Review: This movie is one of the all time classics that seems to transcend itself. It is the funniest, most enjoyable, most vicariously inspiring movie of all time. Seriously though, I've seen it 27 times and it's still as good as the first time I saw it. If you die without seeing this movie you should be placed in a burlap sack and beaten with reeds....although it wouldn't do a lot of good if you're dead, right?

Review: Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my favorite movies of all time. I don't care how many times I've seen it, there is always something to laugh about. Matthew Broderick has great charisma in the role of Ferris, an 18 year old seinor who just needs a break from school to chill with his best friend and girlfriend. The best movie John Hughes ever made was this. I have seen this movie so many times, I'm proud to say that I can now recite the line "My best friend's brother's girlfriend, knows this guy, who knows this kid, who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess its pretty serious" at the drop of a hat. Endless laughs, great charm, and at the root, a feel good movie. Don't you wish High School could really be this much fun?

Summary: Excellent, feel good movie. But the real point is .....
Review: Four stars because it loses its pace in the middle, and because Ferris's parents are so unbelievably clueless (how could they have produced that kid?). Its funny, you can watch it again and again (esp. the 'Twist and Shout' scene), and the acting is wonderful (Matthew Broderick's best role). But mainly its about a likeable teen who is friend to the world - and the world likes him in return. If you don't get anything else from the movie, hold this message! I have it on hand for my grandkids' visits. Should I get them their own copy? No way -- I like to watch it too.
