Rating: Summary: BUY THIS DVD Review: will ferrell is mad funny and whoever reads this should definitaley buy this DVD. It has all of his best work and the extra features are great.....watch his audition, its funnier than anything.
Rating: Summary: Not just the best of will ferrell, the best of snl Review: Will Ferell is the 2nd funniest cast member of all snl. when he quit snl to move on to bigger and better things, he was replaced by the funniest cast member ever on the show :Kenan Thompson. Kel Mitchell would have been funnier, but Kenan has better impresions. Next to will ferell In my humble opinion would be: Steve Martin. But no one acted like Will Ferrell. I can't wait to see elf.
Rating: Summary: Where's the best? Review: I am a HUGE Will Ferrell fan and I was extremely disappointed in the skits that they chose to put on this DVD. Where is the skit with Jim Carrey? Why did they cut half of the skit in the conference room where he wore the Stars and Stripes on a thong? Still hoping to get a DVD with his best skits on it. He is so extremely funny and most of these weren't.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: There are so many great Will Ferrell skits but these are just a few of his most hilarious. Be sure to check out the extras, because the Gus Chiggins skit is the best and who could forget.....Goulet!
Rating: Summary: hilarious but missing funnier bits Review: There is no way you can view this DVD and NOT laugh at some point. However, I have to agree with what many others have commented: there are too few skits, and many of his funnier skits are not present on this DVD. Two of these include his portrayal of the corporate businessman's childlike temper tantrum, and an older commercial (I think it was a "Time-Life" parody) of classic Thanksgiving family arguments in which he plays a father who keeps losing it when family problems arise at the Thanksgiving dinner table. In sum, although this compilation certainly contains hilarious Will Ferrell moments, it does not truly capture his "Best," as the title suggests.
Rating: Summary: Can't go wrong with Ferrell but this was disappointing... Review: I love Will Ferrell as much as the next fan. He is a true comic genius, as demonstrated by his SNL audition (which is included on the DVD). However, I disappointed by the selection of skits included on the DVD -- there were so many other skits exponentially funnier than those included. As the other reviewers noted, it was a bit short & limited, and those that were included were funny (as you can't go wrong with Ferrell) but not "the best" as the title states. As a huge Will Ferrell fan though, I would still recommend it to other fans. Just don't expect "the best."
Rating: Summary: fat guy in a little coat Review: This rocks...it's the best dvd of the century!
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Omissions Review: As a big fan of Will Ferrell, I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunatley, there is very little content overall and his two funniest scenes ever were not included: the sketch where he is an ad exec and acts like a child and the sketch in which he is interviewing someone for a job at an in-flight magazine while berating and even assaulting his current employees. With all that capactiy, why are so few skits included? This seems to be a bit of a money grab by Mr. Michaels.
Rating: Summary: A Little Short, but Good Stuff Overall Review: As has been written by other reviewers, there are far too few of Will Ferrell's greatest skits on this disc. I did find most of the skits on here very funny, though. The dysfunctional family one could have been left out. The Celebrity Jeopardy skit cracks me up every time I watch it...actually, it would be great to get all of the Celebrity Jeopardy sketches in one set. I remember so many of these being hilarious. The extras are very funny, especially the Robert Goulet stuff. If you buy this disc, be prepared to laugh, just don't be surprised at the 72 minute length.
Rating: Summary: A summary of Will Ferrel Review: I agree that this dvd does not have all the moments that made Will one of the greatest comedians in my mind. We must, however, realize that the grand moments we individually have might be found stupid or lame to others. I personally wish they included those commercials where Will ran for councilman and won but was still pestering his opponent (parnell) This DVD is a must, the scene that never aired, his early appearances on Conan, and his audition for SNL, ohhh my god the audition is so incredibly funny, I just died watching it. The actual SNL clips do leave out many great moments but to contain most of the best of WIll. Blue Oyster Cult, Inside the Actors Studio with Charles Nelson Reilly, the devil and Garth Brooks, and the dinner scene where he drives a Dodge Stratus. This is the single funniest DVD that I have ever seen.
