Summary: Great, and it gets better each season!
Review: Season one was great and I own this DVD set because I can't get enough of it! But I actually think season one was the weakest of all...it just keeps getting better! But Season One needs to be the introduction so that the latter episodes make sense! So if you can't purchase them all, run to your local video store and rent Season One and then buy Season Two (and three when it comes out!)

These characters are quirky and funny and brutally honest. I think "Sex and the City" is like "Seinfeld" with more mature humor and women who have substance! (OK, I loved Elaine, but there were a lot of women in Seinfeld that really lacked any substance...but I guess many of the men did too!) While the humor is more mature partly due to the fact that this is aired on cable, I also think the writing is just better. They often take the same approach as Seinfeld and they explore the everyday things that we often don't think about, but they do it with more insight and depth. Perhaps it is because they can do that since they have four strong women as the characters, rather than the Seinfeld bunch of mostly-shallow social-rejects. Now, you might think I don't like Seinfeld...but I actually do! It is great for a good laugh and there are some classic episodes that are some of the best TV moments ever. However, I like Sex and the City more because it takes what Seinfeld did and improves upon it. I don't know if they did it consciously, but to me the parallels between the shows are obvious.

So I love Sex and the City and I recommend Season One and all of the seasons to follow!

Summary: Must see!
Review: Not having HBO, I had only been able to see a few episodes when over at friends' places. I am so glad that I bought the first season so that I could get caught up on the lives of the 4 main characters! This is quite a trip into the lives of single women and how they think.
The first season is a great intro into the second season which (believe it or not) is even better!

Summary: Wonderful! The Season That Started it All!
Review: You must see the first season of SEX! Get the low down on the history between Carrie and Mr. Big. If you are like me, however, be careful not to get addicted! I think I watched the whole season in only 2 days!

Summary: Wow
Review: For those of you who are new fans of the show you must see it from the beginning to to truely understand the characters. The first season is great. You will be hooked once you start watching it.

Summary: A six-hour movie...in installments
Review: I had not seen this series prior to purchasing the DVD on a whim. I now know what all the fuss is about: this is a well-produced, well written and well acted work. There is a continuation from show to show which greatly contributes to our interest in these four characters (and others with more minor functions). We are privy to a fairly good treatment of various themes, which are developed in an uninhibitedly fresh and thought-provoking manner. Sexy, intelligent, entertaining and stylish -- not a bad combination. One caveat: no one on this show is particularly enlightened -- it's not quite THAT intelligent.

Summary: What you you say about this?
Review: Sex and the City needs no introduction. It's one of those few shows that's funny enough, and the episodes are short enough that you could watch it over and over again. It's nice to see the 30 minute episodes put one after another, as there were some I'd missed, or maybe even some scenes I missed. There really isn't any special extra footage or anything. Just lots and lots of Sex in the City. I do find the price to be a bit much, though.

Summary: AWESOME!!
Review: This DVD is awesome! It was very informative for me, I wanted to find out what all had transpired since I just started watching on New Year's Eve when they had 12 episodes - one whole season - of Sex and the City on HBO. Anyway, one of the things that sticks out is the way Sarah Jessica Parker's hair is always changing. I think this is great for the personality she portrays. You find out that Mr. Big was there from the beginning and you watch all these men go in and out of these 4 women's lives. My husband was HOOKED, ladies. He thought it was nice how the stories pick up where they leave off. It is alot like opening a book when you pop this CD in your DVD player. Awesome quality picture, we were very impressed with the clarity. Hope this helps......

Summary: The BEST!
Review: I have watched my DVD over and over again. This is the season that made this show a hit. The episodes are funny and never get old. This is a DVD you can curl up with for hours! It's also great for a girls night in, a bottle of wine, and bonding. I highly recommend!
