Summary: Absolute Best Slasher Movie!
Review: I saw this movie when I was 10 and it scared me so bad. Now, watching it... I still feel afraid to be alone. This is one of those movie that grabs you from the start and drags you through every bumpy road until the end. You'll laugh, cry, and then walk away petrified that this could actually happen and that the characters are very true-to-life. I still love this movie with and undying passion. Buy it now if you haven't yet seen it.

Summary: A real Scream
Review: Scream dawned the new age of horror movies, paving the way for countless modern imitators.

The story sets on a small, pleasant town called Woodsboro, which one year ago witnessed the brutual murder of the mother of teenager Sidney Presscott (Neve Cambell). Now, the killer appears to have returned, and is believed to be stalking the daughter of his original quarry. Sidney and her friends, including the town sheriff (David Arquette), must resolve to catch the brutal murderer before time runs out for Sidney.
As you can tell, plot is not the film's selling point, but Scream has many redeeming qualities that mark it out from it's competitiors. Scream is not your average slice 'n' dice slasher film. No, this film has a brain. The use of wit is one of the greatest strengths of scream, for scream is scary, gory, witty and intelligent, all at once.
The film is cheifly a horror film. This is always obvious throughout scream, it never becomes too much of a parody, it contains many gory sequences and the death count is very high, considering what is going on. The killers in scream are brutal, psychotic, and will stop at nothing to catch Sidney. But the film is original too, it is one of the first in a new age of horrors, where, instead of the killer merely going up to his victims and disembollowing them and the like, he first teases them, in fact scream is very noticable for its heavy use of portable phones as objects of terror.
Scream lampoons other movies within it too. The film's director has made many horror films before, so he obviously knows what he is doing, and it shows in scream, from 'halloween' to 'friday the 13th', many references to older horror movies crop up during the picture with some frequency. Although frequently scream can be as much a funny parody of old horrors as a horror itself, it never loses its key objective, and produces some graphic shocks, and uses wit about them too.
In scream, some of the murders were either intentionally or unintentionally quite funny, for instance the one commited in the garage with an electric gate. Such uses of humour and wit in a horror may believe you to feel that scream is too much of a parody and is sadistic, but i felt this was not really the case. What scream is actually trying to do is to question the plausibility of what went on in many 80's slasher movies. It does this very tongue-in-cheek and is in many ways an ironic and amusing (albeit gory) satire of earlier horror films. None of this was really done before, most horrors used to take themselves far too seriously, but the lashings of wit in scream show that this is actually a, dare i say it, clever slasher movie, and wins full marks for originality.
But don't let all this fool you about the true nature of the movie. Scream contains graphic close-up deaths, and a very gory ending, and this is in places a very nasty film in what it portrays. Sometimes scream could have cut half the gore and racked up twice the tension, so whilst scream is always witty and inventive, it isn't quite a masterclass of horror.
But despite these flaws, scream is a very good film. Although not a family film, i would suggest anyone who has an interest in horror or parody should see scream, and this DVD has a rightful place among most collections.
Unsurprisingly, scream done big business at the box office and spawned two inferior sequels. Scream itself though, is a superior thriller without a doubt.

Summary: a new movie for the horror-slasher generation
Review: Scream is a great movie. It's from the writer of "I Know What You Did Last Summer"(Kevin Williamson)and the director of"A Nightmare on Elm St."(Wes Craven). I liked Scream because it's the frist horror movie to make fun of horror movies meanwhile making fun of their own movie without knowing it.Scream is full of laughs, scares, and great acting. My favorite actress besides Jennifer Love Hewitt is Neve Campbell, she is the best actress in the movie. Also liked the acting of David Arquette and Courtney Cox.My favorite character in this movie is Sidney because she's pretty fearless and can beat Cox's character Gale Weathers.

Now here is why this movie got 4 stars instead of 5 stars. It's because it had small or no storyline in it.it's about 5 teens who are getting killed by ghostface (the killers in the movies.hint hint key word "killers".)because he likes horor films and decides to kill peoples.but Sidney thinks that it's somehow related to her mom's murder one year before. At least that some what a story line that you can get in this movie.

I also like this movie because it's gory.my favortie murder in this movie is when Drew Barrymore's character Casey is gutted and hung from a tree. There r more than thatlike a real disgusting throat slashing, a girl getting her head dented in by a gargae door, and another gutting.I must say that this movie is way too gory, but i still like it. Now I alsoreccomand sequals "scream 2 and Scream 3" because they have storylines, and less gore.and before I end this review, I aslo reccomand "I Know What You Did Last Summer and sequal "I Still Know".I also have reviews on this site for the following movies:
1.Scream
2.I know what you did last summer
3.I still know what you did last summer
4.Urban Legend

Summary: Do you like scary movies...?
Review: ...then you'll love this movie. Have you ever seen a scary movie that is actually scary, has a sizzling cast and an "Oh my god" who dunnit - showdown in the last few years? Scream is an absolute diabolical terrifying movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first second to the last scream.

It starts pretty easy with a fabulous Drew Barrymore who receives an anonymos phone call and she thinks he's out for a flirt but what he really wants is to play a deadly "who wants to be a victim" quiz and when you play this quiz, you don't have a fifty-fifty joker.

Now after the terrible murders have been committed at the edge of Woodsboro, a peaceful town (or so it used to be) in sunny California, the police thinks that they are related with the brutal death of Maureen Prescott, mother of Sidney Prescott, which happend nearly a whole year ago. Maybe they aren't so wrong. One day later Sidney is attacked, and everyone suspects that it's her boyfriend who pops up the second she has been attacked. But when he's in jail, she receives another phone call. Now everyone is a suspect and everyone could be a victim.

For Sidney's protection her friends organize a party where the three rules of surviving a horror movie are confronted with every party guest:
1. You can never have sex.
2. You can never drink or do drugs.
3. And never ever under any cirumstances say "I'll be right back"...because you won't be!

With these words the killing spree has begun, after all tomorrow is Maurren Prescotts "one year death anniversary". And the killer will do anything to have Sidney dead on that day!

Filled with loads of shocks, great acting, a stunning music score, a slam bang showdown, an original screenplay, a sensational opening sequence, and a great "who dunnit" ending, this movie gets a full five stars! (Would have been six)
Buy this movie...Today! And prepare for the ultimate in terror.

Summary: Time to scream!
Review: A very good Scream, but also the bloodiest! Good jumps, great storyline, good acting, but way too much blood! I don't mean to be creul about the scream sceries but they should have not put so much blood. Sydnie and friends are getting stalked by someone. A person who could be their friend, their relitives or even their teachers! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! But I still think that Scream 2 is way better but not as scary...

Summary: Original Teen Horror
Review: This is one of my favorite scary movies. It's based around the lives of high schoolers as they start to be murdered but, it's not what you expect. The film mocks the cliches that plague slasher films, while at the same time, affectionately embracing those cliches. After the fantastic opening scene, the audience will have no idea which way the film is going. It's better than most horror films, and I personally consider it a classic.

Summary: Breath of Fresh Air
Review: Scream has to be one of the greatest horror films of all time! It has everything: romance, suspense, humor, and shock value. It was so nice to see this film after the string of terrible sequels (Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street) that were made in the 90's.

What made it even better was that this film paid homage to many, if not all, of the films I mentioned above. There was just the right amount of humor mixed in with the jumps and gore.

I would highly recommend this film, especially if you want something different than the typical slasher flicks.

Summary: TIM ADDAMS IS AN ...!!
Review: This movie ... as a horror film. Better viewed as a comedy. I watched this one alone in the dark and laughed my head off. Even my sister ... got scared in Jack-O thought this film was hilarious and she also watched it alone. If you're looking for good horror see Halloween or The Exorcist, or even Friday the 13th, but if you want a laugh out loud side bursting comedy, see Scream. I garantee you'll be laughing and NEVER SCREAMING during this comedy.
