Rating: Summary: Time Travel that makes sense Review: I remember going to see this at the dollar theater and not expecting much of it. I loved it. So, if you set your expectations low enough you will be set to enjoy this movie. The absolute cluelessness of the characters lets you put your brain in neutral and let it idle a bit. However, the one thing that I found really unique about this film was that Hollywood did time travel right for a change, as opposed to all of the paradoxical situations that it has produced in the past (Back to the Future etc) Not that those films were bad, but it wasn't so much time travel as semi-controled sliding between alternate universes... Bill and Ted. 1 time line, No paradoxes, and a time-traveling phone booth (think TARDIS but not as cool) -- just good plain fun....
Rating: Summary: A good movie worth most people's time Review: If you can watch the movie without being totally drowned out by the low brow dialogue and 80's rock references, you should do just fine. As for me, I eat that stuff up, so it made it easier for me to enjoy the real meat of the film. People who can't handle a light hearted movie with a few catch phrases belittle this film, but it has a lot going for it. The acting is pretty good- George Carlin is terrific, and Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves do quite well (even though they didn't truly nail their characters until Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey). The Time Lore presented here is, actually, quite thought provoking. Really think about what's being manipulated here, and to what degree it is or is not feasible given generally accepted time mechanics. It's quite fun.
Rating: Summary: The greatest 80's movie of all time Review: It is hard to debate or find a person who has never seen this genious of a film, and what is even harder is finding someone who doesn't like it. This film defines everything that was the 80's and probably some of the best acting that Keanu Reeves will ever do. The storyline is one of the most original stories in modern film and the comedy is slipped in throught this movie that can't decide if it wants to be a comedy, action adventure, or even sometimes a romance. This is a must have for any true movie collector.
Rating: Summary: Truly an Excellent Adventure Review: Honestly, what's not to like about this movie? I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a few laughs
Rating: Summary: Excellent Film Dude! Review: The excitement and fun begin when a trio of interplanetary rulers dispatch a cool hipster from the 27th century to send two teenage boys - who should have been studying history instead of playing rock music - on a trip through time and history. This is one of my all-time favourite comedies ever. It's just very memorable. No one ever forgets a film like this one. It has good acting, funny jokes, and most of all great music for a film like BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. If you ever have time, you should check out the soundtrack. I would actually have to give this film three and a half stars, but not four. That's too much. What worked for me in this film was the amazing special effects that were put mostly into the making of the phone booth. Seeing something like that on tv makes you wish you had that more than anything. Also I like the idea of time travel and the findings of historical figures. That was very original for a movie that is basically about time travelling. This is one of the best comedies ever. That's all I can say. I hope my review was helpful to you!
Rating: Summary: Most Excellent Dude! Review: I finially finished watching the movie "Bill and Teds excellent adventure" And I can honestly say that this is my favorite movie of all time. Seriously. It features a irrisistable premise "Two teens travel through time to get historical figures" and pulls it off wonderfully. By the end of the movie, they get Abraham Lincoln, Socrates, Billy the kid, and much much more. The best part of the movie is its sheer laugh factor, come on, where else are you going to see Billy the Kid and Socrates play Football togeater? Or how about Napolian going bowling (Its hillarious when he swears!) and eating ice cream? And if you think that is too funny, wait untill you see the antics of Ghengis Khan! But saying more then that would ruin the movie. The antics of Bill and Ted are wonderfull to watch. They use the words "Excellent!" and "Dude!" a lot, but it never gets old. The special effects are quite good, considering they were made in the 1980's. What else can I say? Go out and see this movie, do whatever you can to get it! The Good: Wickidly funny, Imensley entertaining The bad: nothing that I can think off And the ugly: Some time travel logic can get really confusing, but it dosent matter too much
Rating: Summary: i admit, i like this one too.... Review: it's not ment to be taken seriously...you can tell they didn't spend a whole lot of money making it, but if it was a big budget movie, it would've lost some of it's charm and humor. there have been days when i have felt totally out of the loop, so i can relate to bill and ted. keanu reeves shot " sweet november " in potrero hill across the street from my favorite coffeehouse when he was here last year, so i got to see him up close. he's short, but it didn't stop dozens of screaming teen girls from taking his picture...he has his moments as an actor. this film should be called how to learn history if you're lazy. but it's funny. until i see " up in smoke " this will be my favorite stoner flick..
Rating: Summary: Party on Dude! Review: Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure, is an awesome movie about a couple of teens who, don't really know what they want to do with their life. All they know is that they want to rock'n'roll and party on dude! Bill and Ted show us that we should never lose site of hope and dreams and that some things are just our destiny. They mix in a little history, and how one might act if put under the pressure of time travel. One of my favorite movies of the 80's, I know i worn the VHS tape out. No more REWINDing Can you say it's on "DVD" :^) Changed my Life! Thank you, Bill and Thank you, Ted! Ken
Rating: Summary: Wyld Stallyns Rule!! Review: What can I say about this movie. I grew up watching it and it's still funny today. Keanu Reeves, as Ted "Theodore" Logan, and Alex Winter, as Bill S. Preston, Esquire, play two bumbling rock-star wannabes who must gather history's greatest icons in order to pass their class and graduate! Who wouldn't like this movie? Keanu is at his dumbest or should I say finest. The always awesome George Carlin plays their intergalactic guardian angel, Rufus. The characters from throughout history are just too funny. Watching them interact with each other and with people in the future is always good for a laugh. Genghis Khan goes crazy in a shopping mall. Napoleon acting stupid at a water park. Billy the Kid, Joan of Arc, Beethoven, Abe Lincoln, and Socrates (Bill & Ted pronounce it So-Crates like So-Cal idiots would). Yes, the movie isn't exactly intelligent substance but the concept for the movie is actually pretty original. But it's pure entertainment and you can just get lost for 90 minutes and have fun, and isn't that what movies are all about? And since it's a low-priced DVD, how can you lose?
Rating: Summary: Perfect Role For Keanu Reeves! Great late 80's flick! Review: Even though I am not the biggest fan of Keanu Reeves, this movie is pretty excellent! lol! If you are into total 80's movies and would like to see two dumb guys prove they can be cool by bringing terrific historical figures to their school for a presentation, well then this is the movie for you. Watch as Napolian becomes a Ziggy Piggy and watch Beethoven hit it big with his keyboard playing antics in the mall! It's a funny, cute movie if you are bored and if you hate the bad acting in Speed and the Matrix, well then turn to this movie for some fun and to view the part Keanu was born to play.
