Summary: Crossing a great line
Review: Britney Spears stars in this excellent film debut. I love her because she has a feel good feeling and so does this film. I can't beleive why so many people slagged this film off. Any way it starts with Lucy-a teenage nerd who is a school boffin, she meetes up with her ex-best friends and they decide to go on a road trip together. Britney wanting to see her mum for the first time, Kit wanting to see her boyfriend and Mimi wanting a record deal. So without any money and a broken car, Lucy and her friends are stuck, so who can sing? Lucy and she does, winning loads of cash and getting the money to pay for the car, she carrys her jorney on, Learning her mom don't want her, Kit's boyfriend has cheated on her and MiMi can't sing.So that's the main storyline the rest of the film iS up to you to see. It's one of the best film I've seen and I can tell you It will be yours

Summary: Not the best, but at least up to par
Review: Granted, I went into this movie as a teenage, male, Britney fan. No, I do not just like her for her looks and body. I enjoy her music, and I like how she just stays true to herself. I see many people commenting about her acting. Please, people, this was not like Glitter (Which I saw as a Mariah fan, but did not enjoy it at all, and the way her face twitches at the camera annoyed me). I would at least place this movie next to Coyote Ugly. Britney was definitely just as good as Piper Perabo was in that. I also see some older women commenting on what Britney "promotes" in this movie. Hmmm..I find this funny. It's a movie, ladies. It's called "acting." Wow! What an insight! Britney is not promoting a single thing. Welcome to the wonderful world of make-believe. Also, there are many movies that promote MANY worse subject matters. Did you also realize that the movie is rated PG-13? I seriously DO NOT think there is anything in this movie that a 13 year old shouldn't already know about. If they don't, then they are way too sheltered, and life will hit them hard eventually. Another thing about her acting comments...let's not forget the rave reviews Britney got after both of her Saturday Night Live performances. Even Rolling Stone magazine, which usually despises pop and it's creators, loved her on SNL. They called it Britney Night Live. She is an all-around entertainer. You don't have to like her, but it's kind of silly to hate her. The movie is somewhat predictable, but it's just supposed to be light-hearted, and targeted at girls in their mid teens. Britney also was in Broadway plays at the age of 10 and 11, after studying acting, dance, and singing at a NYC Performing Arts School. Let's get real here...you don't make it on Broadway at that age if you are horrible. Ok, so she's not Jodie Foster or Julia Roberts, but wouldn't the movie be rather silly if one of those actresses played Lucy? (I must laugh) So many people talk about her using it as a commercial for her singing as well. I seem to recall that every singer turned big-screen actress has done this as well. Mandy Moore, who I also think is decent, sang in The Princess Diaries and A Walk To Remember. Even as a fan I would only give this movie 3 stars, just for being more realistic when it was humorous and sad than most teen movies. I give the extra star just for enjoying Britney's work, and her bravery in trying this out, knowing many people would throw their opinions out assuming Britney jumped up and yelled, "LOOK AT ME! I'M THE NEXT JULIA ROBERTS!" She never once said that, folks. No, she's not perfect. Can acting EVER be totally perfect, though? It's always going to be fake. Are operas or musicals displaying how people really are when being dramatic? No, but those are also forms of acting. Be that as it may, I think she was just as good as many of the other teen actors. I think it's good that she's not perfect. She can give other girls hope that they can make it as well. She's just living many teen girls' American dream, and I just enjoy the way she makes many people's faces light up while watching her do that. Even my mom loves watching her. If you do one thing before seeing this movie, just keep an open mind, and give a human-being a break.

Summary: A Fantastic GIRL MOVIE!!!
Review: For all the Britney haters out there, eat your heart out. Her movie is great! The whole cast is brilliant! Britney did an astounding job for her first outing. I don't care about the people who hates her guts, but please, I admit, she performed way better than Mariah! Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning did a good job "supporting" Britney (that's a joke). The emotional scenes were really heart-wrenching, especially Britney's heartfelt breakdown in the comfort room with Anson Mount. And all the laughing and joke scenes showed how the three girls are really being girls and just having fun.

But the film is not completely flawless, mind you. I was dissatisfied with the audition performance of Britney, which looked like she was "lip-synching" the song. She should've performed it live (or they should have better dubbing!). I was also disappointed with the "cameo" appearance of Kim Catrall. The movie didn't show her exactly why did she leave poor Britney. The movie just let Britney do all the talking and we're supposed to understand it. Justin Long's character was funny but really not important. And Dan Akroyd was so underacting!

The story was simple and straightforward. It tackles all issues affecting all teens and I was surprised that I related to the story! Tamra Davis played it safe with this one, especially with Britney on her back.

My advice, watch this movie with your girlfriends, because this might be the best girl movie I have seen for the past 2 years. Bring a lot of munchies and a little hanky because scenes might make you teary-eyed (i know i did!). that's all.

By the way, I'm a guy!(hehe)

Summary: Pleasantly surprised!
Review: I took my 16 year old daughter to see Crossroads, thinking that it would be "just another teen movie." But I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of plot and characters and it was actually entertaining! I came away with more respect for Britney Spears as an artist!

Summary: cheese anyone?
Review: I went to go see this movie because, to be completely honest, I was curious. After Justin Timberlake's HORRIFYING stab at acting, I had wondered if Britney would follow suit.
Her preformance wasn't as Vomit-inducing as Justin's, and I give her credit because this was probably her first real stab at acting. BUT MY GOD. THAT STORY LINE!!! I got out of the theatre with I thought: "I just paid [money] to see a 2hr after-school special. what a rip. oh well, at least Anson Mount is a hottie."

Given that this is Britney's first major role in a movie and that I wasn't expecting much to begin with (b/c of precedence set by Justin), I decided to cut her some slack. Not everyone is an actor, but with a little work (and a better story line, preferrably one she doesn't come up with) I think that Britney can become decent actor.
Britney Spears get two stars for her valiant (yet VERY cheesy) movie acting debut, and one star for Anson because of above mentioned reason.

Summary: The best movie ever!
Review: I think that the story was a real life story u hear bout teens not being as close through highschool but they never get back together here is a good example plus its what all teens would like to do go with friends on a road trip! And they all did great acting! Im a Britney fan and loved the movie but i know poeple who really do not like her but still loved the movie. Because it is just a great story and it funny plus it has its sad parts to make it seem very real. So i think with all this together it really was a great movie!

Summary: Britney Spears a Role Model?? I don't think so!
Review: Britney Spears is a role model to so many childern. Yet in her movie "Crossroads" Britney supports driking, date-rape, permarital sex, out-right disobedience, etc. If I had childern I would not let my childern go watch this movie. This movie supports the falling morals of our nation. I think we need to encourage our childern to go to clean, family movies. If we let our childern keep watching movies with hated, drinking, and sex our youth will not get better, but worse.

Summary: Acting?
Review: Eventhough I love britney spears and even opened my own site ... i still think Britney needs some acting lessons because the acting isn't too good, but since i love her so much, 5 stars is good! :P

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not highbrow or complex. but who cares! enjoyable.
Review: now i didn't expect this film to be great, it seemed just average pop trash. But i went with ma little sis, and hell britney spears is in it ;-)... but on the whole, i thought it was pretty enjoyable. The acting faltered a few times, and the storyline was just a little transparent, but when Britney starts singing, she has a presence that grabs you, and just makes you smile! :-) i think most people are gonna lambast it because its' blatantly a vehicle for Britney - and the supporting actors aren't fantastic either - Britney and Anson Mount (Ben) were the only two i actually enjoyed watching, they seemed more genuinely in character...
anyway, i liked it - was entertaining pop movie - didn't blow me away, but i can think of worse ways to spend 90minutes
