Summary: Very cute film
Review: Whatever It Takes is an adorable teen movie. It tells the story of Ryan (Shane), an unpopular kid in high school, who falls in love with Ashley (Jodi Lyn), Miss Popularity. He needs help getting Ashley to notice him, so in comes Chris (James), Ashley's cousin who is also very popular. Chris wants to date Ryan's best friend Maggie (Marla). He convinces Ryan that he has good intentions for wanting Maggie and that in the end, they will both have their dream girls, so Ryan agrees to the plan.

Unfortunately, Ryan doesn't realize until it is too late that he's totally mismatched with his dream girl and that Chris is a total jerk.

The cast is absolutely amazing, and they do a wonderful job. This is one of the best teen movies I've seen in a while.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to see a good romantic comedy.

Summary: lousy
Review: Whatever it Takes is my pick for the worst teen comedy ever made. Miles below She's All That Never Been Kissed and American Pie and yes even worse than Can't Hardly Wait and the horrifying Melissa Joan Hart disaster You Drive me Crazy, Whatever it takes is boring an inept from start to finish. 2 guys join forces to help eachother get the girl of their dreams. 1 girl is the jock guy's cousin. The other girl is the best friend of the nice guy. It rips off a little Cyrano and a little She's all that. Complete with the cliched prom scene climax and the twist ending that you can predict from the first 5 minutes.

Summary: Whatever it takes...destroy this movie
Review: Whatever It Takes is the worst teen movie i have ever seen. Working in a video store and seeing the preview a billion times, i figured the movie would be at least watchable....but i was wrong. I thankfully got it for free from pepsistuff.com and i was tempted to send it back. The actors try their best to save this monstrosity, but it fails on every level and becomes a cheap knock off of She's All That at points. The plot is unbelviably cheesy, even for a teen flick and the ending is predictable. Half way through I was hoping for at least a slight swerve to the generic formula but that didn't happen. For a comedy, the movie is also very unfunny. The only redeeming value of the entire movie is the fact that the movie seems to realize how bad it is within the last 30 mins and starts redeeming itself. In fact, the last half an hour even made me laugh a few times and made me wonder whether one person wrote the god awful first hour and someone else wrote the latter part. The last half hour is the only reason the movie gets 2 stars instead of one. If you want an expensive coaster for your drinks, this is definitly the DVD to buy. Otherwise, avoid this thing at all cost and buy American Pie or, if you really need a cliche movie, She's All That. Two movies that at least seem to have been written by humans instead of chimps.

Summary: Worst teen romance flick I have seen....
Review: Whatever it Takes...

This movie was not even worth my time in watching it. I even heard it was so good I bought it and I hate it! I love teen/romance movies but this one was not one I will ever watch again and struggled to get through the first time!

Reading the synopsis will let you know just what the plot of this movie is. My thoughts skip this one all together.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: When I first saw the trailer to this film, I honestly wasn't impressed. It just looked like another pointless teen film (like "She's All That"). When I rented this film I wasn't expecting much. And when I watched it for my first time, I didn't get much. HOWEVER.. when I watched it again (a day later), I realized that this really is a great film. So what I'm saying here is, be optimistic about this film, or you may not enjoy it.

Anyway.. in my opinion, this is a great teen flick!

Summary: Better Than The Average Teen Movie.
Review: While watching WHATEVER IT TAKES, I thought I was watching just another teen movie. However, during the last third of the movie, the film became original. The parodies became a salute to one of the greatest films ever made, and a lesson was taught. Not too bad for a movie among myriads aimed at teens.

The movie takes the story of Cyrano de Bergerac, but with a few changes. There are no ugly people here, even the geeks are attractive. Also, instead of one person using another to win the heart of a woman he thinks he can never win, the movie uses two; a geek becomes friends with a jock so he can get the school's beauty queen to love him and the jock uses the geek to get the geek's best friend to fall for him.

The movie contains a message about staying true to oneself. The message is delivered in such a way that it seeps into one's conscience without knowing it. Also, towards the end of the movie there is a great scene taken directly out of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. The movie doesn't parody that film, but in the nod of acknowledgement it does poke fun of TITANIC.

Overall, an averge romantic comedy that's a lot better than the average teen movie.

Summary: If you like to feel good, then there is no better movie
Review: Yes, its a teen movie and yes, all the 'high brow' critics will sneer at its simplicity, but isn't simplicity the entire point of this type of movie?! It doesn't attempt to be 'clever' or make a statement. What it does is exactly what people want it to do and that is ENTERTAIN.

I have personally defined a new genre of films, which I call 'Feelgood movies'. Basically, they are films which make the viewer feel good. Simple, eh?! Well, its a little more complicated than that actually ('Feelgood' even has subgenres!), but the point is, that as someone who has seen a lot of 'feelgood movies', I can honestly say, this one is one of -or if not- THE best feelgood movie you will ever see.

If you like teen movies or movies which leave you feeling good then this is for you, without a doubt. As far as all those people who say this is not a good teen movie, well, they are blatantly wrong. I have seen -and bought- almost every teen movie there is available and I can say that as someone who has seen many of these films, that Whatever It Takes is one of the best.

Normally, with most teen movies for most people, once they have been watched once, they cannot be watched again, but with me I find that they can all be watched hundreds of times, with the right ingredients...

This movie is best watched with an a supply of alcoholic beverages and snack food to reach full 'Feelgood' potential.

To sum up, this movie is not a masterpiece of film-making, BUT IS a masterpiece of 'Feelgood'. Go buy it now, or any other teen movies for that matter!
