Summary: I'm bemused by this plucky painting!
Review: Probably the worst movie they've ever watched (with the possible exception of the Coleman Francis movies), and one of their funniest episodes.

Summary: "MANOS" Hands of Fate... or fatality
Review: I stumbled across this MST3000 episode "Manos" Hands of Fate recently. I was in hysterics within the first 10 minutes of the movie, the first time I watched it. Maybe I have a totally warped sense of humor, but...this is the funniest movie I've ever seen! It's also the worst movie I've ever seen! It's the MST guys that make it a classic. Thay are in peak form. One of my favorite parts is at the end when Mike plays Torgo as a pizza delivery man. TOO funny! I've watched this movie a bunch of times and it never ceases to make me laugh.

Summary: The Master orders you to suffer through this "movie."
Review: This is one of my very favorite Mistied movies. You must see it if you are new to MST3K. You will not believe how cheesy this alleged "movie" is,and you will laugh yourself sick after the shock of incoherency wears off. It's not you!! It's our favorite goat-boy,TORGO. The actor who plays him makes any of Ed Wood's,or Coleman Francis' "actors," Academy Award material.Seriously. Do not miss this if you are fond of horrible movies.Mike and the "Bots outdo themselves. With this much material to scoff at,Marcel Marceau would have laughed out loud.

Summary: Joel and the bots barely get this one into the boat...
Review: Watching MST3K's Manos:the hands of fate is like watching a group of friends struggle to bring an enormous marlin out of the water and into the boat.
The movie itself, Manos, is such an abominable creation that you can sense it's desire to just be left alone to sink quietly into the depths.
But Joel, Servo and Crow are dedicated and persistent. They rescue this flop movie again and again. Several times I reached for the remote thinking I couldn't take any more, but in the nick of time a clever quip would elicit a laugh and the movie would be saved for another few minutes.
Throughout the length of the film, it's viewing fate teetered dangerously on the edge of being switched off.
In the end the boys from Gizmonic institute manage (just barely) to gain the upper hand and you end up laughing more than you cringe.
What is Manos:the hands of fate about? The story is so incredibly bad that it doesn't justify a description.
But know this, if Manos was a fish you wouldn't throw it back for fear of it reproducing.
This is awful, AWFUL movie watching, but if you are in the mood for a little pain with your pleasure then you will certainly get a kick out of this classic MST episode.

Summary: It's so bad it's great!!!
Review: "Manos: The Hands of Fate." is a pure MST3k classic, being a fan of the show since 1991, I must say that this is the worst movie ever made. I had never seen this episode until recently when i bought it here at Amazon.com, and I must say it is in my top five, and number one at the worst one they riffed, worse than Zone Cuba, worst then yes, Pod People, Manos is the perfect movie to riff, and the Torgo Pizza Segment at the end is terrific, funnier than 90percent of all segments! Buy this movie, even if you're not a fan of the show, and you'll crack up 100% guarenteed!!

Summary: I hurt myself laughing...
Review: I bought "Manos" on my dinner break, brought it home and watched it after my wife went to bed. I almost got a hernia from stifling my laughter so I wouldn't wake her up. From the "poopie" reel to the short "Hired, part two" to the actual movie, the zingers never stop coming. One scene from "Hired" sticks out in my mind as a gutbuster. Old Man: "Isn't that what Harry taught you?" Younger Man: "Why, the first thing Harry drilled into me was.." Crow: (interrupting) "Was Harry!" Holy cow, man I laughed so hard. If you've never seen an episode, this is a great one to start with. Between the outtake reel and the short film this disc has the most extra features of any of the MST3K episodes on DVD.

Summary: You know, Hands: The Hands of Fate
Review: I thank God everyday that I did not stumble on this movie without the MST3K cast there to combat the epitome of truly horrible movies. Only a fertilizer salesman could conceive of a movie where a pale scrawny man dressed in a black poncho attacks guests of his hotel with help from Torgo, a "man" who chooses to stuff footballs down his pants. The movie was shot on a camera so cheap that audio had to later be re-added, and this shows through when a cop speaks with the same voice as the protagonist. Scenes seem to have been edited by a blind man or possibly a chimp, and as Joel and the 'bots point out, the whole movie seems to have been made simply for the women who wrestle in diaphanous gowns.

This movie could have been the one that had broken the MST crew, but they came out fighting and turned it into a MST3K phenomenon. It is a favorite of many MSTies and it is even so bad that the Mads apologize for sending it.

Even the short is gut bustingly funny. Hired part II involves a pompous old man who seems possessed as he dispenses wisdom to his doughy middle aged son on how to sell cars.

This, I think, is the one MST3K episode that definitely lives up to all the hype. The final segment where Mike Nelson shows up dressed as Torgo should have a little warning on the screen: Do not be eating or drinking anything while watching. You could laugh so hard you may choke.

"Manos: The Hands of Fate" is pure gold!

Summary: Listen lady, I got the moves of a wallaby!
Review: This has to be one of the best Mst3k episodes out there. But at the same time, the movie they're watching is one of the worst out there. Unlike other Mst3k episodes where the episode collapses under its own weight from the movie they're watching just being TOO bad (e.g. "The Hellcats"), Joel and the Bots make a hilarious tour de force out of a plotless El Paso disaster.

Before the film starts a very funny short called "Hired: Part II" plays. During the course of the film, Joel and the Bots: 1) accuse one of the main characters of swatting at invisible flying elves 2) make salesman look incredibly dumb 3) put words into everyone's mouths. It's a hoot! But not half as good as Manos...

Manos concerns a couple and their child on their way to a valley lodge in the middle of nowhere (as Joel so aptly puts it: "Manos: The Hands of Fate was filmed on location in a vacant lot."). For the first ten minutes of the movie, scenery passes by to the tune of a wildy inappropriate song. Finally they end up at a shack where a man with huge knees and a straw hat introduces himself as Torgo. He tells the family that he cares for the house while "The Master" is away. What follows is one of the stupidest films you will ever see, but the crew of the SOL prevail with laughs galore!

This is a nice disc, especially when compared to the other Rhino DVDS. Although it doesn't have the uncut version of the film (For good reason. You'd probably go crazy halfway through it without Joel and the Bots to entertain you), it contains a 30 minute bloopers reel entitled "Poopie". The scene index is surprisingly sharp: each scene is shown with a mute clip from the scene, rather than just a still from the scene. The main menu shows Joel, Crow, and Tom watching a scene from Manos while "the haunting Torgo theme" resonates in the background.

This disc is a gem. A must-have for any MST3K fan.

Summary: one of the best MST3K ever!!!
Review: "Manos" the hands of fate is possibly the worst movie EVER made. Which is what makes this Mystery Science dvd so ... funny. Joel and the bots come up with some of the craziest and funniest lines that make this simply priceless. Also with Poopie the outtakes reel as a bonus feature on this dvd it's possibly the best value mst3k ever! how could you not rush out and buy this. A great and VERY funny dvd.

Summary: THIS is why MST3K was made!
Review: I realize that there is a short before this film, but I have forgotten it. In fact I have forgotten almost everything about this film. Except that it was long. It was long and stupid. It was long, stupid and quite pointless.
Yes, I know that most MST3K movies are made with the hopes that Joel and "the bots" can salvage it. But THIS film....well, it is beyond ALL hope. It starts off like a college film class project, a family driving. And driving. And driving. And then getting lost. (And what's up with the "kissing couple", is THIS their occupation?)
Torgo (Mr nelson) makes his debut performance and only the fact that many other times will Torgo appear, only this allows you to watch this film.
It is bad. It oozes badness. The opening scene goes on for what seems, 16 hours. And THEN the film starts!!!]
I hate this movie. But I thank Joel and the bots for getting me thru it. This is truly one of the WORST movies ever made!
