Rating: Summary: Perhaps the Greatest Movie Ever (Filmed in San Dimas) Review: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is one of the funniest movies that we got out of the 80s, although that might not be saying much. The plot is creative and original, but you can't expect full on reality because thats not what the movie is about. Keanu Reeves is extremely funny and so is Alex Winter. Some say that Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey is better, but the original is definately the better of the two.
Rating: Summary: Bill S. Preston ESQ and Ted Theodore Logan create a great mo Review: Alright I don't have this movie, but am buying it as soon as possible. Rating: Summary: Radical in all the wrong ways - snapshot of modern America. Review: Friends of mine I respect adore this film, so I guess I should judge it on its own terms. It certainly captures a moment in post-modernity when history became a flat nothing, reduced to propaganda for the great project of American amnesia. I'd like to think the whole thing was sarcastic, never mind subversive. I wouldn't mind, but they get a relatively good idea and do nothing with it. You've got all these famous people from history, and you don't try to see how they'd spark off each other, or how they'd genuninely react to 'our' world. I suppose there is something subversive about taking self-important Great Men (and token woman who dressed like man) and making them ridiculous, but that would be satire, and this settles for sniggering. The inane script, thumpable acting and non-existent visual style are meant to be endearing. I guess I'm old-fashioned - it made me feel violent.
Rating: Summary: BILL AND TED ROCK!! Review: WHAT A FANTASTIC MOVIE!!CAN'T BELIEVE IT 10 YEARS OLD ALREADY. I STILL WATCH IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND KNOW ALL THE LINES. [AND THEY'RE GREAT I CAN TELL YOU] THE 2 EXCELLENT ONES [BILL. S. PRESTON ESQ AND TED 'THEODORE' LOGAN] HAVE A DILEMMA. THEY HAVE TO PASS THEIR HISTORY REPORT OR THEY FLUNK OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL... WHAT DO YOU DO, WHAT DO YOU DO? WELL ~ WITH A LITTLE BIT OF HELP FROM RUFUS [PLAYED BY THE VERY EXCELLENT GEORGE CARLIN] THEY TIME TRAVEL AND COLLECT HISTORIAL FIGURES FROM ALL OVER HISTORY WITH HILLARIOUS RESULTS. MY FAVOURITE BITS ARE 'WANT A TWINKIE?' WHICH TED SAYS TO NONE OTHER THEN GHENGIS KHAN. AND ALSO WHEN THE HISTORICAL FIGURES ARE LET LOOSE IN THE MODERN DAY MALL AND ALL GET ARRESTED. THIS IS A GREAT GREAT COMEDY AND ONE FOR YOUR COLLECTION. THE SOUNDTRACK STILL ROCKS TOO!!
Rating: Summary: utterly bodacious ! Review: This is brilliant, and has inspired many imitations, but none come close to this unique, goofy comedy that reminds me more of the silent screen gems than of what has passed for funny in recent years. The pairing of Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves was a stroke of genius...they work so well together, and are so convincing as naive airheads that some people, DUH ! actually believe this is what these marvelous actors are like in real life..NOT ! This is great acting, folks. Wonderfully written, the premise is hilarious and all the characters so perfectly cast. I love Al Leong as Genghis Khan. His antics in the mall never fail to make me roar with laughter..."we've got a live one !". With every viewing, I see more details to amuse me...and it has an endearing, sweet spirit that warms my heart...and always remember: "Be excellent to each other !".
Rating: Summary: Most Excellent! Review: Bill and Ted are two defunct high schoolers who have been stuck with a horrendous history assignment (I never knew Joan of Arc was Noah's wife!). With a little bit of help from the future they travel back in time, picking up famous historical characters on the way (Miss of Arc, Mister the Kid). I think my favorite part was when Bill and Ted were in the old West, when Ted says, "Dude they didn't even card us! We got to remember this place." Or maybe it was when they met So Crates (in their book under Socrates). A classic in my book.
Rating: Summary: American Comedy Classic Review: This is truly a great cinematic work. This is easily Keanu's best work. My only question is, why isn't it on DVD! They can put Three Stooges on DVD, but not this great american flick? Let's get with the program. This is too great a movie to let sit on the VHS shelf for so long.
Rating: Summary: Iron Maiden? EXCELLENT! Review: First off, IT IS NOT MOZART IT IS BEETHOVEN! Ok now since that is cleared up here we go. Great movie, I can never get sick of it it is a masterpiece ecspecially when Bill and Ted introduce the historical figures to "Missy,I mean mom" Dennis Freud, Maxine of Arc, Herman the Kid, Socrates Johnson, Dave Beethoven, (pronounced Beeth Oven) Bob Gengis Khan and uh Abe Lincoln that part is classic. I also love when Nepolean becomes a Ziggy Piggy, the other two parts I like are when Sigmund Freud is being interrogated by the cop and Sigmund says to the cop "Tell me about your mother" (funny part) and when Nepolean goes bowling and he slides down the alley and he starts say S**t in French or whatever, even though it didn't win an oscar or anything it did in my heart. See this immeadiatly P.S. Be Excellent to each other and Party On Dudes.
Rating: Summary: Keanu's Best Work Review: Let's face it, the guy was made to do films like this. This movie is what a film should be. Just pure entertainment, no heavy plots, no complex story lines.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Dudes! Review: This was 1 of my favorite movies back in college! I have shown this movie to a lot of my friends! I liked the scene where they're in medieval England and Ted (are you sure this is the Matrix dude! ) recites "Oh, you beautiful babes from England!" and later he and Bill have to fight off the Royal Ugly Dudes! I also like the mall scene where all of the historical characters get in trouble... I'd prefer not to give any details away. Will Bill and Ted pass history (which is the reason for travelling through time to meet everyone from Joan of Arc to Billy the Kid to Napoleon and Beethoven, not Mozart!)? What will become of the princesses? And how come Rufus looks a lot like the "7 Dirty Words" dude?
