Summary: Like wine, Sex gets better with age
Review: I adore Season 4 of SATC. I love seeing the women evolve. Carrie and Big's relationship has moved from an emotionally draining mess to a beautiful friendship (just watch The Agony and the Ex-tacy and I Heart NY to see this). Carrie and Aidan are a great couple and I loved seeing them try again--one of my favorite moments is when Aidan is resisting getting back with Carrie and yells "You broke my heart!" wow. Miranda softens up and seems human. Her "oops" pregnancy is realistic look at a single woman in her 30s finding herself pregnant and wondering if this is her chance to have a child. Charlotte continues to be a bit of a Pollyanna, but realizes that her fairytale life isn't heading for a happy ending. Samantha finally accepts love which is great to see (although the lesbian detour doesn't work). I loved this season!! I enjoyed seeing characters I love moving away from being carefree singletons to hopeful couplehood and family life. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha take life by the balls and try their best.

Summary: Half Reality Half Fantasy
Review: I have loved every season of SATC, but Season 4 feels different. I didn't want to watch the episode where Carrie & Aidan get back together after she cheats on him with Big. This season brings more reality than fantasy by showing the "humanness" of everyone. Samantha has a human side to her when she has feelings for Richard. I always thought Samantha couldn't love anyone. Carrie finally finds out that she's not ready for marriage when her skin breaks out after trying on a bad wedding dress at Tasty Delight. Charlotte finally sees that not every marriage is perfect when Trey doesn't want to try to have a baby. Miranda decides to keep the baby after fearing that she couldn't have a baby when she is ready to have one. The previous seasons gave me an impression of all the characters. I thought Miranda wouldn't keep the baby, Charlotte would try everything to have a perfect marriage, Carrie would get married to Aidan, and Samantha would never love a man. This season reflects more on the odd realities of dating, marriage, relationships and life. The only fantasies I see is marrying a perfect guy, good looks, great sex & great personality and being able to buy Manolo Blahniks and designer clothes on a writer's salary.

Summary: This Man Like Sex and the City
Review: Sex and the City rules from a male perspective. I started watching Sex and the City with my mother when it first aired and have not be disappointed by the show. This review is based on the whole six series of SATC. All the main characters are honest, funny, and shares a similar desire. Carrie's character is a sex columnist for a newspaper. Carrie uses her own personal experiences as well as her girlfriends experiences to compose a column about men, women, sex, and relationships. Samantha is extremely sexually active women who works in Public Relations. Miranda is smart, self assured lawyer who is cynical which leaving her to fake her emotions about relationships. Charlotte is prim and proper Park Avenue women who goals are to get married and have a family.

The reason why I like SATC is because it give a comedic version on sex and relationships. No matter what happens to your own social life, you can watch SATC and share the same humorous episode of what Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte did, and learn to laugh a upon at your own situations. These six series will be treasured and revisited by me.

Summary: Come For The Sex, Stay For The City...
Review: I began watching Sex and The City last year when I got the first season on DVD as a birthday present. TV shows on DVD always seemed like a wonderful idea to me, so I began watching this series hoping to find something to indulge myself in. What I found was amazing. It only took me two days to get through the first set. I imediately rushed out to get Season Two and watched that in about a week. Thankfully for me, it was only about a month or so until Season Three came out. I watched season 3 savoring it as though it were my last breath of air. Since then I have seen a few episodes from Season Four (mostly the end of the season) and watched the disappointing 5th Season on HBO. I recently found out that you can download sex and the city episodes on Kazaa, but I'd rather wait and watch carrie & co. on the finest format available. I know my review wasn't very helpful as far as reviewing Season Four, but if you find yourself coming across this and you haven't ever seen Sex And The City, I urge you to drop whatever you're doing and pick up the first season. It's as good as everyone says it is. I can't imagine anyone not being able to identify with one of these four characters, if not all of them. The show is funny, refreshing, touching, smart and very endearing. At it's best, its all of these at the same time. The performances are wonderful, the cast is the best and the storylines are both very realistic and very addictive, making every episode of Sex as memorable as the first.

Summary: Completely Obsessed
Review: I love "Sex and the City". The funny thing is I really didn't watch it until after it got canceled. Anyways, here's what happened.

Carrie(Sarah Jessica Parker)joins a fashion show. Then she and Aidan get back together. They get engaged and she hurts him...again.

Samantha(Kim Cattrall)dates a woman named Maria. Then she falls for Richard, her boss.

Miranda(Cynthia Nixon)gets pregnant and almost has an abortion.
In the end, she keeps the baby. She and Steve have a son named Brady Hobbs.

Charlotte(Kristin Davis)gets back together with Trey. They tried to have a baby, but fail. Trey decides not to have a baby.
And they end up apart again.

This is the funniest season of "Sex and the City". I can't wait to see seasons 5&6. Enjoy!

Summary: Save Your Money - Buy the First Three Seasons Instead
Review: Hate to rain on the SATC love fest here... well, actually, no I don't. First of all, let me start off by saying that my girlfriend and I were huge fans of the show - the first three seasons. Sunday nights we watched religiously each week and the shows were absolutely terrific so I WAS a fan. We both were and Sunday nights WERE "Sex and the City" (followed by "Six Feet Under" and "The Chris Isaak Show"). But after watching the season premiere (season #6) last night we are fans no longer. The series has become stale, predictable, and (to quote Mike Myers' character Dieter from SNL), tiresome. And the downfall started in this, the Fourth Season, actually in the very first episode of the season. Why do I say this? Mostly the show's writing is to blame. And the exact moment at which this started happening? The moment where Samantha says "yes" to a lesbian relationship. If you were watching this - and if you were a fan of the show, of course you were - there is a moment, actually a somehwat poignant one, where Samantha is considering getting involved in a relationship with a lesbian artist (Sonia Braga). In retrospect, what hinged on this decision was not so much about the character Samantha but actually was the future of the show itself. Little did we know at the time but that "yes" that the writers wrote into the plot line actually doomed the show. Why? Because, if the writers had bothered to construct a backstory for Samantha, like all good novelists and screenwriters do (or should), they would have seen how out of character it was for her to do that. This is a woman who, up until this point, abhors relationships - with MEN! Not that she doesn't like to have a good time ("sworn to fun, loyal to none") - and a good time she does have. But Samantha considers relationship entanglements to be anthema. So she's going to go for a lesbian relationship?! ("not that there's anything wrong with it" - Seinfeld). I don't think so. A fling perhaps, but not a full-blown relationship. As far as I'm concerned, the series lost a good chunk of credibility right there. Further proof from season 4: the famous one testicle, one ovary, near-immaculate conception between Miranda and Steve. OK, this one might have happened to somebody, somewhere so it's perhaps not as implausible as Samantha "switching teams" (albeit briefly). But sadly, season 4 is not nearly as funny, smart, or even interesting and memorable as the first three seasons were. There are precious few episodes worth remembering here. Mostly, the girls seem content to trade off increasingly cheesy and smarmy one-liners - which are more suited to men, right ladies? - going for the easy laughs and as much intentional shock value as possible (again, the writers' fault).

The larger problem is that of all cultural icons - and yes, this show did become one - when they become increasingly popular; the old adage of "nothing fails like success" applies here. As the show gained in popularity you could actually see and feel the self-congratulatory and smug, "we've-got-a-hit-on-our-hands" tones in the writing. Episodes became increasingly formulaic and the whole show seemed to lose its cutting edge. You doubt this? Put on any - yes, any - episode from season 4 with those from seasons 2 and 3, when the show was really hitting its peak and watch carefully and compare. Those shows from season 2 and 3 made their "points" on the battle between the sexes more elegantly, efficiently, with more humor, smarts, sex talk, and just plain anything else you care to name. Even season 1, when the fledging show was still finding its way, has way more to offer than season 4. By season 4, SATC can no longer delight or surprise us. It can only sink under the weight of its previous success and expectations of further success.

Season 6, which just began last night, is the final season in the series and this is a good thing because it is painfully obvious now that the series has run its course. Last night's episode was just plain painful to watch (disjointed, rushed, lame story line). But the downhill slide started in season 4 and has just continued gradually with only occasional flashes of what the show used to be (the truly touching episode in season 5 with Mr. Big leaving for San Francisco is a rare winner post-season 4). Neither my girlfriend nor I will tune in to the show now as it winds down this year, but we will continue to watch the DVDs from the first three seasons when we need a good light-hearted laugh for a good many years. Not season 4 though. Skip this one and pick up the first three on DVD because they are truly soon-to-be "classics". Chances are you already have those. If so, it's a good place to stop.

Summary: couldn't be better
Review: I am a die-hard Sex and the City fan, have seen every single episode and have fallen deeply in love with the character of Samantha.

I had the three seasons on dvd before this one and kept wanting to buy this one, but I kept putting it off and thankfully a friend bought this for me and it was the best gift ever! I put this into the dvd player with shaking hands, and I will tell you what..... this is everything I could have ever expected if not better.

The stories are wonderful, you get to see Samantha fall in love,...and you also get to see Carrie get a marriage proposal from Aidan even though we all know what happened with them. This saga continues... I know that the next season is the last one, and I will be one of those people who will cry when the show ends, but if you like COMEDY and DRAMA and all the things that make you feel alive, you will be hooked on this show.

It spins laughter into every day sex, adds romance to the unromantic, and brings together the closeness of four completely different girls who have one thing in common - the search for the compatible man.

Summary: My Favorites
Review: This season features some of my favorite episodes of my all-time favorite show. Since I have found SATC and the "New Sex Now" dvd, my life has been transformed 1000% for the better.

Summary: You Go Girls!!!
Review: First off, I love season four! These ladies never cease to amaze! (Wink, wink! Nudge, nudge! Knowwhatimean, Knowwhatimean!) Okay, enough sassy innuendo!. These are some independent gals! Season four finds them pushing the racy envelope, while also tackling more serious issues. Oh, what a lovely tapestry they weave, when first they practice to allev... iate -- all of us from tired old social conventions!! These four little ladies know how to have fun! (They don't cook, clean, and be quiet when a man is talking like women should do). So what happens? Well, Aidan's back with the 'lil pixie, and they're living in sin! And Miranda gets pregnant -- out of wedlock, like she never listened to Republican warnings!!! And Samantha... uh... plays for the other team, just like Newt's sister!!! (Can you believe it?) Enough said, see it for yourself!!! (Either buy it through Amazon.com or from someone who doesn't speak English -- the material is that racy!!!) If a show with similar writing was acted out by men, I'd give it 3 stars. Now, I don't believe in affirmative action... but these little ladies could use a boost -- 5 stars!!! I'm proud of you, girls!!! (And I'm smitten with the pixie!!!)

Summary: The Best Season
Review: This is by far the most exciting season. Each character in this season has a story plot that's full of hilarious twists and turns. There's never a dull moment for any of these ladies. I loved every episode and couldn't wait to see what happens next!
