Rating: Summary: One Of My Very Favorite Movies! Review: I LOVE this movie. It was the first vdeo I ever bought for myself and is one of the sweetest, most romantic, and funniest movies I've seen. DB Sweeney is gorgeous as the loveable, girl chasing, less than brilliant ex-hockey god, and Moira Kelly plays an excellent, evil, spoiled typical rich primadonna figure skater from Connecticut. Techncally, it is hard to believe a hockey player could be transformed into a figure skater, but view it with an open mind and you will fall in love with this movie too!
Rating: Summary: I just saw this movie for the first time (AND I'M SO GLAD!) Review: This is a great, great movie for anyone who likes romances with a little bite to them... No wilting flower heroine here! Kate (Moira Kelly) is a class A witch! She is demanding, selfish and self-involved, but she is a wonderful ice-skater... And one in need of a partner. Doug (DB Sweeny) is- well- he's a little simpler, and a little less high-maintenence, but he's also a great skater, and one who can no longer play hockey... So they pair up, and the sparks start flying. This is such a fun movie-- I'd have to compare the dynamic between these two to that between Han and Leia. It's definately a "love/hate" relationship, but they are perfectly matched, both on ice and off... Watch it if you love romance, watch it if you love to laugh... Fair warning, after I saw it for the first time, I went out and signed up for ice skating lessons!
Rating: Summary: The best movie I have ever seen! Review: This movie means so much to me it is hard to describe. My friends and I have actually started a club around the cutting edge. We can't get enough of Doug and Kate! Our favorite scene is the "final skate." I recommed this movie to anyone who is looking for a good laugh and a good cry.
Rating: Summary: Have a tissue handy Review: Man! I love this movie. It's one of the few that I will watch more than once. The end where they finally declare their love for each other gets me every time. I still cry even though I know it's coming. Plus, Moira Kelly is a doll!
Rating: Summary: Best Romantic Comedy of The Decade Review: "The Cutting Edge" is simply the best date movie ever created. ::::: Release This Movie On DVD :::::
Rating: Summary: One of my FAVORITE movies! Review: I own this video and it is one of the best movies in my collections. I've seen it about 50 + times and never get tired of watching certain skating scenes over and over.. not to mention the lovey parts. This is such a sweet movie! Well-written, cute and the actors actually look like their skating. If you enjoy watching Olympic Skating..(and who doesn't) you'll LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Rating: Summary: An all time favorite! Review: I have watched this movie too many times to count and it still hasn't lost it's magic.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: Great acting. It was a love story, yet not TOO mushy. I loved the story line. Buy it, watch it. Oh, and don't forget your Kleenex.
Rating: Summary: A contemporary classic Review: Just as the video box cover describes - a contemporary classic. I think this movie is so cleverly done that it will hold up well over the years. In fact, I think its following continues to grow, and people will still be watching and enjoying this movie 20 years from now. It's a fun movie that conveys some serious themes while maintaining a PG rating. It has a drinking scene that one could have seen in a movie from the 1940's that still shows the consequences of getting drunk such as making a butt of oneself, lack of impulse control, and feeling sick as a dog the next day. D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly are both excellent in their roles and have a lot of chemistry. The secondary characters are very enjoyable and interesting as well. There is a lot of background history to the characters that is just alluded to so as to make it even more intriguing and to create tension between the characters.
Rating: Summary: Very, very excelent! Review: This movie is great! It's one of my all time favorites. I've seen it so many times that I know it almost word for word, yet I never tire of it. I love the fact that Dorsey (D.B. Sweeney) could go from hockey player to figure skater like he did. And your routing for the two to get together the whole movie. And you can't help but love their quick remarks.
