Summary: The best movie EVER!!
Review: I wasn't even alive when this movie came out and it is undoubtedly one of my few all time favorites. I've been dancing all my life and though the style is different than the style i'm used to, it makes me want to dance every time i watch it. I once made all my friends watch it and afterwards we all got up and tried to do the moves, they loved it too. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves to dance!! It's a timeless movie and i love it!!

Summary: bad
Review: I was amazed how bad this movie was. I saw it when it was in theaters. And I didn't like looking at the horsey-faced Sarah Jessica Parker. That she became a star amazed me, and still amazes me.

Summary: An Abomination - An Assault to your senses
Review: In the name of all that is holy, never have I ever seen anything worse than this show. Even the presence of the radiant and stunningly talented Helen Hunt could improve this picture. Next time you see this movie on a shelf somewhere, do the world a favor and send it back to the depths of hell from whence it came. If a hobo tries to give it to you, have him arrested on assault and battery. This movie is a travesty of a waste of atomic particles, which could be better spent on 42 cochroaches. Does this make sense? Not really. Is it true? Every word. Narf.

Summary: One of the greatest!
Review: I was about 8 years old when I saw this movie the first time. Since then, I've watched it many more times. And I'm still not tired of it. It has something that makes you watch it again, again and again. If you haven't seen this one, you've certainly have missed one of the greatest movies of the 80's. You really are stupid if you don't buy this one. BUY IT QUICK!!!!

Summary: What memories!
Review: Just had to add on to a previous review. I too started watching this movie around 10 years of age and still love it. At the time, my best friend Allyson and I had to have it EVERYTIME we slept over each other's houses as little girls. Why one of our moms didn't buy it then I don't know...they could have saved a lot of rental fees! It really does capture the time and now that Parker is such a big star I love to share it with friends now as a 25 year old. Full of fun and happy memories...can't believe it took me til now to buy it! Every little girl should see this flick! They just don't make them like this anymore!

Summary: Fluffy but fun
Review: In this staple 80's movie, 2 girls get the chance of a lifetime when their favorite show, Dance TV, holds auditions for new dancers. Overly protective parents, an obnoxious little brother, and a love-hate relationship make for many funny moments throughout the film.

The plot, however is somewhat weak. Much of the film is nothing more than fluff.

And yet, this is still one of my favorite films. Maybe this is because it reminds me of growing up in the 80's, when stone washed jeans and leg warmers were way cool.

Summary: What's Not To Love??
Review: I've seen this move a hundred times probably. The first time in probably fourth or fifth grade. It has been a favorite of mine and my friends ever since then. Sure, it's kinda cheezy, but it is still a ton of fun!!! You can't not love this movie!! Watch it with your best girlfriends and you'll have a great night. Get up and DANCE!!!

Summary: The FUN of the 80's
Review: Girls Just Want to Have Fun is an 80's classic, representing the time and culture perfectly. If you want to know what it is like try thinking of an 80's version of Center Stage and mixing it with Dirty Dancing. The movie follows Janey Glenn(Sarah Jessica Parker), who has just moved into town, as she tries out for the DanceTV contest to be a regular on the show. But as always in the 80's the parents get in the way and she has to sneak out in order to practice with her elected dance partner Jeff Malene(Lee Montgomery). As romance blossoms so does jealousy for a spoilt brat Natalie Sands(Holly Gagnier) as she tries her hardest to break the two up, to win the guy and the contest, by getting Janey into trouble with her strict folks! But who will win? Well Getting into trouble is easy, but getting out of it is all the fun! Look out for some younger versions of stars of today - Helen Hunt(Lynne Stone - Janey's new friend), Shannen Doherty(Maggie Malene - Jeff's younger "Punk" sister) & Jonathan Silverman(Drew - Jeff's annoying friend).

Summary: Quintessential 80's flick
Review: If you're planning an 80's night slumber party, this film is a must have. It's perfect for light-hearted popcorn munching.

It's cheesy. It's lame. It's full of tired cliches.

But who doesn't like to watch a snotty debutante's party crashed by a pack of female bodybuilders?

It's a bad film, but a fun film. Marvel at the insane 80's fashions...did we really used to dress that way? Definitely enjoyable to watch a pre-Sex and the City Sarah Jessica Parker and a pre-teen Shannen Doherty. But the show definitely belongs to Helen Hunt, who defined my pre-adolescent idea of cool with her bug hat and outrageous behavior.

There's a good deal of dancing, most of which is as dated as the clothes. Truthfully, there ain't much to it, but it's a hoot.

Summary: A Fun, Upbeat Movie!
Review: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" is a wonderful movie full of excitement. It tells the story of how a teenage girl struggles to follow her dream, to be a dancer on Dance TV in Chicago. Janie, (Sarah Jessica Parker) is a normal teenage girl, with an over protective father, who can't convice him to let her try out for Dance TV. But, with the help of her boyfriend, his little sister, and her best friend (Helen Hunt) Janie ignores what her father and the nuns at her Catholic high school say and goes to follow her dream. GREAT MOVIE!
