Rating: Summary: THE 80s teen flick! Review: This outrageously hilarious picture from 1986 is already a classic. In Australia it has almost reached cult status, and I find that it glamorously portrays the American teenage lifestyle. A true American treasure!Superb casting and acting make this teenage comedy stand out. It is one of those rare films in which the laughs cascade from one scene on to the next. There is never a dull passage. Memorable moments include a unique classroom scene with the teacher's inimitable method of sending the class to sleep, and no one ever forgets the freeze-frame with the Ferrari airborne to the Star Wars theme: brilliant! The picture quality is excellent, remarkably brighter and crisper than those old VHS rental tapes. The picturesque footage of Chicago is both a credit to the production team and an appealing advertisement for the city itself. The sound quality also does the exceptional soundtrack justice. Dolby Digital 5.1 and Widescreen as standard features, and a fascinating directors commentary make this DVD release worthy of the title. If you are after great comedy, this wont disappoint.
Rating: Summary: Ferris Bueller, You're My Hero... ! Review: I read the (...) review for this classic teen movie and while I agree that the script *is* a bit uneven (and that is typical for John Hughes), I couldn't *disagree* more that Ferris has lost its "effervescence". Just because it was made in the 80's? I just watched it with my three kids ages 8 to 15 and they loved it (and they aren't big fans of "old stuff"). This movie is about three smart goodhearted kids itching to be free and tweak the nose of the system without being mean-spirited or nasty in the process. It is *timeless*. Although, for those of us who left high school in the 80's, it is indeed a wonderful trip back to that era. So what if Ferris's cool technology is outdated now??! It's what he does with what he has that is ingenious and hilarious; time has not diminished that. I think this is the funniest teen movie ever made and one of the smartest as well. It's very hard to do both, apparently; look at what's been made over time and I think you will agree. A little slapstick doesn't really take away from the movie. The story is still great. The acting is top notch as well. Watch the movie with its cornacopia of characters and notice that they are all having real fun in their roles. Ben Stein made a whole second career out of his part. To this day most people think of Stein, not George Bush when they hear the term "Voodoo Economics"("anyone? voo? voo?"). "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is smart, sweet, goofy, sarcastic, lively, caring, and most of all, not dark. It is filled with color, light, and laughs. And it never grows old.
Rating: Summary: In my top 10 Review: This has become one of my touchstone movies. I think I have deconstructed Ferris to a point that is obsessive. I love the humor, but also the pathos. From the opening scenes to the very last (post credit) scene) everything about this comedy works. I especially like the museum scene and I find the part where Cameron stares at Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" very moving.
Rating: Summary: This is a really funny movie Review: yuThis is a movie everybody should see. It is about a teen who decides to take a day off from school and his conflicts with his friends, principal, parents, and sister. I have never seen anything so funny. See this movie. You will not regret using this hour and a half.
Rating: Summary: Reviewer was wrong!! Review: I am a teenager and I love Ferris Buellers Days Off!! "But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did." Keith Simanton. Whatever, I love this movie, it is a classic teen flick and will always attract audiences. I have found that most teenagers enjoy this film as much as I do.

Rating: Summary: GREAT. Review: Great. That's all I can say. This movie will make you love Matthew Broderick. (although I still ask myself, "why was he in that Civil War movie?" -- I don't know.) This film is top stuff. You can't top it. Can't do it. I was smiling the whole movie. Excellent. I want to be Ferris Bueller. How great would that be? I think he's a genious. He's always trickin' everybody -- ("do you like tricky things?!") I still can't believe he was able to pull off that whole thing at "Chez Quis". Oh yeah, I want to MARRY Sloan Peterson! And-- The parade scene is choice. And if you have the means, I highly reccommend you pick this up.

My dad and I just watched this on TV and it's my new favourite movie! I loved it! It's so funny and Mathew Brodderick is just SO GOOD in it!! I loved this and I know a whole bunch of kids who love it also! It's hilarious, especially when he sings Twist and Shout atop a parade float in downtown chicago!
