone laugh at a film about a deranged scientist looking to cut off a woman's head so he can transplant it onto his girlfriend???
Very easy while watching this movie. THe lines are sharp enough to cut your head off, so be careful. Dark humor is often the best. What is worrisome is the original, unannotated version. What were they thinking???

Review: All the MST3K DVDs are worthwhile for the episodes they contain. One rant, however… I do wish Rhino would introduce some level of consistency to the disc production. I get the feeling all of the MST DVDs were made in someone's dorm room.

Notes: This movie is really hard to find and considered a collector’s item. The only difference between the movie and a TV episode are a precious few amped up special effects, makeup and they hired a real actor to play in one of the skits (which I feel is a tragic mistake). It is not worth the $(...) that it is going for in Amazon’s Used section unless you’re a diehard.
