Rating: Summary: A soundtrack without a movie. Review: Ironically, I was working in a music store when this film's soundtrack was released. The funny thing was the soundtrack was not released in conjunction with film. As a matter of fact, I do not believe this movie was ever released in theaters. Why? Was the movie so bad that the studio had no faith in it for a theatrical release? My store got stuck with alot of soundtracks for a movie no one was able to see. It seems that the studio had more confidence in the soundtrack than the movie.I saw it on cable a year or two later, and it was essentially a movie built around a soundtrack. A shallow story revovling around an allegedly hip soundtrack. It was not as wretchedly awful as I had feared, but still it was just a mild piece of teenage angst fluff with actors who looked like they stepped out of a Noxema ad.
Rating: Summary: very funny, very quotable Review: Okay, so its not the best written movie, not incredibly deep and moving. But its fun! Its funny. I quote it all the time. And the soundtrack is great, the whole reason I watched the movie in the first place. I love Anthony Paglia as the stressed out manager (hey I would be stressed out too if I had to deal with them all day). And Eddie, the pothead pizza guy. Brandon Sexton is great in it as the shoplifter. Quotes: "Is the money coming back from Atlantic City?" "I'm sexy. "No, your stupid. Stu-pid." "No, I'm sexy." "Well, my name is with a K so I thought I'd spell it with a C so it would have that psychedelic, you know, trip thing." "Does Axl have jack?" "Hey wait! What'd I do? Hey wait...you forgot your thingy."
Rating: Summary: Damn the man! Save the Empire! Review: I don't know what is wrong with the people who didn't like this movie. It is so wonderful in showing a group of teens pulling together to save the place they work in while dealing with their own problems. Overflowing with substance, yet retaining that teen flick charm. A must for all us teens, especially with it's great soundtrack. I can understand older more close-minded "all teens are bad" kind of people not enjoying it, but everyone else, rent or buy it today! Oh and a plus for the girls, AJ is sooo hot! "Sugar High"
Rating: Summary: An Excelent Movie Review: This is a very twisted movie, it is played though the minds of several teenagers trying to save their beloved record store. In the midst of it all, something big is happening in each persons life. One is in love, one is in a crisis, and it weaves a tapestry of wonderess and a hilarias plot. This is an excelent movie.
Rating: Summary: Good Lighthearted flick Review: The movie isn't exactly 5 star material...but don't let that discourage you from buying it. It is a good lighthearted movie that will keep you interested. The plot flows well and has lots of humorous points. However it's audiance is a bit targeted. It is a "teen" movie. Not to be confused with a "family" movie, but none the less the content is pretty clean compaired to most today. It's worth having if you are from 14-25 or so, after that I could see it loosing its appeal. Buy It if u fit the age though!
Rating: Summary: Damn the man who thinks this movie didnt rock! Review: Once again DAMN THE MAN WHO DIDNT THINK THIS MOVIE ROCKED! This is an awesome movie that wouldnt pertain to any adult lives... just us teens! All of the lives of each character we (teens) could relate to and look to these characters lives as comfort and a substitution for our own boring lives. FIVE STARS! "SUGAR HIGH!" YEAH!
Rating: Summary: Made me feel physically sick Review: Just what we all needed, an angst ridden story of a bunch of ever-so-misunderstood American teens, after all that's never been done before. So disgusted was I that I wanted to vomit bile all over the screen. Particularly when the blonde girl started singing on top of the record shop. Save me, save me from this horrible horrible film. Not funny Not clever Not good in the slightest.

Rating: Summary: my FAVORITE MOVIE EVER! Review: This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. AJ is SOOO hot and the whole cast is great! it's really funny! if Empire Records were a real store then i would want to work there!
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Movie-for all people! Review: I have yet to meet a person who dislikes this movie, well maybe my mom, but she doesn't count. This was a great film and makes me want to work at a record store. The music is flawless, it adds a lot to the scenes and is a wonderful mix of music. Just like the wonderful mix of personalities you find in the characters, I found myself relating to almost every one of them- well maybe not Mark, I'm never that spacy. I love the quotes from that movie, so many of them that I find my self slipping some into my everyday speech. "Mitch is the man, I'm the idiot, You're the screw up, and we're all losers........Welcome to Music Town!" "Hey you forgot your thingy!" "The fat man walks alone." "Always play with their minds." "Jane have you compred the incidences of homosexuality in teenage males, compared to teenage male Rex Manning fans?" "Who knows where thoughts come from? They just appear." "What's with today, today?" "I don't feel I should explain my art to you Warren." "What's your name?.........."Warren Beaty." Damn the man Save the Empire!
