Summary: Must own....
Review: If you know anything about Sanford and Son, or grew up in the 80s watching the re-runs on TBS, then you have to own this. You cannot get over the easy laughs. There have not been many shows or any of its kind since. This is one of kind, good old fashioned entertainment. I own both seasons 1 and 2. When the next one comes out and I hope it will, then I will buy that one as well. Have fun.

Summary: I love it, but...........
Review: Ilove the shows on this dvd. I was just a little bothered that there was not a "play all" option on the disc. I like to watch these types of dvd's like a marathon and it was inconvenient to have to select each seen over and over. Keep in mind there are several shows. Other than that this is classic and everyone should have the whole collection. Wonderful comedy!

Summary: Good Episodes!
Review: More of Fred is in this and more Aunt Esther! The episodes are:
The Big Party
Rated X
By the Numbers
Light House Keeper
Blood is thicker than junk
Have gun, will sell
Whiplash
and more!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fred continues to entertain.
Review: More unforgettable episodes.

01. The Light Housekeeper: When Fred feigns injury, Lamont gets a housekeeper that is lazier than Fred.

02. Blood is thicker than Junk: Lamont wants to prove he is able to make it on his own, Fred is too proud to admit he needs Lamont. By the end, they both hilariously proclaim they are right as they get back together.

03. By the Numbers: Dreaming up lottery numbers, Fred decides to take a trip to Vegas, only to have family and friends suddenly have a string of bad luck that requires his winnings to fix.

04. Card Sharps: Fred tries to educate Lamont on the way cardsharks operate. Ron Glass gives a great pre-Barney Miller performance.

05. Whiplash: Hit by a white man in a black cadillac, Fred thinks he is sitting on a gold mine.

06. Have gun, will Sell: An attempted robber is foiled when Lamont comes home early. In his escape, the robber drops a gun that Rollo convinces Lamont and Fred to sell.

07. The Dowry: Cousin Grady (not the same Grady as the later episodes) comes to visit from St. Louis with his new wife and overweight stepdaughter. When Fred learns she gets a good chunk of change upon marriage, he sets up Lamont, but Lamont has the last laugh.

11. The Puerto Ricans are coming: Another Pre-Barney Miller actor Gregorio Sierra was a long time regular and the even tempered neighbor that showed Fred's racist side.

The list goes on and on. This is a worthwhile collection for fans of the series as well as the younger generation.

Summary: Always a great laugh!
Review: My family actually watches tapes of the Sanford & Son episodes everynight. I've used Freds parenting skills, as well as his jokes in my daily life. Fred & Lamount, and all the other gang, really make you laugh because their lines are natural, something I might hear at an Aunts house, or Uncle, or grandpa..saying stuff like "you big dummy", and "are you crazy"! Those are classics.

Summary: One of the Greatest!
Review: Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson are one of the greatest TV comedy teams of all time...right up there with Kramden & Norton, Andy & Barney and Lucy & Desi. These two guys had such a great rapport with love and respect for each other that shone throughout each episode. SANFORD AND SON had a lot of things going for it that superceded anything against it. The show also had consistently terrific studio audiences that helped the viewers laff factor; (ie.) Foxx could deliver a lame line and still get guffaws from the audience which made me laugh even harder! In this collection, Aunt Esther finally makes her first appearance (replacing the so-so Aunt Ethel) and begins her reign with a boom and a swing from her purse. Julio (Gregory Sierra) moves in next door which brings some of my favorite all-time episodes. Nathaniel Taylor's character Rollo gets more defined and the comedy gets even greater. DO NOT PASS THIS COLLECTION BY.....THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TELEVISION COMEDIES OF ALL TIME.

Summary: The Best Comedy in Years
